Gallop is galloping around fields in doggy heaven, getting all the belly rubs & love & attention as he should. Pain free living like a puppy 💜 He taught me & I taught my family so very much about guide dogs & he left his paw prints across the 🌎 & exceeded his expectations & his duty :) He will Dog nap in peace, we're all certain 💜 Sending my love. Hopefully some artists will draw him in his memory.

I donated to the Mira Foundation today. I only mention it because I could not say why on their format. I made this donation in memory of a dog named Gallop whose bravery, loyalty, intelligence and love was as real as any creature's could be. Thank you Molly and Gallop for sharing so much with so many of us.

I just imagine Gypsy greeting Gallop at the rainbow bridge with “How’s our girl?” And Gallop responding with “She’s doing great! She’s sad right now but she has a great work pup to take care of her and I love her and she gave me so much cheese!” May he run and nap and eat all the heavenly treats he deserves. ❤❤❤

Gallop is the reason I got my guide dog, Marigold. She’s from the Guide Dog Foundation in New York, and you and Gallop inspired me to apply. I was still only 15 when they accepted me, even though you technically have to be 16 to receive a dog from them in most cases. The pandemic delayed…everything; so I didn’t get Marigold until 18, but I still feel I owe Gallop for her. Thank you for sharing him with me and us

As a veterinarian, I can tell you that all of the veterinary staff feel the loss of each and every one of our patients deeply. We often try not to break down in the room with owners, as we don't want to make it about us, but it's common for us to cry behind the scenes. Sometimes we can't hide it though and the tears flow in the room. Sometimes we have to wall off the emotions and tears to continue on with our day helping other animals.
I'm so sorry Gallop reached the end of his life; I can only imagine how much harder it is losing a service animal who gave so much to you. ❤
And thank you so much for making that last video with Gallop to allow all of us to say our goodbyes. He really did leave an impact on so many of us

I have had a vet cry in the room with me while euthanizing my dog, and it was nice to feel like she was in the emotional experience with us. I would’ve been more upset if it seemed like she didn’t care. The empathy from a vet is something I really appreciate as a dog owner.

    • @erinalanna7732
      @erinalanna7732 ปีที่แล้ว +25

As a vet tech - I wouldn’t work for a veterinarian who DIDNT get emotional after euthanizing pets. It means that they have empathy and compassion for their patients - euthanasias never get easier, nor should they.

Gallop (with your help, Molly) taught me as a sighted person what it means to be a guide dog, what kind of work he does, how to treat working dogs as a stranger and as a friend. I was a little sad for myself when he retired and it took me a bit to get used to Elton because as Molly said, this was partially Gallop's channel. But Molly is clearly in gret paws with Elton. Gallop is going to be missed by thousands of people.

I didn’t tell you this on Instagram, because at the time I was still grieving in my own way (as someone who loved and watched Gallop from afar), but that little ball of cheese loving sunshine was the reason I decided to keep fighting for my own right to better care as a disabled/chronically ill person. He showed me what a difference a pup like him could do for someone who needed him, but he also showed me how silly and goofy these pups can be during their time off. I’m finally, after so many years, almost there. I’m getting my prospect soon (owner training the pup with the help of a professional service dog trainer who has his own organization and has worked as a lead trainer in one of the biggest guide dog schools in my country), and if it’s a boy I would love to name him something that reminds me of Gallop :’) I mean, imagine a yellow lab named Cheese?😂😭 Or, if you’d like to name him, I’d be honored, and I’m sure he would be too (If it ends up being a girl, you can still name her if you’d like). Thank you for being so open with us, always, and for trusting us enough to show us your more vulnerable side during this very difficult time. You’re so, so loved and supported, Molly.
PS. I just noticed (I think?) that my comment was in the video🥺

I'm so sorry Molly, losing a dog is horrendous enough without losing a dog as important as Gallop was to you.
I'd like to add my absolute favourite Gallop moment was when you did a video about how he guides you and you asked him to find a chair. And he led you confidently to a chair and as you went to sit in it, you realised there was someone sitting in it and Gallop was like "you asked me for a chair, that's a chair, what more do you want?! ". It'll always make me laugh when I think of that video.

Around 6 years ago, I found your channel. I was struggling with PTSD and no medication was really helping. I also have multiple heart issues. Because of Gallop, I started owner training my dog to respond and alert to PTSD symptoms. Eventually, she started naturally alerting to heart rate and blood pressure changes! She worked for 6 years and is now 12. She had started to finally show she was getting older last year, so she retired. I now have a 1 year old SDiT who is doing well, but I took a loan for professional help this time since I'm an adult now!
I am dreading saying goodbye to my girl and hope she has more good years to come (she's a pomeranian, so longer life span), but I know one day we will go through this.
I can only imagine what you're going through. I owe it to you and Gallop to learning that a service dog would massively change my life for the better, especially as my heart has worsened. We have about a year left with him and I'm so happy that we are able to assist our community in such an impactful way. I would've never have been brave enough to volunteer without your videos detailing the importance of having a solid puppy raiser to start that training early. We already have two highly trained Aussies and we wanted to use the skills we've learned over the last 4 years for the good of the community and today he was labeled as 'advanced'! I’ve lost many furbabies over the years, and I’m only 22.. every time I lose one they take a piece of my broken human heart with them. When I can open my heart to love another one, the new love replaces a missing piece lost prior, with a piece of their heart. A truly loving and empathetic heart, one that gives unconditionally to those whom they love. It’s one of the hardest parts of pet ownership, guiding your furbaby over the rainbow bridge but it’s one of the most important parts too. Making sure they feel safe and all the love and gratitude that we have to give after years of them being by our side. ❤❤

This video made me tear up too, making me think of my angel babies , my cat Elsa and my two senior dogs, missy and dozer in heaven. Three different experiences. I cried each time. I prayed for each of them before they went to Jesus. Videos like this make me think of them and miss them all over again. It does get easier with time. I have four girl dogs. The oldest will be 5 in Feb the other three are 2 years old and will be 3 in Nov, Feb and march. None of them are service dogs. I tried to owner train but it’s hard and I just enjoy my girls at home. And take them to tractor supply sometimes or a park when it’s cool enough out and I have the energy. I will have other kittens and childhood dogs in heaven waiting too.

We were also told that it was best to let her go before her spleen ruptured. We brought her home one more night too and let her go the next day.
