Due to PF and having issues with my heels while Vaporfly3 during Stockholm mrathon early June 2024, I Googled "best nonplated shoe". The best option that came up was Novablast 4.
Then I ran a much better marathon in them just 4 weeks after Stockholm.
I ran faster and no issues at all, even being able to run a normal week thereafter.
So sure I was eager to continue along the Asics road then, my curiosity was raised!
2 days later I happened to visit my fav running shop 1 or 2 days after launch day of Superblast2, my Lucky day😅. I was not aware upon the worldwide hype at that point, at least not in Norway. But quite soon I realized!
So, all you say is correct about these shoes, I'm closing up to 600 km in mine, barely showing any tear or wear.
Also ran a 1/2 marathon in them early September, using them for recoveryruns, longruns, temporuns etc, they're really versatile.
They got restocked in November, got myself a new pair in lilla/silver colors, saving these up for next year.
And just before Christmas I got my first pair of Edge from Asics.
2025 may just come, I'm more than ready😂.
Keep it up down in Japan!

@@MusicChristo thanks for sharing your story. I wish I had bought more pairs at launch-a backup for me and then a third pair to sell on the secondary market.
Do you think you’ll give the Novablast 5 a go anytime soon?

@RunningInJapan Haha, bought roughly 10 pairs this year, and with so many in rotation it will take a while until I really "need" more. But you think they are That good?

@RunningInJapan ohhh damn 😳 I don't know how you run in them, I ran in mine 410+ miles and mine don't look as bad as yours 😂

I appreciate you showing the outsole. The heel of my outsole on one side started ripping at 10 miles (yes, 10 miles) of owning them and every review I’ve seen shows zero wear there. While that is absolutely unacceptable for any shoe, it hasn’t affected performance and everything else with the shoe has been great for me.

@ there may be another factor at play here. It might be the way I run in them, but there’s a small possibility for another reason.
There was a time where after each run, I would run the bottom under a garage sink or a sink, hot water, and with a soft brush, brush debris off the bottom. I would soap the upper as well, rinse, and then I place them outside to dry.
Is it unlikely that’s the reason they’re worn on the same heel spot on both shoes, yes. But factoring in that hot water, brushing, sun drying, maybe I did weaken material/foam. I can’t discount it entirely.

@ thanks for sharing, now I’m glad to know it just isn’t me. Literally seconds before replying to your comment, I just replied to someone else about the wear on my soles. Look for it.
