A lot of scales you have to take one of those spacers out to get the liner nested, the spacer overlaps that cutout but juuuuust a little, all the scales I’ve got with barrel spacers has been like that
I’ve purchased several scales from Ali and have to say that I’ve been impressed by all of them. They aren’t top notch best you can buy but they are very impressive for the price that you pay. I’ve bought scales for my Hinderer XM-18, PM2, Para 3 and Bugout. Was hesitant on the first order but not after getting those in hand. I’ve always gotten great quantity products for rock bottom prices. Thank for the video. I’m looking for scales for a Griptilian now.
I got a similar set off of eBay From what I believe to be the same seller or manufacture at least. And I had to shorten the screws. Other than that they worked perfectly. 10/10 would recommend them as a little bit of a upgrade!!!
It appears that the new scales will fit with a little fine tuning. I don’t own a Benchmade, so I am surprised that for what they charge, you do not get a full steel liner. Probably not going to buy the scales if I have to spend a small fortune for a butterfly. LOL. Good video!
The scales on the Griptilian seem to be made from a very solid material. having said that they feel cheap regardless of how good they may be. little disappointing that the first thing you want to do after buying the knife is replace the scales. Again I think the material they use is very strong and durable it just doesn't look it or feel it.
@@idhatemet00 Yes I should be more specific here real micarta is the original (high-end) stuff made for example by Norplex who is owning the brand name micarta or Kimberlin Co. (Westinghouse Micarta) and you have a lot of other manufacturers who are making Pressure laminated canvas composite or thermo-set laminate and on the other side, you have Chinese manufacturers who make similar composites, for example, one of the first new production companies that are used micarta is Kizer with their Pinch model that type of micarta I use to call Cinacarta or OG Chinese Micarta they improved the process and produces a lot of nice micarta since the introduction of the Kizer Pinch. Yes much better than the plastic scales but they miss out not having a nice pair of canvas micarta scales like those on the clone I have shown.

Maybe they would also fit the clone Grip but you are not missing out not to have it.

Is this Micarta real Micarta?
I can tell you that it is not imaginary it is just another Chinese burlap similar to what two sun or civivi is using.
real micarta as opposed to what? fake micarta? micarta is just epoxy with canvas or linen, or in this case burlap
