    Life without the gospel has been a literal Hell on Earth, I’ve lived in this proverbial dry-parched-desert for 35 years. I can’t live without the sweetness of the gospel any longer. The Book of Mormon and the taking of the Sacrament is the entryway of my returning!! God help remove all the obstacles 🙏

      @jake8882 Their belief system is nothing but righteous and good. It's actually not even their belief system but it's the Lords standards and teachings. Our leaders speak for the Lord when under the influence of the Holy Ghost. Nobody is perfect but most are trying their best. They belief in righteousness and goodness. The articles of faith will tell you what they believe.

      Well, Joseph should not have been murdered, but he often disobeyed the law. He was arrested for inciting a riot by destroying the printing press in Nauvoo that reported on his previously secret practice of polygamy. He had been charged over 30 times throughout his life of other crimes. Why does he get a pass for illegal activity?

    • @TheWordsofChrist
      @TheWordsofChrist  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +20

      It’s important to distinguish between being charged with a crime and being convicted of one, and this distinction seems to have been overlooked in your post. Your portrayal of Joseph Smith’s legal issues does not align with the historical record. As you have claimed he was charged 30 times yet the real number is much higher!
      Consider this: Was Jesus Christ accused of disobeying the law? Indeed, He faced accusations from authorities which led to His crucifixion. When evil prevails, it often labels good as evil and vice versa, a pattern observable in many situations, including today.
      Additionally, while various reports exist, not all are accurate or provable in a court of law. Many allegations, whether historical or contemporary, lack substantiation and should be carefully scrutinized.

    • @ChrisFBartlett
      @ChrisFBartlett 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheWordsofChrist Thanks for responding. We are commanded to “obey the laws of the land.” My question was, why does Joseph have a different standard? I’ve never been arrested, nor charged with false crimes - let alone over 30 of them. What explanation do we have for Joseph to be involved in so many crimes? Is our explanation purely that the “forces of evil” were against him? Was there zero wrongdoing on his part?

    • @TheWordsofChrist
      @TheWordsofChrist  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      Did you read over my previous response? If someone is charged but not convicted, it logically suggests that either no wrongdoing occurred or that there was insufficient evidence to prove any involvement of wrongdoing in a court of law.
      If a person faced numerous charges-much more than 30 times-yet was not convicted of those charges in a court of law, is it not logical to conclude that others may have wished to harm Joseph Smith or his character by repeatedly making frivolous claims in an attempt to do so?
      It's important to note that our personal experience of not either being charged or conviction of crimes ourselves don't directly impact the discussion about Joseph Smith. We've seen cases recently where DNA evidence has led to the release of individuals who were wrongly convicted of serious crimes. This demonstrates that sometimes, despite legal convictions, the truth can reveal that someone was not guilty of the charges against them.

    I have received a witness by the Holy Spirit time and time again of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I love hearing the words of Christ in that book. The prophets also truly do testify of Christ and how much he wants each of his children to repent and return to him. It is important for true joy in our lives to believe in him, be baptized and follow him by making and keeping covenants, recognize him as our Savior and redeemer . How blessed we are to have his beautiful gift of the atonement of Jesus Christ for each of us.

      You’ll begin to see results once you start doing the things you know you should and ask the Lord with a sincere heart. The Lord does answer, but He may withhold answers if He knows you won’t accept and act with faith once you receive them.
      The Lord is so loving that He doesn’t want to add the sin of disobedience to our burdens. So if you’re serious, ask yourself this question: "What do I need to start or stop doing to get closer to You?" You’ll likely receive a gentle impression right away, and it’s probably something you’ve felt before but may have ignored.
      This time, don’t ignore it. Start or stop doing what the Holy Spirit has prompted you to do, and don’t forget to ask the Lord for help. Doing this consistently, day by day and hour by hour, will bring you to a point where you can receive even greater answers.
      Trust me, it works. Try it now and see how your life changes as you turn to God and invite the Lord to help you do what you couldn’t do on your own.

    The Book of Mormon are the words of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, which He commanded his ancient prophets to be written that it may come to light in the last days to the convincing of both Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ. Given by the angel Moroni written in gold plates, translated by the gift and power of God through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph and Hyrum were not separated in life and even in death. They sealed their testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon with the shedding of their blood. The Prophet Joseph knew that God knew it and he could not deny it. I am so greatful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for our living Prophet today: President Russell M. Nelson!

    What's fun is now that I can reliably feel what is right and also understand the path that God wants for me, I can safely listen and actually agree with most church talks now. That's huge for me and I'm really happy about that! I've been repenting! My disposition to do evil is less than the year and a half ago that I started listening to the come follow me lessons everyday on the way to work. It works if you work it! I am not perfect and I sin everyday, I am not flawless but I feel the Spirit everyday and that means I am worthy of the Spirit of course since I'm feeling it. God is awesome, also terrible, but that's because He's better than me And I am so poor in spirit that it is terrible to think this wretched thing that I am is worthy of His love, He is amazing and I don't get what He gets out of me but I'm so happy that He loves me and that He cares for me.

    This is what I find the most interesting. When all the early apostles of Christ died they did so professing Jesus was the Christ and Son of God! They died for and in their belief! Joseph and Hyrum died under nearly the same circumstance. The early Apostles could have recanted their message when death was threaten, but they could not and would not disappoint God and that is probably exactly how Joseph and Hyrum felt about it! They knew death was literally at the door, but they stayed true to the cause! You don't have to believe in the book to feel it's effects! Just like you don't have to believe in Jesus to see how your life changes if you follow his teachings! AMEN!

    The ancient apostles went about healing and casting out devils.
    The works done were so profound and undeniable that some of these apostles became famous to the point where people would hope that being in the path of one of their shadows would be enough to heal them.
    It is one thing to stand at a podium and bear testimony, and it's quite another do the works that Christ did and be hated, jailed, and beaten for them.

    The enemy of truth exists within the church. As someone who has felt the spirit I know that the gospel is true. Problem is the church within utah is so corrupt. It's hard to watch the church I loved as a child. Become so vile after my family moved to utah. The church is true but it is also untrue. Best of luck.

      Many people talk about the Church being true, but we must remember that the Church is an organization. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ that is true, and our focus should be on Christ, the scriptures that teach the gospel with clarity and plainness, and the words of both past and current prophets and apostles when they testify of Christ and guide us toward Him.
      Again, while The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is considered the Lord’s true church on earth, it is important to recognize that the central focus should always be on Jesus Christ, His Atonement, and His teachings as found in the scriptures. President Russell M. Nelson often reminds members to develop a personal relationship with Christ and to be immersed in His gospel. The Church serves as the structure to facilitate this, but the true saving power comes from Christ and His gospel.
      Due to the challenges and widespread issues in society today, the Church has implemented safeguards to protect children, such as not allowing adults to teach children alone. This is in line with the directive that gospel teaching should be a family-centered, Church-supported effort. We must remember this guidance and act accordingly. Don’t let the imperfections of Church organization or the mistakes or sins of leaders-whether local or otherwise-shake your testimony. Our faith should remain rooted in Jesus Christ and His gospel.

    As a member of the church, I love your videos…however I pray that you will remove the constant movement from the bottom of the screen. It is such a distraction, it’s hard to focus on the content at hand. We all need to be moving away from any distractions that keep us from the gospel & moving forward.

    This argument that men wouldn’t die for a false religion or belief…the people of Jonestown, Heavensgate, and countless Jihadis would like a word.
    There are lots of arguments for belief, but, “depth of commitment unto death,” is not one of them.

      I am not going to tell you that heavens gate or Islam is the "TRUE" religion, but they must have truly believed it to die for it... Why not try to read the book and decide for yourself?!?!

      I believe his point is that as the founder of the religion, it would be logically incoherent for him to take solace in the words of the Book of Mormon if he had written the book and knew that he had simply made it all up

    So why doesn't the church recognise the nemenhah records? (Which were presented to Brigham young) Or chief midegah of the ojibwe nation and the birch bark scrolls? Why do the native Americans have to release more of their records this September in a big meeting in order to get the church's attention?

      What makes you think that you are due an explanation of these things? The Lord's time is not our time. If there is truth in these things, then it will be revealed in His due time.
      Do you truly believe the church as a whole understands The Book of Mormon? I personally don't think so. If not, what need have we of additional scripture?

      The gathering of Israel is a gathering of the truth about our Savior Jesus Christ among the peoples of the earth. The Lord visited many people after His death and Resurrection, according to both the Bible and the Book of Mormon -"Other Sheep". Why would any saint be surprised that people visited by our Savior kept their own record of their dealings with Jesus Christ?

      The CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS only mission is to gather and call Israel home. I believe in your position of the Matter and have found great pleasure in reading several books about the Ojibwa nation. However there are many BYU scholars who have pinpointed the Myah in central America. It’ll all be worked out in a very short period of time.

    Why am I seeing commercials in the middle of a talk like this? You've monetized Elder Holland's talk?

      The channel is not monitized. I'm personally of the opinion that doing so would be priestcraft. See welcome video description for more details.

      As clearly explained in the channel description, I don’t earn anything from this channel. However, since this is TH-cam, all videos have ads because the platform uses them to generate revenue. I don't make a single penny for the roughly 100 hours per week I spend creating content and responding to comments. This is just one of the small ways I contribute to the gathering of Israel.

      I invite you to watch this short video exploring how the Bible and the Book of Mormon support each other. After watching, I encourage you to read the Book of Mormon for yourself. It offers profound insights and teachings. If you’ve found the Bible to be deeply meaningful, you might find that the Book of Mormon has its own significant and thoughtful contributions as well. - th-cam.com/video/BteuBueQS_I/w-d-xo.html

    • @TheWordsofChrist
      @TheWordsofChrist  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Absolutely, it's true that anyone, including leaders, can be susceptible to deception. In our faith, we emphasize personal revelation and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help discern truth. While we respect and value our leaders, we also believe in seeking personal confirmation through prayer and study. This approach helps ensure that our understanding aligns with divine truth, as outlined in scriptures and personal revelation.
