President Oaks delivers such profound truths in this talk that may require the guidance of the Holy Ghost to fully understand. You might find it helpful to listen to the talk more than once to grasp the messages the Lord is sharing with us through His chosen servant.

We must take responsibility for our own sins .True repentance is being sorry for what we've done to others, knowing we deserve to be punished and not feeling sorry for ourselves that we might lose paradise. If someone has harmed you, they should be truly repentant at the harm they caused you, not the benefits they might miss.
I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy says God..

All Christian faiths will unite as one? Really? Because the last time I looked, they are bickering with one another. The United Methodist Church just broke apart because they couldn’t love one another. Every Christian denomination has experienced schisms and family feuds, and I expect that will continue.

He didn't say it would happen yet. Just because it doesn't look like it for now, doesn't mean it won't happen. I wonder how long it to took to look like it was going to rain in Noahs day.....😏

@@weirdsweetcoolplants Never in the history of Christianity have the various factions of the faith been united. Never in history have the three Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity and the Islamic Tradition) been at peace with one another. Not one moment in time. If you think they will achieve this to sooth your ego, I believe you will be sorely disappointed. But you also apparently believe in the methodology of Noah and the non-existent arc, so I suppose believing in fatuous relics is within your repitrau.

as we see right and wrong become muddy, we see people who will accept things that maybe 10 years ago they would not accept. So what will happen is that different faiths will accept each other as they see this happening. I'm in my 70's and I've already seen this happening, wherein different faiths even in slc utah are accepting each other. The RCC works with the LDS church to use their monies together to help people, that couldn't have been done not too many years ago.

@@TheWordsofChrist An infinite atonement would cost God’s life, not a mere human life?

    • @TheWordsofChrist
      @TheWordsofChrist  หลายเดือนก่อน

Thank you for your thoughtful question.
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is indeed infinite, but it was accomplished by the Son of God in His mortal life, which carried infinite significance because of His divine nature and purpose. Let me explain this using scripture to support the answer.
We believe that while Jesus Christ was born into mortality, He was literally the Son of God, making His life far more than just a human life. His divine parentage gives His sacrifice infinite worth.
      - John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - Jesus Christ’s role as the Only Begotten Son makes His sacrifice different from that of any mortal. His unique divine nature gives Him the capacity to offer an infinite atonement.
The Atonement was infinite in scope because it covers all humanity and extends throughout all time. Jesus Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection provided redemption from both physical and spiritual death for all mankind.
      - Isaiah 53:4-5: "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows... But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." - This prophecy shows that the Atonement is not just symbolic or for a limited group but infinite in its ability to heal all who come to Christ.
The Atonement required someone who could overcome death and sin, something no mere mortal could do. Jesus Christ, being both fully divine and fully human, had the unique capacity to pay the price for sin and conquer death through His resurrection. His life wasn’t "merely human"; it was the life of the Son of God, making the Atonement both possible and infinite in scope.
      - Hebrews 9:14: "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" - This verse reinforces the idea that Jesus Christ’s sacrifice was perfect and infinite. It was His divinity, His sinlessness, and His divine power that made His Atonement infinite.
Christ’s atonement, though carried out in mortality, was always part of God’s eternal plan. We believe that God the Father sent Jesus Christ to fulfill this purpose for all mankind.
      - 1 Peter 1:18-20: "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things... But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world." - Christ’s role in providing an infinite Atonement was foreordained by God the Father, and it was this eternal plan that enabled Jesus, as the Son of God, to make the ultimate, infinite sacrifice for humanity.
Through His resurrection, Jesus Christ overcame physical death for all, ensuring that all will be resurrected. His sacrifice also made it possible for individuals to overcome spiritual death (separation from God) through repentance and faith in Him.
      - 1 Corinthians 15:22: "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." - Christ’s Atonement is infinite because it ensures that all humanity will be resurrected, a gift freely given to all through His divine power.
The Atonement of Jesus Christ was indeed infinite. It did not require God the Father to die but required the sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son, who, being both fully divine and fully human, had the power to atone for the sins of all mankind. Christ’s atoning sacrifice was infinite because it applies to all people, across all time, and overcomes both physical and spiritual death.
I hope this helps clarify our understanding of the infinite atonement. Please feel free to ask more questions if you’d like to continue the discussion!

      understanding of who Christ is

    • @TheWordsofChrist
      @TheWordsofChrist  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

In addition to the belief that all righteous people will be united in the kingdom of God, it is also clear from scripture that those who will inhabit the Earth during the Millennium will be those who are willing to follow and serve Jesus Christ.
Doctrine and Covenants 45:55 states, "And Satan shall be bound, that he shall have no place in the hearts of the children of men." This scripture implies that during the Millennium, only those who have chosen to follow Christ and live righteously will remain on the Earth, as Satan will have no influence over them.
Doctrine and Covenants 88:96-98 describes the Second Coming and the resurrection of the righteous, saying that "And the saints that are upon the earth, who are alive, shall be quickened and be caught up to meet him. And they who have slept in their graves shall come forth, for their graves shall be opened; and they also shall be caught up to meet him in the midst of the pillar of heaven. They are Christ’s, the first fruits, they who shall descend with him first, and they who are on the earth and in their graves, who are first caught up to meet him; and all this by the voice of the sounding of the trump of the angel of God." the ones to inherit the Earth during this peaceful thousand-year reign.
Additionally, Doctrine and Covenants 63:49-51 indicates that those who "Yea, and blessed are the dead that die in the Lord, from henceforth, when the Lord shall come, and old things shall pass away, and all things become new, they shall rise from the dead and shall not die after, and shall receive an inheritance before the Lord, in the holy city. And he that liveth when the Lord shall come, and hath kept the faith, blessed is he; nevertheless, it is appointed to him to die at the age of man. Wherefore, children shall grow up until they become old; old men shall die; but they shall not sleep in the dust, but they shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye." and will be the inhabitants of the Earth during the Millennium, emphasizing that it will be the righteous who follow Christ that are present during this time.
President Joseph Fielding Smith also taught that "only those who have lived worthy of being changed in a twinkling of an eye and of being caught up to meet the Lord at his coming shall remain on the earth during the Millennium" (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 1, p. 86). This supports the idea that the Millennium will be a time when the Earth is populated by those who are faithful to Jesus Christ and His teachings.
These scriptures and teachings confirm that while all righteous people, regardless of religious background, will be united in the kingdom of God, those who inhabit the Earth during the Millennium will be those who have chosen to follow and serve Jesus Christ. This unity under Christ will be a defining characteristic of the Millennium, where peace, righteousness, and the teachings of Christ will prevail.

AMEN. Jesus, the Bible, Pearl of Great Price, and Book of Mormon are true as written, but NOT as taught. Around 135 AD, an Anti-Christ, Rome's Emperor Hadrian tortured and punished those obedient to YAHUVEH'S written commandments including holy Sabbath days of no work, and feasts. Christianity was made against our Heavenly Father's written wisdom and guidance; and it has never been corrected back to written truth.
ACTS 3:19-21 REPENT .... Messiah is retained in Heaven UNTIL the times of restitution of all things spoken by God to all His holy prophets from the beginning of the world.
    MATTHEW 5:17-20
Messiah fulfilled the prophecies in the Law and Prophets; He did NOT abolish them.
    DEUTERONOMY 5 Full Ten Commandments
    EXODUS 31:12-18 Sabbath
    LEVITICUS 23, 11, 26.
REVELATION 19 Messiah comes Victorious and His name is called The Word of God, Faithful and True, and has the testimony of Jesus Christ, Worship God.

You are advocating for a return to what they perceive as the original, uncorrupted teachings of God as outlined in the Bible and the Old Testament laws, suggesting that these have been lost or distorted by historical events and teachings, correct? - As you see it in or around 135 AD, the Roman Emperor Hadrian persecuted those who adhered to the commandments of Yahweh, including observance of the Sabbath and holy feasts. That this persecution led to Christianity diverging from what they see as the true teachings and practices of their faith. Correct?
