Avoiding the Pitfalls of Hypocrisy: Embracing True Discipleship in the Church
In this insightful video, we explore the concept of 'Potemkin Villages' and how it relates to our spiritual lives. The discussion begins with a historical account of Catherine the Great's visit to fake villages created by Gregory Potemkin to impress foreign ambassadors. This metaphor sets the stage for examining the dangers of superficial displays of faith and righteousness. The talk emphasizes the importance of genuine discipleship, urging us to focus on the condition of our hearts rather than outward appearances. Through personal stories and scriptural references, viewers are reminded to serve with humility, authenticity, and a sincere love for God and Jesus Christ, ultimately striving to become true, humble disciples.

    This man is shading, trying to mix (embodied God) with the Particular Incarnation of Savior Jesus Christ the Son! This is a part of the groundwork of a key doctrine of LDS, that "The Saints of The Church can/will become (gods/christs) sent into other Worlds, in like manner as Jesus came to our world! But Jesus Actually said that believers would be "In Him", then "He, in The Father"!

    John 8:24 Jesus said, that you shall DIE in your SINS: for if you believe not that I am he, you SHALL DIE IN YOUR SINS. (Verse 27 ) They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. If this doesn’t scare you, then you have probably obeyed Acts 2:38, and God has shown you that he is Jesus. If you have a separation of persons, you are serving three Gods!

    And there it is! The most evil doctrine known to man! Man is not responsible for the fruits of his decisions and efforts so long as they are good. That way, the church can claim possession of those fruits, or, at the very least 10% of them. You see, that was just God anyways. You don't have any of that wealth because you created it, it was magicked to you for reading your scriptures and wearing your garments. Notice they don't say that fruit of your evil choices are blessings of Satan. They don't pay for 10% of your losses or damages! No, you must shoulder that responsibility of your evil actions. This also lends them to the habit of believing that if their possessions increase, they are being blessed for the actions that led to the gain. The plunder of the nation and destruction of liberty through their investments is a prime example, as is the servitude the younger generations find themselves in because the church has dreams of being their feudal lord through all the properties they purchase and rent out. Causality be damned! To strip from man his virtue and leave to him his evil is the doctrine of communism. Millions have died for it.

      It’s important to clarify some key aspects of our beliefs. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we teach that while we strive to follow Jesus Christ and live according to His commandments, each individual is indeed responsible for their own choices and actions. We believe that the fruits of one’s efforts are a result of personal agency and divine blessings, and we encourage all to use their talents and resources wisely. The principle of tithing, which involves giving 10% of one's income to the Church, is intended to support the church’s mission, including humanitarian efforts and community support. This practice is a voluntary commitment and is not about claiming ownership of personal achievements. Regarding the responsibility for evil actions or losses, our doctrine emphasizes personal accountability. We believe in the principle of repentance and forgiveness, which allows individuals to seek forgiveness for their mistakes and to improve. It’s true that some people connect worldly wealth with success or acceptance from the Lord. However, as you’ve rightly pointed out, this view can be flawed. The Lord taught about the potential pitfalls of wealth when He asked a rich man to give up all that he had to follow Him, illustrating that material wealth is not a guarantee of divine favor or blessing (see Mark 10:21). Unlike communism, which is a forced system, Christ invited the rich man to make a voluntary choice, emphasizing the importance of motives and personal commitment. Christ expects us to be faithful, keep His commandments, and share the true gospel, including serving and feeding His sheep (see John 21:17). Please note that this post is nearing a breach of the comment guidelines shared in the video description. If you have further questions or concerns, I encourage you to explore more about our teachings and principles. We are always open to discussing our beliefs and addressing any misunderstandings.

      @TheWordsofChrist I took Henry's words as he spoke them. "It is easy to feel the blessings were granted......by our own powers." He implies in no unsure terms that this is an incorrect belief. It contradicts the core belief of agency. Why? Because it contradicts the law of causality. If man is not responsible for the fruits of his good actions, he cannot be responsible for the fruits of his evil actions. David Bednar made this same error when speaking to members in South America. What was he trying to convince them to do? Pay tithing. As he stated, they must give ten percent because their ability to earn, that's not them, it's God. It also contradicts the idea that we are sons and daughters of God. God, being an entity, has consciousness and power to act. We, as sons and daughters of God, share in his nature. We also have power to act of our own free will. Being an entity that has free will and the power to act on matter, we are able to create wealth through our efforts and energy expenditure. You cannot claim, "We believe men shall be punished for their own sins....." which implies responsibility for your ill deeds (actions) and also claim, as Eyring and Bednar both have, that you do not also bear responsibility and therefore ownership of your good deeds (actions). You cannot be both simultaneously responsible for your actions and not responsible for your actions. The two ideas are antithetical to each other. To try to believe both is an attempt to violate the law of contradiction.

      @@TheWordsofChrist Wealth is the manifestation of the creative power of man. If you believe that man comes from God, then it is a direct manifestation of the creative power of God. There is no pitfall to wealth. Wealth comes from man's moral action upon inanimate matter. To give up wealth, which sustains life, is to give up life and obtain death. It is a sacrifice. All sacrifices are evil. A sacrifice is giving up something of greater value for something of less value. Giving up something of lesser value to achieve greater value is called investment. Now acquiring wealth absent of moral action, that is indeed an issue. The LDS church does an enormous amount of that. If you compare Ensign Peak Financial Advisors 13F sheets with a list of the top 100 most law breaking and fined companies, you will find little difference. They profit immensely from plunder. They take your tithing money and give it to companies who commit plunder, aiding them in their immoral actions. This is easily proven with a basic inquiry into how the financial system works, and how the church invests.

    • @btrasbt
      @btrasbt 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheWordsofChrist An important idea in your doctrine is choosing good over evil. You are commanded to do so in LDS doctrine. That one piece of doctrine has contained within it the three laws of thought. 1. The law of identity. A=A, good=good, evil=evil 2. The law of contradiction. Good is the opposite of evil. They are antithetical to each other. 3. The law of the excluded third. There is no third option between good and evil. This one idea within your religion contains all of these laws. If you violate any of them, you have made an error in your reasoning and beliefs. If you try to justify any belief at the expense of one of these laws, you are attempting to extinguish your most primary and basic commandment contained within your religion: choose good over evil. Your prophets consistently attempt to violate these three laws. In the end it just makes them wrong. Laws cannot be broken. They are the parameters of reality.

      I have spent a significant amount of time addressing your other concerns here, and I understand that you may have strong feelings. However, I’ve noticed a continued rude tone in your comments. Please be aware that this behavior is in breach of the comment guidelines available in the video description. From our perspective, we believe that President Russell M. Nelson is a prophet called by God and guided by the Holy Spirit. The teachings and guidance provided by President Nelson align with our understanding of the gospel and the direction given in the scriptures. As it is written in Amos 3:7, "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets" (KJV). This verse underscores the role of prophets in receiving divine guidance. In the Bible, Jesus spoke about the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding and comforting believers: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26, KJV). We see the role of prophets and apostles, including President Nelson, as part of this divine guidance. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we firmly believe that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ. We do not worship anyone other than Him. Our faith is centered on His atoning sacrifice, which is the cornerstone of our salvation. We honor and worship Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer, recognizing that He is the only source of eternal life and true salvation. I encourage you to pray and study the scriptures to gain further understanding. We are always open to discussing our beliefs and sharing what we know to be true with you. If you could approach the conversation with a more respectful tone, it would be appreciated and help foster a more constructive dialogue on this TH-cam channel.

    The quran is teeming with literary and semitic complexity. It has been highly influential to not millions, but billions of people. Does that make it true? Guess what? Its false. Its repulsive. It contradicts itself. Belief in the disgusting book has caused the deaths of millions. The same can be said for Karl Marx's writings. See thats just the thing about faith. ANYTHING can be believed so long as you have faith in it. The faithful can never be moral. They refuse knowledge, which is required for a moral decision. You can hope a falsehood is true, and therefore act in error. You cannot know a falsehood is true.

    We also have concluded that after the dead sea scrolls were found they proved Josephs declaration that the bible wasnt translated correctly was FALSE!! we also can conclude after the interpretation of Egyptian papyrus that it was Joseph agian that was doing the work of the great deceiver

    • @TheWordsofChrist
      @TheWordsofChrist 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for sharing your perspective. It’s important to approach these discussions with an open mind and a willingness to understand different viewpoints. The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls has indeed provided valuable insights into the textual history of the Bible, primarily reaffirming the reliability of the Old Testament texts rather than addressing specific issues of translation or interpretation related to Joseph Smith. Regarding the Egyptian papyrus, interpretations of ancient texts can vary, and the understanding of these texts has evolved over time. In the case of the Book of Abraham, we hold that Joseph Smith's translation was divinely inspired, and this belief aligns with our understanding of prophetic revelation. The points you've raised are often discussed by those who challenge our faith in Jesus Christ and His teachings. However, these specific concerns have been thoroughly addressed and resolved positively by scholars and leaders in the field. As a result, these arguments are now considered outdated and no longer hold the same validity. For a more comprehensive understanding, I would encourage you to explore research into the Dead Sea Scrolls and the work of scholars like Margaret Barker, who, with 60 years of experience in this field of study, although not of our faith, provides significant insights into the historical and textual aspects of scripture. Her studies offer important context that might enrich the discussion. If you have further questions or would like to delve deeper into these topics, I’m here to help.

    Matthew 24 Jesus warned of false christs coming in the end times. Paul in galations 1 warns us that if even an angel from heaven comes and presents a different Jesus ,dont believe it

    • @TheWordsofChrist
      @TheWordsofChrist 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I appreciate your concern and understand where you’re coming from. It’s important to uphold the truth and remain faithful to the gospel as revealed in the scriptures. In Galatians 1:8, the Apostle Paul warns against accepting any other gospel: “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:8, KJV). We in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that the Book of Mormon and additional scriptures, including teachings from modern prophets, complement and enhance our understanding of the Bible rather than contradict it. We hold that the gospel of Jesus Christ is one and the same, as confirmed in the Bible, with its fullness being restored in our time. In John 14:26, Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit’s role in teaching and reminding us of all that He has said: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26, KJV). This promise includes the guidance given to prophets today, which aligns with the gospel teachings found in the Bible. Additionally, Revelation 14:6 speaks of an angel bringing the everlasting gospel to the earth: “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people” (Revelation 14:6, KJV). We believe that this angel is the angel Moroni, who, according to our belief, visited Joseph Smith and restored the fullness of the gospel in our time. We believe that the restoration of the gospel and the addition of the Book of Mormon are part of this ongoing revelation, not a different gospel, but a continuation and fulfillment of the divine message first given in the Bible. If you have further questions, I encourage you to explore the scriptures and teachings with an open heart and seek divine guidance through prayer. The World is seriously dumb. Look at Long Term consequences of how people live. You can live any way you want for 1 or 2 years. you can do drugs for a year and seem OK. Look down the road. 10 years, 20 years, 30 years. The real consequences CAN NOT be escaped from.

    Ask how your church arrives at its doctrine…tradition, interpretation of scripture, disputation, theology, or direct revelation from God.

    Isaiah 9:6 - Jesus, the Son is also the one true God.

      Thank you for bringing up Isaiah 9:6. This verse is indeed a profound declaration of Jesus Christ’s divine attributes, referring to Him as "The mighty God" and "The everlasting Father." However, this does not negate the concept of the Godhead, which comprises God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Ghost as distinct beings with distinct roles. In the Book of Mormon, we read in 2 Nephi 31:21, "And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God." This passage reaffirms Christ’s central role in our salvation while acknowledging the distinctiveness of His role within the Godhead. Moreover, when a man called Jesus "good," Jesus responded, “Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God” (Mark 10:18). This response reflects that while Jesus is divine, He distinguished His role from God the Father, highlighting the separate roles within the Godhead. In John 17:1-3, Jesus prayed to the Father, saying, "These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee." This further illustrates the distinction between Jesus and the Father. The concept of "oneness" that has confused much of the Christian faith is more closely related to various creeds rather than to the scriptures themselves. For example, the Nicene Creed (325 AD) and the Athanasian Creed (circa 500 AD) were significant in defining the doctrine of the Trinity in ways that differ from the scriptural depiction of the Godhead. These creeds were developed during theological debates and represent specific interpretations of Christian doctrine rather than a direct reflection of biblical texts. It’s important to know the Bible and study its words carefully. The scriptures themselves provide clarity on these matters, while the creeds, developed during periods of theological debate, do not always represent the Bible’s teachings as recorded. God, knowing all things, foresaw a time of apostasy and a "famine of hearing the words of the Lord." Amos 8:11-12 prophesies, "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it." In this context, John in the Book of Revelation saw an angel come forward before the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior to restore the everlasting Gospel. Revelation 14:6-7 describes this angel as proclaiming, “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.” This angel was Moroni, who brought the record of ancient prophets, known as the Book of Mormon. This record supports the Bible and clarifies many misunderstandings, including the nature and roles of the Godhead, providing additional insights and context. Additionally, the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist is a clear example of the presence and distinct roles of all three members of the Godhead. In Matthew 3:16-17, it states, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” This event shows Jesus being baptized, the Holy Ghost descending as a dove, and the voice of God the Father declaring His approval, illustrating their distinct, yet unified, roles. If you’re interested in exploring this topic further, I’d be happy to discuss it more with you.
