Wow!! That is my testimony I found the restored gospel through teaching a world religion class. Later that same year the missionaries came to my house to teach me about the Book of Mormon and joseph smith. I later got baptized and now just waiting for my year mark to get endowed., 🙏

I used to be a secretary at BYU and at one point I worked for a British Shakespearian scholar and convert, Dr. Arthur Henry King who gained a testimony reading the words of Joseph Smith because Joseph spoke so simply and honestly. Brother King had a great spiritual discernment when people expressed themselves by the words they used, the placement of the words... I’ve never met anyone like him in that regard. He loved and respected Joseph Smith and had a strong testimony. Thank you again for “being here” for us again. I think you can tell by our comments that we find in you something very special. God bless you in this sacred work and in your personal lives and all the obstacles you have and do overcome to have the wisdom and strong testimonies and abilities to teach and live as you do.🌹

Fantastic lesson. I´m so blessed with these video lessons with you two.I´ve learned so much.. When brother Taylor told about his experience on his mission I remembered that when I was on my mission in Chicago. At that time we had to memorize the First Vision and recite word perfect to our investigators. Although it was memorized, every time my companion or I told the account of the First Vision I felt the power of the Truth! I felt the Holy Ghost filling the air with the Truth. Even today when I tell anybody this account I still feel it is a sacred and true account. I do know with all my heart and mind that Joseph really saw the Father and the Son. You guys did a great job on discussing the variations on retelling accounts. A great job! I’d like to add one thing to it, if I may. I learned it years ago in my psychology 101 class-the very basic, beginner psychology class- that Joseph’s various accounts of the first vision is a textbook example of how memory actually works. It’s true that we customize our retellings of accounts according to context, but it’s also true that we give differing accounts at different times simply because we’re remembering different aspects of it in that moment. My textbook used the example of eyewitness accounts of car accidents and perpetrators. A witness may honestly remember other details in a second (or 3rd or 4th, etc.) telling of what a person looks like, etc. In short, it is basic human behavior to give various accounts of a memory simply because that is how human memory works. I doubt any psychologist would ever make the argument that Joseph was inconsistent in his telling of the first vision because they understand psychology 101. 101, man! This is basic, intro to psych stuff! It’d be weird if we DIDN’T have various accounts of the first vision.
In season three, episode twelve of the Dick Van Dyke show, there is a good example of this phenomenon despite being a fictional tale. The Dick Van Dyke show is currently (December 2020) free to watch on Amazon Prime in the US, btw.
In these crazy times the world tells us all these different things we need to be focused on, rarely does it align with the Lord's instruction. I've prayed and prayed because I don't want to fail Him, the guidance I repeatedly get is to keep myself unspotted of the world in order to hear Him, and to continue feeding His sheep. Let us portray His light and love, He wants ALL OF US to turn to Him, He who is mighty to save! Your classes or lessons, truly feed His sheep. Please know your efforts are not only loved and appreciated by the Savior but we His sheep are grateful for and edified by what you teach. The Spirit testifies in my heart the truth of these teachings. Its a gift of the spirit that you teach the eternal truths plainly, and that His sheep hear it and recognize His truth and follow Him. Hi Taylor: There is research that suggests that liars memorize a narrative to maintain consistency so when asked to recall the event in question, they stick to that script to avoid detection or to appear inconsistent. Conversely, truthtellers often add additional details to a narrative on subsequent occasions because they recall from memory additional information. (Source: Harvey, Vrij, Sarikas, Leal, Jupe, & Nahari, 2017). So there is scientific research that concurs with Joseph's story changing over time, as you mentioned. Thanks for your videos, they are the highlight of my weekly study.
Thank you very much for a great lesson! The very first testimony I received in 1999 on the night I had visited my first future ward I Norway after I meet the missionary that Sunday and they gave me the pamphlet of Joseph Smith first vision, at the very moment I read that he saw Heavenly Fader and Jesus, I just knew it was true! That testimony is ongoing the strongest I have, every time I share it or thinking of it, even now when I write this, the spirit testifies for me that it’s true!

So far we have adopted 4 children from local here, and no 5 is in the works now. That’s the main reason the Lord had us to go here... Long story, yes the Lord knows us by name and He wants us to fulfill our missions here on the earth, and it’s important that we find out what He wants us to do! 😊

Thanks so much Brother Taylor and Tyler. Refreshing my testimony during my Baptism.. I prayed a lot then my friends from different sects encouraged me to join their church. I was confused and I knew I have the desire to change my religion..I was a Catholic then. I sincerely prayed then one day missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints invited me to visit the congregation and really felt the Holy Ghost during those classes and singing and most of all the messages of The Book of Mormon answered my prayers. Really thankful for my Baptism in this true church.. I stumbled a lot but I know the lines.. LINE UPON LINE PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT taught me important lessons in life especially my covenant to Him nearly 13 years of being a member of this church.. Really appreciate both of you❤️❤️

As someone that wants everything I'm studying in order and well understood before continuing, I have struggled with the Book of Mormon and The Doctrine and Covenants in the several years since my becoming a member. The couple of years leading up to and the year 2020, with all their changes and uncertainties for me, blessed me with two things in particular.... A determination to make scripture study a priority, not just a dutiful requirement and the discovery of Book of Mormon Central. I still have a long way to go but dedicating a significant part of my life to study and your assistance in understanding the lesson at hand as well as encouraging my curiosity and interest to continue with connected topics has been a turning point for me that affects all aspects of my desire for a more Christ-centered life. Thank you both and others that assist you. Please know that you all do indeed make a difference in the lives of those you serve.

Learning about the gospel means searching and studying the scriptures. In this class I learned that being a member of the true church not necessarily means that everything is going to be easy on the contrary, things can be rough but at the end it will be worth it. Great class, y gracias.

A wonderful lesson! Brings to mind the day I gained a testimony of Joseph Smith truly being a prophet of God, And would you believe that didn't happen until ten years after joining the church? I believed the gospel was true from the very first lesson with the missionaries, and I believed JS was a prophet, but when the spirit finally confirmed it years later (on I-215 on my way home from grocery shopping), the tears came in a rush and it was hard to see enough to drive. Such an amazing moment for me!
Thank you for this great lesson. As a converted, I love to read the account of the First Vision. I joined the church when I was 17 and I still remember when the missionaries taught me about the First Vision, besides feeling the Spirit so strong, I also had the feeling that everything made sense for me that I didn't have to search anymore, I knew that it was all true.
It’s my second time to watch this presentation. It made me more realize the importance of Joseph Smith role in this last dispensation. I am more grateful to him for his perseverance in seeking the truth that lead him to the restoration of the truthfulness of the gospel. Can't tell you how much I appreciate both of you (Taylor & Tyler) for keeping the focus on Jesus Christ, His Church and kingdom, His prophets and apostles, His revelations, and never once bringing attention to yourselves. Also, I love the fact that you trust us ... that is to say, you don't water things down or try to "entertain" us, but trust us to "Come Follow Him" by feasting on the uplifting, spiritually edifying power that comes from pure doctrine and enlightening, Spirit-confirming pondering and study. Lastly, thanks Taylor for your very insightful additions to each lesson. You may speak less, but you greatly add to my spiritual experiences. Thank you both for taking the time each week to have the Spirit as your companions so that you are able to teach by the Spirit.

Thanks so much Brother Taylor and Tyler. Refreshing my testimony during my Baptism.. I prayed a lot then my friends from different sects encouraged me to join their church. I was confused and I knew I have the desire to change my religion..I was a Catholic then. I sincerely prayed then one day missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints invited me to visit the congregation and really felt the Holy Ghost during those classes and singing and most of all the messages of The Book of Mormon answered my prayers.
Really thankful for my Baptism in this true church.. I stumbled a lot but I know the lines.. LINE UPON LINE PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT taught me important lessons in life especially my covenant to Him nearly 13 years of being a member of this church..

As someone that wants everything I'm studying in order and well understood before continuing, I have struggled with the Book of Mormon and The Doctrine and Covenants in the several years since my becoming a member. The couple of years leading up to and the year 2020, with all their changes and uncertainties for me, blessed me with two things in particular.... A determination to make scripture study a priority, not just a dutiful requirement and the discovery of Book of Mormon Central. I still have a long way to go but dedicating a significant part of my life to study and your assistance in understanding the lesson at hand as well as encouraging my curiosity and interest to continue with connected topics has been a turning point for me that affects all aspects of my desire for a more Christ-centered life. Thank you both and others that assist you. Please know that you all do indeed make a difference in the lives of those you serve.

Learning about the gospel means searching and studying the scriptures. In this class I learned that being a member of the true church not necessarily means that everything is going to be easy on the contrary, things can be rough but at the end it will be worth it. Great class, y gracias.

A wonderful lesson! Brings to mind the day I gained a testimony of Joseph Smith truly being a prophet of God, And would you believe that didn't happen until ten years after joining the church? I believed the gospel was true from the very first lesson with the missionaries, and I believed JS was a prophet, but when the spirit finally confirmed it years later (on I-215 on my way home from grocery shopping), the tears came in a rush and it was hard to see enough to drive. Such an amazing moment for me!

Thank you for this great lesson. As a converted, I love to read the account of the First Vision. I joined the church when I was 17 and I still remember when the missionaries taught me about the First Vision, besides feeling the Spirit so strong, I also had the feeling that everything made sense for me that I didn't have to search anymore, I knew that it was all true.

It’s my second time to watch this presentation. It made me more realize the importance of Joseph Smith role in this last dispensation. I am more grateful to him for his perseverance in seeking the truth that lead him to the restoration of the truthfulness of the gospel.
