Everything points to a spun rod bearing. Looks like you'll be looking at a rebuild. Most likely the result of crappy maintenance, before you bought the car. Best of luck to you in getting this thing repaired.
I know the newer ones look a bit cleaner inside but i like my DBA because i was able to add the trex screen I seen some shops in texas that do rebuilds for 14k just looked for 1min but i would take a look around and maybe save up for a rebuild you would essentially have a new car and still be about where most avg gtrs that year sell for
I’m going to keep it real with you brother in my opinion business man to business man do what’s right you’ll come back stronger then ever these cars aren’t going anywhere and if you really sell all the cars and reinvest into the business you’ll make ten times over grace of God and you’ll be able to buy two gtrs if you wanted too I had a similar situation happen to my Evo 8 but someone rear ended me but I was out the scene for sometime then when I was ready and business was right I bought my other dream car a fk8 so have faith man you got this 💯💯
oh yeah wow. Any GTR in that purchase price range was going to be a timebomb. at least with a new motor minus the other mods and labor, cars still a good deal, assuming the trans isnt about too also die.
I would take all the Mods off, those were a ton of money, sell them all, turn the car back to stock, with the reclaimed costs of the mods, use that to start fixing the car and restoring it. stock wheels and power while it's being restored is better than a paperweight. then once you've got it sorted back out and running properly, you can go back to the non-essentials like. wheels and downpipes and so on.
Try to stay positive cause that's the only thing you can control at the moment. Buying modded cars like these is always a risk as we all know. Sell the aftermarket parts off the GTR and use that to build the bottom end. If you can afford to sell some other cars and save up, then do that because the cost of these GTRs are holding strong and you will be paying more when you are back in the market years from now. Above all else, focus on your health, family, and business. These cars come and go and it hurts to set a dream car aside, but its for the better cause.
Buy a short block, do the rebuild yourself be meticulous and learn more about the platform, so you’ll save tons of money in the long run as far as working on the GTR
Dang that’s a tough one. If it’s your dream car sell the subie. If you really need the subie for winter then sell the gtr and find one later down the road.
Sorry about your car. Can you afford to park it up for a year or two ? Write off the 40k like a business then when the time comes get it repaired because if you believe the pundits it will be a collector car & go up in price. You just gotta be patient. Good luck.
Because some things in life are worth saving, my dream GTR being one of them. It’s not always about newer and nicer, sometimes it’s about fixing what you already have.
@@adamhouston4299 I totally understand , didn’t mean for it to sound like ur dumb for doing what your doing bc I wish I could do the same thing , I was just thinking simply cost saving wise bc you asked .
@@MindWaterrr just wanted you to know my mindset, I’d love to buy a 2017+ GTR but I also would love to build this one to be perfect. Plus I’ll never in my life find a better deal than this 😂
hey whats up dude, just randomly saw ur video on my yt page. yah, older cars will need a lot more time to work on. there's a lot of things on there that need a rebuild so they can work as new. I'd rather just go for a newer car 2021+ and start from there.
@@adamhouston4299 I had done some research on GTRs before, people say 2019+ will be better, anything before that will need a transmission job. But I bet you probably know more since you already bought the car. What made me changed my mind was the services required…
Adam!!! Just hold onto her!!! NEVER Quit!!!
Thanks for sharing the cost breakdown and being transparent
Bro it’s Evret. I’m so sorry that happened to you. You’ll get her running again

Yeah around 15k is just the rebuild then I’m sure there’s other things I’ll need

Definitely sell. Fix the up subi. Sell. Then get into a mint GTR
Yeah it’s just hard to let go of something I’ve spent so much time to try and make perfect

Trans is supposedly built by jacks transmission so once motor is built she should be reliable

Yeah the GTR is my baby. I like the subie but it doesn’t compare the r35
Let the car sit. Save up some money and build it right. Since you bought it outright its not like it hurts you to let it sit until you can fix it.
Keep it , don’t sell it when time is right buy another engine.

Even if you put it to the side for a year and save a little bit to fix that’s also an option , who said it has to go right back on the road tomorrow ?
You make a good point. Maybe just let her sit till I can do it right
Life sucks. To much torque for stockies...
But bare block is 6,6-7k NEW.
Where’s the wife been?
I feel like they split up but idk
She’s been focusing on herself and career
Why not just sell everything and finance like an 80k 2014 or 2015 GTR with better shape engine ?
