Adam, It looks like you learned a hard lesson about threaded fasteners. You should have lubricated that banjo bolt with engine oil before installing it. That might have prevented the damage to the soft aluminum housing. You're getting there, young man!
Truly inspiring, never heard that anybody would’ve built a gtr in their 2 car garage. My own story is that I dreamed to own an sti at the earliest at the age of 25. Long story short my dad has had plenty of evos and sti’s so at the time 1 year ago I bought a heavily built sti 6spd swapped 04 fxt from him. After a hell lot of double and night shifts I have paid the car and built everything apart from the motor and trans again due to salty winters here in Finland. I’m 19 year old and own my dream car which I only could have dreamed about 1 year ago. The car has taught me everything and I recently open source tuned it myself. Thing is pushing 400whp and oh man does it feel good to smoke sti’s in a goofy shoebox shaped forester😂 Did what I thought was impossible and I’m 6 years early.
Not sure about GTR, but in the evo world, idle surge is usually caused by a faulty Idle air control valve (IACV) and after i replaced it, no more issue
