    I also really want Davinci resolve to accept Prores raw as a raw standard, it really needs to happen now that cameras are starting to ship with the codec

    • @jacqueslombart5242
      @jacqueslombart5242 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, this possibility is not about to happen quickly given the different policies between Blackmagic and Apple.
      In the meantime, there is a way to easily transform ProresRaw into Cinema DNG that fits into Davinci Resolve perfectly. And with sound and time code. Application on macOS only: Raw Convertor.
      There are already plenty of modules available, including the DJI 4D, several Sony and Panasonic, Zcam, Nikon and more.
      Of course, it's slow, requires a lot of computing power, but opens the doors of Resolve for almost all ProresRaw!!! And Assimilate PlayProStudio do the same thing with more possibilities and more expensive
      My two cents...

    Adam, really great update on what new you've done in this ecosystem. While my concern has always been with the DJI camera sensor (I've tested the 4D with a number of larger format lenses with some really good and some not-so-desirable image results - can be a separate discussion).
    What I am curious about was your crash cam segment and the tripod/monopod you used 1) for camera pull/push shot as well as how you used it as a jib, 2) how you extended and balanced the extended tri/monopod in a steadi rig for REALLY long reach?
    The reason for the 2nd Q is I've used a few hacks to extend my own steadicam rig w/ gimbal to get more height on what amounts to a jib shot off of a steadicam rig. I have several cams (red, sony, arri) in addition to the 4D available that I want to test this with - just for the sake of comparison and when/where I might employ any one of these options.

    • @BestboyAdam
      @BestboyAdam  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, in fact and on the boom and on the seagway I used a monopod (I believe it is some model sirui carbon, I do not remember the exact model)
      I used to put my camera there as a counterweight, the fact that it was not perfectly balanced, but for those purposes it was ok.

    wow! Thank u..Love from Nepal...

  • @zengze1
    @zengze1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It’s much improved now with this flex addition. However I still see a few issues limiting the useability:
    1. No way to use larger cine lenses with stabilization. They could have set the weight limit to at least 1.5kg. That would have allowed for the use of some cine lenses.
    2. As far as I know, mattebox is also nit possible with stabilization. Maybe with a lightweight mattebox it’s ok, but where to put the lidar? This one is crucial. For a pro use one has to have a way to control light entering the lens.

    • @BestboyAdam
      @BestboyAdam  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      oh yes, a longer cable for the Lidar sensor would certainly be useful.
      As for the lenses, you know I'm not complaining because basically all the lenses I have work great.

  • @CassiusTheShow
    @CassiusTheShow ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Adam, these videos are amazing -- quick question for you! Have you tried the Ronin 4D with Tilta Float and the quick release adapter? Eliminating the post from the system... it would give you the double stabilization without the need for a counterweight. I just did a documentary shoot with it and found the stabilization to be unbelievably good, if the system's weighting a bit tricky especially over a long shooting day.
    I'm sure you've tried it & still prefer having the post for the different camera moves you can do, correct?

    the 4D seems like a game changer to me! Can anyone tell me if there would be a big difference in quality between the 4D and a Red camera for example? I'd never buy a Red camera at this point as it is waaaaay to expensive. The 4D is affordable in comparison. And with flex, it got even crazier!

What are the clamps called that you put on the bottom of the 4D at 7min31 in the video, and also what is the boom pole and the extra large stand at the end of the pole at 7min36 in the video. The only new feature worth mentioning is GPS for tilting compensation. But it technically can't perform properly. As with fast turns during the ride GPS can not detect the momentum and centrifugal forces that make gimpbal tilt.

    Gimbal on a gimbal. That's AWESOME. Now...can we PLEASE get proper A7SIII-level rolling shutter? Because that's the biggest drawback to this setup, price notwithstanding. It's crazy to think that just $150K total worth of hardware (gimbals, cameras, lenses, tripods, monopods, car mounts/cranes, microphones, and even lights) is enough for a 3 or 4 angle setup these days, which is pretty much all you need for any single shot if you want multiple areas of coverage. And you can shoot anything from a low-budget commercial all the way to a multi-million-dollar Netflix production with it.
