I think these club-building videos with presenter Chris Trott are in their own unique, one-of-a-kind video category on TH-cam -- and that's saying something. (If Callaway, Ping, Titleist, Srixon, et al. have posted similar "behind the scenes with the pros" videos, I haven't seen them.) And like badbilly429 says below, they're always interesting & they never get old. Thanks & keep up the great work, Trottie!
If Scottie has an old Stealth2 Driver lying around I'd love to swing it! My Nike VR Pro Limited might be a bit out of date from 2011.. still have the 3 wood like he used to swing as well! Hope he takes back #1!
Videographer went all out for the cinematic look. If they're using a Pro Mist filter, I suggest maybe trying Black Satin. Would provide similar effect but a little grittier so Trottie doesn't look so soft and heavenly lol.
It looked great I don't know why you nerds are so picky about this stuff just because you studied it... Not only would no one notice nobody cares when it already looks great
Hell it's impossible to get most the stuff you see in these videos from TaylorMade. Tried to order some p770 irons yesterday. wanted to try a regular Flex iron shaft I wanted to hard step 2x.. they have one option in regular flex out of all their steel shafts... you can't even find ANY dynamic gold shaft in regular Flex from TaylorMade, Nor kbs, nor Nippon only one option in project X...wtf? What a joke TaylorMade
How do u adjust Scottie's driver swing weight with shorter and heavier shaft at D4? I've seen that Scottie's setup of driver is 45' and D4, but 45' length could have LOW swing weight in general.
so with the tour pros being so particular about everything, when they go up or down in loft on the shaft do they come back to the truck and get a new grip on it since it would then be twisted?
Trottie, how often do you build drivers for these guys per season? Why the change after the WM? What did you change on his driver setup since his last event with it? Love the club making videos!
It's probably just scotties 'build' but not the one he gamed with, easy to just remove the grip and tape and head and put them back in the drawers, or just give it out for a competition or something as marketing material
Great video Trottie! Question for you: Does Scottie play his driver 3/4” shorter? I believe that’s what I heard in the video? TM stock is 45.75” and he wants 45”?
Is there any counter weighting used or counter balancing? Just wondering since that is rarely discussed yet seems to be a norm now days in club making.
Is there a link to the special torque weight wrench? If a normal person moves those weights does it need more or less torque from the normal tool? 12:38
What swing weight does Scotty play? U lose about 4.5 swing weights from the length, so I'm assuming you put at least 9grams of extra head weight for stock SW?
Yeah, will play a smidge longer, other method is to take account for the grip cap and cut the shaft 1/8th shorter than the total desired playing length
I was told, some pros don't like looking at logos or graphics and ask for them to be underneath. A guy once told me, Golf Pride isn't paying me so I put their logo underneath.
I didn’t know that they were literally using fargiveness until like two days ago. I just thought they used it as like a funny pun in that commercial because Rory has that weird accent, and he just says it that way. SUPER cringe that they’re actually using this😂
The majority of people watching this video can't relate to it as they don't have a million-dollar tailor-made TaylorMade (!) tour truck at their local golf club! Let's talk about the stealth Stealth 2 retail pricing model, shall we?
Y'all never talk about frequency in these shafts. I know your not just picking a shaft and tipping it 1". That would be how an amateur would build a club. I'm assuming behind the scenes y'all have every shaft pured and frequencied for each player. I'm not a pro but I can tell you if my shaft is 2-3 cycles too firm so I know those guys are even more sensitive to those numbers than I am. I've been building clubs for about 15 years now and a player with 114 mph club head speed needs a diff frequency than a 116mph club head speed. So just reaching into that drawers and pulling a shaft out is really leaving the viewers out of some really important stuff that goes on before those shaft are allowed to be put into those drawers.
Mass production aren’t the club face and lying goes all the same answer no can the general public get a flat or Langell answer the question probably no
Here after Scottie's 2nd Masters win. Literally my entire TH-cam feed is Scottie right now.
no matter how many times I watch these videos they never get old!
As you have a pro v1 as your profile picture

Saw someone ask for this exact type of video last week and TM delivered. Love the content.
First time watching something like this, such attention to detail!
It was nice to see a club building video back in the truck. Its been a minute
Crazy how sensitive these guys are to any little thing, but reminders in my grip drive me crazy. Lol. This was a great video!!!

Trotty rocking the Pepsi. Noting the old Sub he used to have too.
Love the build videos, keep ‘em comin 🙌
Well done Chris 👏
Cheers Roy 👍🏻
Love the kettle Trottie ,beautiful Pepsi 😍
TROTTIE i love these videos man :)
Great build
Just a unique perspective every time
Trottie is the man
Would love to learn more about those training grips Scottie uses!
Pretty sure they are just the lamkin training grip. Used for hand placement.

What a legend. Love that kind of video
Top brand by a mile when it comes to this stuff. Love it.
Content yes, but every brand has a team like this on Tour. TM is just way better at marketing.
@@CosmicApe Like I said, making them the top brand by a mile when it comes to this stuff. Haha.
nice titleist truck in the back
So what SW does he play in his driver?
I love how guys put out a driver and don’t sell heavier weights. Smart marketing team over there at TaylorMade

Do you check the shaft oscillation prior to the final curing process?
Great video.
6 Tapes is wild, I bet he would switch to a mid size grip if we was doing his grips himself lol
Love the watch
That music needs to come down my guys.
What is the finished swing weight?
Love trotie

This video likely wasn't filmed this week
@@RetroRepairs he said it was at genesis this week

Great video Trottie! Question for you: Does Scottie play his driver 3/4” shorter? I believe that’s what I heard in the video? TM stock is 45.75” and he wants 45”?
That’s a pretty short driver buddy…
@@PH-kp7qx good catch… meant 45 not 35 haha
its 45" trimmed on the shaft so including the grip it plays as a 45.25" so its a half inch shorter than stock
You unscrew the driver after lining it up? How do you ensure the graphics are still lined up after torquing on the head screw?
once it's lined up it doesn't move, it's torquing on the spot
Where and when do you find out you need, 1,2,3 plus layers of tape? You can order extra but who does these fittings?
Is “pureing” golf shafts a thing, or just upsell rubbish from the big box club fitters?
@taylormade Where does one find the head weights - 19g back 18g front etc.? Looks like alot of places tap out at 14 grams.
How do you get those bottom weights for the stealth 2+ ?
Is there any counter weighting used or counter balancing? Just wondering since that is rarely discussed yet seems to be a norm now days in club making.
Is there a link to the special torque weight wrench? If a normal person moves those weights does it need more or less torque from the normal tool? 12:38
The wrench is universal. It works for both.
I have seen a few of these video and notice that you never SST Pure the shaft.
Is Puring a gimmick or does it really make a difference ?
What swing weight does Scotty play? U lose about 4.5 swing weights from the length, so I'm assuming you put at least 9grams of extra head weight for stock SW?
“Stock” swingweight would be with a 60ish gram shaft. In this video it is a 70ish gram shaft. Heavier the shaft the higher the swingweight.
D3.
What was the stock weight before 19’and 18 were put in ?
How often do players replace their drivers and irons?
How did Scotty cave in the face on likely THIS driver you built for him at the US Open?
That watch though
Is this a standard tour velvet?
Entertaining
Do these guys get new clubs every tournament or something?
Does "45 cut" mean the shaft length is 45"?
Yeah, will play a smidge longer, other method is to take account for the grip cap and cut the shaft 1/8th shorter than the total desired playing length
Loft sleeves for tm drivers are 1,5 degs now?
Tour Preferred TM adapters are 1.5*
dream van❤
Seems criminal to say swing weight and balance point are the most important part then not give us the swing weight...
Are there pro’s who request pure’ing or spine’ing shafts or are they all pretty much “I want the graphics aligned this way.”
I was told, some pros don't like looking at logos or graphics and ask for them to be underneath. A guy once told me, Golf Pride isn't paying me so I put their logo underneath.
How long for the grip to set up?
Where were the other 2 tapes?
Exactly,,,,only 4 Scotty going to be mad
You have to understand that the tape layers are actually thick and it feels like 6 when it’s actually 4
@@RyTheGolfGuy that's not what trotti said ,he said Scotty likes 6 double sided tape and he only put four
Does Scottie not get his head hot melt?
They must have cut them out…. Trust me I put on 6️⃣
In this video he said it needed to be tipped. He never cut the tip end.
No shaft puring?
So where’s his driver he bloody won few weeks back ? Given / thrown away ?
why didn’t rory or tiger use them on thurs?
I want one
Actually he just built my daily! 👍
6 wraps on a TV standard is crazy
Especially because he uses a 58 tour velvet..could’ve used a 60 instead of it?!🤔
Whenever I hear Fargivness it makes me cringe.
Why?
@@georgepyle4244 My guess is because it’s super corny
It’s forgiveness, they say far to hype up the driver. It’s a catchphrase that Rory made up when he was describing the driver to Colin and Tiger
I didn’t know that they were literally using fargiveness until like two days ago. I just thought they used it as like a funny pun in that commercial because Rory has that weird accent, and he just says it that way.
SUPER cringe that they’re actually using this😂
@@RyTheGolfGuy I assure you, Rory didn't make anything up. He's paid to say it
Was this made for the WM

Then I'm old enough to remember striking a match on my jeans.
I want 20 wraps 😂
Imagine having a contract requiring you to non-ironically say "fargiveness"
Fine, I’ll buy one if you guys promise to never say “fargiveness” again
So, 59° lie, is he in the “upright” setting? Any face angle adjustments?
So many buzz-words…
I can't belived he unironicaly said "Fargiveness" jesus christ

As if any club builder has a "Curing Oven"..
Woof
Goodness me, sensitive creatures aren't they hahah
Get rid of the music playing in the background, or at least turn it down. It’s too loud and competing with what he’s trying to say.
Build rorys like this one Maybe his doesn't have enough "fargivness" In his 🤣
$800 for average Joe's. I'll pass.
Please, please stop saying "fargiveness".

Fargiveness
i'm out as soon as he said "maximize fargiveness", sorry
All good till the carbon fiber face breaks off
Shame cheater is used with Taylor. Just saying.
This was over produced.
This is the most annoying guy in golf
Does the balance point whilst the grip/tape is soaking wet?
