- This is how I upgraded my Nitro 5 Ram from 8GB to 32 GB, guide only and if you do it, its at your own risk, may void your warranty if you damage components around where your working on. It takes a short period for your Nitro to recognize the Ram. If it is taking too long, power down and remove and reinsert the RAM again.

Acer does not use a separate tool to remove the back cover on these series as it can be scratched. Unscrew all the screws, then hold the upper right side of the cover and gently pull it towards you, the cover will open easily.

Hi, I have this same model and upgraded to 2x16 gb 3200mhz but my speed reduced to 2667 mhz. Should i manually set ram frequency in bios from auto to 3200 ?
i have same pc , but when i check my ram slots via windows it shows i got 8 slots and 7 are empty. secondly when i check via command prompt it shows maximum ram capacity is 128 gb?

I think you use the Nitro Software. Some Nitros are only backlit with one colour.
I have acer nitro 5 an515-55, can i use this exact ram brand and max capacity like yours?

My laptop is still under warranty and I didn’t want to muck around with over clocking, my nitro can only handle basic gaming so I kept to the specs they recommend in the manual for my model which should be the maximum speed The laptop is rated at.

yes,Task Manager and click More Details > Performance > Memory.
Your RAM speed, in MHz (megahertz), is under the graph next to Speed.

@@CapzsparttanZ my max speed is 2667MHz, It’s only a cheap laptop for basic gaming, the max speed of the new ram are rated 3200Mh , I don’t think you can use max speed as the bios don’t offer the Xmp profile, I could not even get onto an advanced menu for my Nitro. If you find a way, just be careful it may harm your laptop.
I wanted to upgrade my storage with crucial mx500 1TB 2.5 SSD but after it was installed, my nitro 5 won't boot up. The screen is just black, if I disconnect the SSD it boots up just fine, any idea what could be the problem? Thank you.
Hook up your hard drive first then get into your bios, select your original Hard drive that has your operating system installed as your first boot device , save then exit.
Does it support 2 of 32 gb ddr4 3200 in both slots to make it to 64 gb?
no, this particular model (AN515-57) support only 32 gb
@@frizxalex it is all models. i put 32 gb there, it became 40 gb. You can't say not this particular model. You need to google what does this motherboard support and what does the cpu support. If both motherboadr support 64gb. then this whole laptop support 64 gb. Got it?

Hardly any left available. I was able to find some 3200mhz c16 at the end of the market last year, but nothing faster than 3200mhz C20 sodimm has been spotted for several months now.

Not if your careful, things like damage the components trying to open the back of the case or forcing a part in can cause damage. Static electricity are all possible risks, if your not confident, best get an expert to do it.

Do you know if it's still able to run at boost speeds. I read that using this ram may limit the clock speed to 2666mhz. Please let me know I'm thinking about purchasing the same ram if it's not limited.
Not sure, I remember trying to enable over clocking at the bios , but cant find the setting. So I assume my laptop dont have it.
Does it matter what kind of brand I get?
I would try to get the same brand, but other brands with the same specs should work ok.
I have a question, I have 8 gb of samsung single rank ram model ( 1Rx8) with this laptop, I want to upgrade to 16 gb but the samsung ram model isn't available in my country, a crucial model is there with same specifications with dual rank (2Rx8) should I buy this or go for single rank model of crucial? Will there be any compatibility issues with single and dual rank running together?
The best is to match the rams with same specs/speed and the same chips inside even if its different brand, cant go wrong with buying the exact samsung replacement. If you cant get it, stick to Ram kits, 2x8gb or why not 2x16gb. However I have mix and matched Rams in my older laptops and most of the times it works fine, but if you want re-use your old stick to save money go to the supplier tell him you want to upgrade to 16 and have a Samsung Ram/specs.. and you want a equivalent, make sure you can get a refund if it doesn’t work. any ram company name should work fine! as long as you have it as a SODIMM and at the same ram speed as your nitro 5, My AN515-57-535Z is a 3200mhz model so i bought 2x16gb ram sticks with both 3200mhz and put it in and it works nicely~ just make sure what number of mhz you need for your laptop's max capability :D

I have always assumed it was maxed at 3200Mhz, that’s the speed the laptop memory came with. But I bet it’s slightly slower.

It sometimes takes a bit of time to recognise it, if it don’t take it out again and reinsert it make sure it clips.
@@LQQKn4Laughs I saw online to wait a few minutes and I did so and got a black screen still, I also tried testing each ram individually and they both worked individually. So I'm not sure what the issue is
@@StreetkillnHD are both Rams the same specs, so your just adding one new ram with the ram that came with your laptop. You would think it would still boot up showing just one ram. But black screen, did not even make it to bios, would be a Ram issue.
Hi, i have an Acer Nitro AN517-52, Intel i5, Geforce 1650 GTX, 8GB Ram 3200mhz DDR4 dual channel. I was wondering if its possible to fit Corsair Vengeance 2 x 8Gb 2400mhz DDR4?, i know the lowest Mhz you can go is 2600, but i'm just asking out of curiosity. Cheers.
You can but you will reduce the max speed of your Ram to a max of 2400mhz, better to buy an 1 extra 8GB 3200mhz and add it to your existing Ram.

If you want to add a Ram, it is best to get one with exactly the same matching specifications as the one you have. It is best to take your one out of the laptop to your supplier and ask them for a matching ram and make sure you can get a refund if it doesn’t work.

whats your laptop ideal temperature ? mine is around 52 - 60 is it okay ?
Fluctuates, hottest during gaming, worst during hot weather. And how long you use it for, you can tell when your laptop fan spins faster. Computers all have a thermal cut off, so if the temperature is too hot for the components inside it will automatically shut down.
@@bestsydneyparks9164 goes 92 while gaming not beyond that , i haven't cleaned it for a year(since i bought) due to warranty issue .
@@bestsydneyparks9164 update temperature sits around 42 - 45 hot summer and 88 at gaming with normal thermal paste.

Woe, $700 Australian Dollars for the Razer Core X, may be better to fork out for a better laptop. Did you see the alternate ways , plenty youtube vids on removing the the wifi card and using its pci slot for an adapter, more risky but cheap way to getting a external gpu. Yes, I installed a 2.5 SSD, cause I use mine for gaming and video editing.

@@vrindadasi8932 my model has already a M.2 SSD when I bought it, I added 1x 2.5 ssd and there is another position near the Ram for additional M.2 SSD . So it can accomodate a total of 3 x Ssd drives. Check your model number for specs. On how many you can fit in your nitro.
Hi I have a AMD Ryzen5 4000 series (AMD Radeon) would this ram go well without problem? Even if is CL22?
