    Thanks for actually showing a solo way to do this!

    Thank you for the in depth about the punch thru. I’m wrapping a Goldwing and am struggling with the side cover with multiple deep 3sides

    Did you made the video for the tank? I have this exact bike and found your video without searching for it. I'm doing tank first as it requires the least mechanical hurdle of removing tires and whatnot.

    How much vinyl did you use for that bike. Looking to do mine so just need the right amount without getting way to much

    why vinyl is peeling on edges on motorcycle? I'm using vinyl on my front defender and before the edge of the defender I cut the vinyl I don't want to cover it all but after a certain time the place I cuted is peeling why this happened?

    How much (FT) vynal wrap would you consider buying to wrap an electra glide ultra classic considering possible errors?

      I’d probably say 30-40 feet just so you have a few practice runs on the fenders.

    Thanks for the video! I’m actually doing a cruiser today and will be one piecing the parts you just did on this video. I was going to 2 piece the fenders and the 3 piece the front end of the bike but your way looks a lot better then having seems show! What was the tape you said you used to tack down the edges for the front of the bike?

    • @JamesDeanX
      @JamesDeanX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome!
      Edge seal tape. Or laminate strips. It definitely helps hold down those edges!

    You make that look so easy. I tried wrapping my fender yesterday and wasted about 5ft of the vinyl. I gave up after 20 minutes 😩

      I appreciate the kind words. You got this! Just practice, practice, and some more practice lol. For hard things to wrap I do a test run almost every time before actually wrapping it to give me a feel for the piece.

    What color is that? It looks really great man. I’m just starting my Goldwing. No one locally would touch it so I’m attempting myself, not going too well. Think I’m going to order Avery and give that a try. I bought 3M 1080 Matte Black but I like your color much better (looks like anthracite). Thanks!

    • @JamesDeanX

      This vinyl is cheetah wrap - matte charcoal metallic. It’s a super low tack vinyl that’s all US made. It is very important to post heat to 180F for deep recesses like the front bezel.

    Thanks for the video it's great. What brand of vinyl are you using? I have an H-D Touring Bike (Street Glide) and non of the shops around my area want to wrap a motorcycle. Just watching you do it was great. I'm thinking about buying the vinyl and just doing it myself.

    • @JamesDeanX
      @JamesDeanX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I HIGHLY recommend brands like cheetah wrap or Avery Dennison for beginners. Those both are very low tack and stretchable.
      Once you get some practice under your belt you'll be wanting to wrap everything! Good luck on the bike.

    Hey man, I'm working on a cruiser for someone right now. Can you explain to me how you achieved the tank so cleanly. Cannot get it looking right.

    • @JamesDeanX
      @JamesDeanX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of pre stretch. As much as you can get away with without discoloration before putting it on the tank.

    • @lolwhat6193
      @lolwhat6193 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess I'm not stretching it even enough. It's ripping around the edges when I go back to post heat. Glue lines are insane too. It is 3m gloss fire orange though.

    • @lolwhat6193
      @lolwhat6193 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JamesDeanX do you have the tank on the bike? How exactly are you stretching it around the tank.
      Thanks for the reply btw!

    • @JamesDeanX
      @JamesDeanX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I usually use one person on each side of the vinyl and another to heat it as we pre stretch before putting it on the tank. Another option which I used for this video was I tacked it on the front side of the tank and used a PVC pipe on the back side while I heated and stretched. Having the pvc pipe is nice because the vinyl won’t fold on itself while you’re heating with the other hand.

    • @lolwhat6193
      @lolwhat6193 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JamesDeanX after you tacked, and pre stretched front to back, did you lift the front and give it a stretch over the front of the tanks well?
      I get like 3/4 of the way around the boulbouse section before im over stretching.

  • @brandonhvegas
    @brandonhvegas 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you wrap the tank? If so were you able to do it in one piece?

    • @JamesDeanX
      @JamesDeanX  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the tank was done in one piece. I do apologize not getting a better video of it as it’s just me here most of the time.
      My advice is start from the front and work your way back with a nice even pre-stretch. Leave a good amount of extra vinyl on the sides for pulling down the sides. It almost always takes me a couple attempts. You got this!
