Now your using 2.5 cm bolts instead of 12mm?? You said 12mm the first time you mentioned these bolts now you said again the 2.5 cm length bolts. Did you mean 2.5 cm the hole time an a 12mm head size??
Got my regulator/motor today. I've watched your video on remove/install twice and feel confident in doing the job. If all goes well I intend to do both rear window regulator/motors next. I think your video's are great for diy folks like me. Thanks Mike. Thanks for putting together a nut and bolt package. Makes the job a piece of cake.
Just an FYI, Dorman makes a window installation kit (around $8, part#702-013) that comes with all the correct bolts and rivets for the regulator installation. Strongly suggest to get the exact right sizes for all bolts and rivets. Also these mirror the factory rivets which are different from any other rivet on earth best I could tell.

Thanks, very helpful and I bought a new one for 1A. However I’ve managed to break free a brown wire that I think was a ground for the lock system because it keeps unlocking itself. Does anyone know where that goes before I have to take the other side apart and look at that one?
+Steve Benner Hi Steve, sometime they don't come with bolts to attach them to the door. You can get some at your local hardware store. All you would need is a few of them to secure your new regulator to the door. We carry the window regulator shown in this video if anyone needs to replace theirs. We also offer free shipping on all orders in the local 48 states. Here's a link to them www.1aauto.com/1998-11-lincoln-town-car-window-regulator-front-pair/i/1awrk00376?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony%20
Great video, I'm working on a 1996 TC. I just ordered the pair for the front from you guys. wish me luck. BTW does the order come with the 6mx12mm nuts and bolts or just from my local hardware store? thanks.
+Roy Saenz Thank you for your order, and no, the part will not come with the nuts and bolts! If you would like to leave us a review on Google it would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to our reviews section. Have a great day! goo.gl/i5JFNY
+Kevin Thompson The size of the hole made will determine the size of the hardware required to replace the rivets. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
Do you have a video on the passenger side rear Regulator on the 2000 town car or similar ? I need to swap mine it has the systems motor makes noise but window doesn't move all the time have to close by pulling window up by hand . Ty for your time.
+agent96 We currently do not have an auto repair video on this particular repair. We do carry the replacment window regulators for your Lincoln, here's a link to them if you would like to see what we have to offer goo.gl/SsOuyp
Thanks for the Video. We used parts supplied by 1AAuto. '02 TC almost identical to the one in the vid. Took quite awhile for novices to complete the job but it was rewarding. People might want to disconnect the battery thru most of the installation as battery may lose charge also we lost time shopping for nuts and bolts only to find them included in the box. Oh well. Window works, mostly O.K., but, as it nears the near fully closed position it comes off track. If a person helps guide it to fully closed all is good. Any idea what we need to do to remedy this?
Got it! The written instructions that come with the reg and motor say to leave the regulator mounting bolts loose until you put the window all the way up. Once the bolts were loosened with the window half way down, window put up then tightened it worked. Also loosened the window bolts to give it more play, closed the window and tightened the bolts. All good. Now to replace the panel with all the broken clip holders!
You press the button it goes up bump and come back down about 3 maybe 5 in,when I let the window down it go down about four inches from the bottom what I do now this is on a 2003 Lincoln Navigator driver door
+William de Thomas Thanks for watching. We carry the window regulator shown in this video on our website. Here's a link to them if any viewers would like to take a look at them. I'm doing this right now, and when the window gets up almost all the way but 2 inches, the nose end of the window drags and it causes it to turn in the track. How do I fix it?
Having the same problem. What I'm going to try is loosen the upper nuts and the lower bolts on the regulator then put the window fully up and tighten them down again. The written instructions mentioned tightening with the window up, don't think the video mentioned it. I'll post if it works...or not.
We love to hear that our videos are helping people get the repair done! That's our main goal. Great work, and thanks for checking us out. 1aauto.com?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony 866-403-3393
was helpful i had everything out, just could not get the glass out, i had it angled and all, just was trying to take it out the outsid of door not inside....
In his defense, I'm a mechanic too, I believe if you get into the habit of cussing and let this line of work get to you, you are in the wrong job. Stay calm. Keep it cool. Get the job done. And if you do cuss, don't let it happen often. Because severe frustration is a big part of this job. It just is.
+Josue Moctezuma It may be a different procedure on your application. We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking. 1aauto.com
I did fine until it came time to put the window back in. I couldn't get the god damn thing to line up with the tracks! This is the first time that I have pulled the window changing the power window regulator. The other 3 times I just let the window drop to the bottom of the door. For me it was a lot easier. I will never pull a window again if i have to change a power window regulator

Why didnt you put the same bolts in that you took out??? You used these m6 bolts to hold the motor on instead of the ones that came off of it

Are the bolts, that replace the rivets, included with the motor/regulator assembly?
What hardware was used to mount the window to the regulator?
Yours is the best videos on TH-cam. Thanks for putting them on here.

Can you specify what size bolts go where? Thanks
Can you list those bolt sizes you used to replace rivets again? Thank you!
I was wondering that too. He didn’t give the dimensions just the length
M6 x .12 bolts & nut for motor idk about windows
@@djMotivation77 did anybody find out what size bolts for window ?
After doing a few of these I wonder about using bolts with sharp threads pushing against the rollers or windows for years.
Will 1/4-- 20 bolts work, putting it back together? If so, what length ?

Great video 👍 thanks 🙏
Would've been helpful if you specified the size of the 2.5cm bolts that hold the window. I'm just gunna assume they're M6's like the others.
Thank you for your video. It really helps
Thanks for the video

You see that computer box inside the door with the wire harnesses mine's clicking when I try and push the driver window up but will go down?
+Shawn Babbitt Thanks for watching! That box is the motor that drives the window regulator, so you may need to replace it. 1aauto.com

The two bolts for the window you said they're 2.5 cm bolts are they also m6's
+south side We do not have any additional size information than what is shown in the video. Thanks for watching!
@@1AAuto you didnt even say wether its a t6 or anything or why you didnt just put the orginal window motor bolts back in.
The motor doesn’t fit perfectly In mine it lightly scraps the glass on the way up?

hello this video is for 2000 lincoln ls ?
+Josue Moctezuma It may be a different procedure on your application. We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking. 1aauto.com
How many bolts?
What were the dimensions of the bolts used?
It said in the video! M6 12mm.
Done
Is this process similar for a 97 Lincoln towncar?
+Erikk Wilson Thank you for checking us out. The process should be similar, however orientation and bolt sizes will be different. 1aauto.com
Ok thank you. Can i still use the M6 bolts and nuts to replace to rivets?
+Erikk Wilson If they do not come into contact or interfere with any moving parts, you should be okay to use them.
Ok great thanks for all of your help!
Can i find these nuts and bolts at my local hardware store?
