This Old Express Lift broke down while I was filming it. Everything about this lift felt dodgy and temperamental. After the doors closed, the lift started going down. I pressed the call button a couple of seconds after the doors closed, and the lift just stopped between floors. The lift just sat there, refusing to run again and the “Lift Coming” indicator remained lit.
So sad to see such a nice lift in this state. If the likes of these lifts were maintained properly, they would last forever. The lift cab, buttons and indicators don't look like they need to be replaced. They would probably have to replace the poor old relay controlled logic though and perhaps the motor would need to be overhauled or replaced.
thank god it didnt break down with u in it, that woud've been really scary. this lift clearly hasnt been maintained well or at all, it even has levelling problems two.
As Much As I Love Express Lifts and Dislike The Modernization Of Express Lifts I Think This One Definitely Needs Replacing Although This Looks Like Something Out Of A Horror Film It Could Have Possibly Been Installed In The 1970s Or 1960s Most Of The Non Glass Express Lifts In The Grosvenor Shopping Centre Northampton Were Installed In The 1970s and The Glass Ones Near HMV Installed In The 1990s
@@Bombiedude. Yeah, that’s a very good point! The lifts home back down to the bottom floor after every use, and they open and close the doors every time. So basically it enters its self a normal car call back down. So I think that has something to do with it. I think on the ground floor, when you press the call button while the lift is already there, it uses the same part of the logic circuit as if you just pressed ‘door open’ from inside. The door open button has a no open timer also.
@@Lift.Tracker ok I was just getting the idea of it for if I visit the UK one day since Im from the US and they did things a tiny bit different back then
@@Lift.Tracker XD I literally almost got stuck in the flats lift, that's how unreliable it is XD. It has a door operator fault which causes the doors on 0 to sometimes not open all the way, and if you can't open the doors by hand, you could very easily become trapped.
What happen the light inside the elevator? Wasn't fixtures with this lift, mate. Looks so dark inside the elevator... How come to ride it done like this without light is, huh?!! 😓

Luckily it did not break down with you in it would of been very scary in pitch darkness
Yea

Definitely a lack of maintenance on this express lift so dark
It's interesting to see the lift close straight away after it just opened its doors.
Nice one.
Poor Express lift. Hopefully it's fixed soon!
Very interesting video.
The sounds in the lift remind me of horror music
World's darkest lift
Woah that is knackered. Poor old express lift

Oh my gosh I wish that was me I need to live in those tower blocks I love express elevators! Even better it should break down with me in it!
Once again a very quick door timer which seems to only happen in the lobby which is wierd

WAIT, THIS IS THE LIFT MRMATTANDMRCHAY SHOWED BACK IN 2015! their video showed how this whole damn thing worked!
Yes, that’s right! :-)

If it is starting to play up like that, given its age it will be ripe for modernisation.......
I think you’re right. As much as I dislike modernisation, these ones feel like they genuinely need it.
Oof that seems even less reliable than my flats lift XD. Great lift and video!
Thanks!

(Oh and i feel like newer elevators are safer to ride -my opinion-)
No light in that lift
Why can’t people maintain their elevators/lifts 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
The lift is from 1957, so it’s bound to have some problems here and there! They fixed it and got it up and running again afterwards.
:-)
Location of the lift?
Around the Crystal Palace area. These are getting ripped out soon though.

Pls get out of lift this is very dangrous lift dont do that

What's he got to do with this 😂
I hate old lifts
why
@@vukristic bc the reason he hates is bc they're the #1 world record creepypasta elevators in the world what has pitch black inside!
