Another creepy Kiev elevator

  • Yes, I'm sure there are many of these in Kiev! One day we walked for 8 miles (I had my GPS tracker on me!) but we could only get into a handful of places. Other places I entered had been modernised.
    However, the door to this building was wide open! The old fashioned glass roof structure at the top was really nice.
    This is all missing footage that I mistakenly moved into a different folder, so there is some extra footage of the other scary lift we found.

    If you press "10" three times, the elevator goes 30 feet below basement level where you are surrounded by nothing but concrete. A voice comes on the speaker saying "Silly goose! This building does not have 10 floors!". Then all power goes out and the shaft starts to fill with water.

    • @LBSiUK

      The button is probably had heavy use; I think they have worn down with time.

    • @mrmattandmrchay
      @mrmattandmrchay  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think this is not due to the button, but the circuit logic. This lift can only respond to one call at a time. While it's busy, all the other call buttons are disconnected. After the lift arrives at a floor, there is a short "in use" period where the call buttons do not work. When the doors shut, and after this short delay, all call buttons are active again. This confirms that this is the old relay controller in use here!
