Knowing the app sucks, I tried one final solution. Delete moza pit house, and just do a clean install. After re-installing pit house, my wheel base was fine, worked good as new. I havent had an issue in days.
That happened to me once in the 8 months that I had the R9, I did a base and steering wheel reset and everything worked perfectly. I sold it to check a higher model. But it's a great DD.
Lol been using the r9 v1 since June 2022 and I haven't had one single issue till date!!! I mean I do understand that there might be issues but sometimes the user also contributes in causing a problem. I mean at this point I think being a sim racer we should all agree to the fact that Moza has been doing a very good job on their products specially the bases!!!

For anyone facing the same issue regardless of your moza base, on the moza pit house home screen; double check wether your base is in standby mode or work mode. Standby mode does that which deliberately disconnects the base but still shows your wheel spinning if you do so.
Uhh plugging up to an older usb hub as compared to a usb 3.0 is usually the issue..plug into a 3.0 usb hub and I’m pretty sure that will solve your problem! 😉
Moza v1 bases have a common problem where the wireless transmitter is defective and doesn't allow the base to communicate with the steering wheel. I just got this R9 out of the box and was not able to use any buttons or even the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Only fix was to install a new transmitter that moza wanted to send me. 🚨I HAD TO RETURN THE MOZA R9 V1, if you go moza make sure you get a V2 base as they fixed the connection with the wheels with v2.

It was the Bluetooth wireless transmitter inside the wheelbase that was defective and needed to be replaced. I ended up switching brands rather then dealing with all that lol

I use R9 v1 too, if you keep the connection but not in use for a while (around 15mins I think), it will be shown like this, but it still works fine in game. Close pithouse and restart everything will be good again.

Doesnt R9 use wireless datatransfer? I guess bluetooth? so check if there is any wifi / bluetooth / microwave (or any other device on 2.4GHz band) nearby that might jam the signal?
I have original R9 V1 with V1 GS wheel. I recently picked up the RS V2 wheel and everything still works perfectly. I like not having to wear gloves on the RS and almost like the feel of the RS more than original GS rim. No issues with loss of ffb . Still enough power to rattle my Rseat B1 rig to a symphony of noise. I was worried about all my bluetooth and wireless connections interfering, but no issues here.

I finally got it to work by buying a separate usb card then plugging every item direct to the new board. It hasn’t lost signal again. Anything but I direct connection will fail.
It’s defective. You need a new Bluetooth transmitter. See if they will send you one to replace it yourself, otherwise not sure how long that will take shipping back and forth.
My first thought is a software issue, not the wheel. Becuase it obviously is connected. Have you tried unistallimg the software completely and reinstaling it?
Have kids these days heard of faulty units? Manufactured defects? When something is produced in mass quantities you’re going to end up with bad products. That’s part of the point of a warranty.
Your wheel r9 base is working fine. Your wheel is stuck in reset mode. Something probably happened during a firmware update. You would need to do a hard reset using their offline firmware updater.

A lot of people have said the Fanatec CSL DD wheelbase have problems too. Go for a bigger wheelbase with more torque if you don't want similar issues with your Fanatec wheelbase.
I went with the sim magic alpha… the faceplate was installed too tight to the shaft and was rubbing. I’m waiting on a replacement now and hopefully this is the one I keep 👀

V1 wireless connects with the wheel while v2 is a wired connection so you won’t have to worry about your wheel disconnecting mid race because of the Bluetooth
I recently upgraded from a Logitech G923 to the moza r9, and I’ve been nothing but frustrated with it. I race asphalt oval on iRacing and my Lap times are down and lacking feel in the wheel. I’ve messed with the setting a ton and still get discouraged because I feel like I felt 10x more on the G923. Don’t get me wrong it’s a strong wheel in that aspect but I’m missing the little things, like tire slippage and seams in the track. And lord knows the edge of the car is non existent. Get loose out of no where and flat spin.

Not a problem with the wheel. The app just is buggy sometimes. Coming from a previous r5 now r9 owner.
If that happened I just unplugged it from my pc and plugged it back in and it worked like new again.
But moza said that mine was defective 😳

What's the diff between V1 and V2?
V1 wireless connects with the wheel while v2 is a wired connection so you won’t have to worry about your wheel disconnecting mid race because of the Bluetooth

Something seems wrong. R9 has plenty of force. Logitech is no where near as close. Iracing settings might be tweaked.
