basically nothing wrong with the car, you just got screwed by the last owner
not gonna lie i was salty af when he said its supposed to be quiet for a luxury vehicle.... its a v8 luxury coupe, if you want quiet buy the A series
Gabe Murillo when i meant quiet i meant cabin noise from like wind and road noise. Id never down a car for a good engine note. Though the exhaust is fairly quiet (stock)

Mntwofiveohh road noise has a lot to do with the tires. They are low profile tires on 19s the noise is always going to be hard to mitigate
@@mntwofiveohh3787 the pilots are known to be a louder tire. Do your research and find the tire that meets your expectations. I track my S5 so I don't mind a little excessive road noise , for superior grip. That being said my 2011 S5 has a very quite cabin. If you fix the leak in the window that would help. I like mine loud. Cranking the B&O stereo . Opening the valves on the Armytrix exhuast, and hearing that V8 scream. 🤤

To anyone reading this... if you buy a performance vehicle like this... GET A WARRANTY with very good coverage. If one is not available, don’t buy it unless you can afford to pay the value in amount of repairs over about 7 years!
When it comes to tires, also get a warranty when you but new ones.

Warrany is always a gamble. Insurance companies sell warranties to make money. The odds are in their favor. This is how they make profit and why they so aggressively sell warranties. If a major malfunction will break the bank, by all means, get the warranty. Just remember that statistically, you will generally lose on the deal.
Ended up coming in handy on that car. Havent had to use it yet on my 2018 s5 yet
Doing a great job man! If being a TH-camr is your dream, I say stick with it. Sorry for everyone's comments saying it was "boring", I thought it was rather interesting. Also, with time, your videos will continue to improve, just like the TheStradman's haha.
Thank you for the kind comments. Ive continued to hone my skills and my later vids have gotten better i think. Ill keep grinding. Working on a new project with my brothers talking about peoples car experiences too.

It is such a nice car. A lil dated in tech but having a nice lil v8 is fun
I‘ve bought one just weeks ago. Considering updating the tech-side of it with a RSNAV multimedia replacement unit for the dated MMI.

Me too, seems the price is right, it has reached its maximum depreciating value, it will only lose very low percentage from here on.
i got one , and i have so many problems with it , again my S5 V8 , broke dawn. in a 1,5 years spend near 1,5k pound and another repair this one cost me at least 1,5-2k British pound.
I’d highly recommend, if you still have your car, to learn to do a bit of wrenching. Factory service documents can be found on ErWin, I downloaded everything for my 2010 S5 yesterday. Owning any VW product will always leave you with some sort of expensive surprise unless you fix it yourself. 3rd party warranties are great but often times a lot of shops will not do quality work. Either way it’s a very unique car, keep it out of the salt and take care of it because these aren’t always going to be around!
Ill need to get myself some manuals. I have worked on Japanese cars in the past but nothing with this complexe
Mntwofiveohh I can send you a zip of the Erwin stuff I have on mine. Everything is the same except mine is a manual trans. Images are very clear and tq specs are all there since it’s straight from Audi! I highly recommend ErWin after using. I paid almost $200 for the Bentley manual for my golf and it didn’t always have everything. If there’s anything else you needed from ErWin, it’s about 40 bucks for all you can download in 24hrs. An rs5 forum had a great topic on this 👍

My S5 auto shifts super fast!
Being a trucker .. driving without Having to shift gears is Beautiful!
You’re tripping you’re not gunna find a manual in good condition so easily. Automatic can be just as fun.
the auto in the s5 shifts faster than some DCT's ive driven before. the flipper paddles are so much fun on the twisties
Imagine buying a car like this and having to have a repair done worth $900 and being in "hot water" if you can't afford that repair without issue you can't afford an Audi pal
I have a 2018 s5 now. Im doing ok. Big repair bills are shocking whoever it is
I’ve been wanting an A5 for yeeeeeears I’m just scared of the carbon build up issues and the timing belt thing but I love these cars
I guess time will tell on the good ol 4.2 v8. Soo far its ran nice from an engine perspective.

@@mntwofiveohh3787 from what I understand the S5 used the upgraded chain guides of the RS4 instead of the early S4 V8 that were shitty plastic.
@@ratman19731 correct only need to change the chain when the water pump goes out
Changing out Michelin Pilot Sports for General tires? Idk about that one. You could have gotten the A/S3+ or Bridgestone Potenza
The general g max tires seemed to hold their grip well and last. But im normally a michelin man. My new s5 has continetals not sure of the model

I am looking to purchase one 2008 2009 S5 red black and tan interior manual transmission but the price scares me because it is under 20 K that’s why I started watching this video doing my research just to see the long-term reviews on this car Great video thanks for the info
Mine was 13k. So far mine has been great. The only problems I have had were listed in the video
Find yourself a good independant garage. Audi dealerships are notorious for charging huge amounts of money for the time they put on cars. If your car was new, it would be worth it to keep a better value when you would want to sell it again, but it's not worth it for a 2009. I'm considering buying a B8.5 S5 in the next couple years, but I would never bring it to Audi for maintenance
I now have a 2018 s5 and have a local shop outside the dealer to do the work

I'd buy au Audi S5 with 3.0T supercharged engine, which i did. Traded out my 09 A5 for it. Went 2013 S5. happy so far
They 3.0 is so much cheaper to make power with. I looked into supercharging my 4.2 . Around $12-14 thousand. 😥
The V8 just sounds so good though , with an aftermarket exhaust.

Complaining about brake dust ?? It has WHITE leather , maybe in next video he can complain about how dirty the seats get haha . I have a s4 & s5 love them both & no issues .

It had about 90k miles. It was a great car! In a 18 s5 sportback now.
900 for a break caliper and install 😂
Well it didnt cost me anything. But ya they wanted 900 bucks at the dealership for labor and parts.
@@mntwofiveohh3787 I agree, it's only 900 at the stealership. Doing your own brakes is really easy and not somthing you should pay other people to do.
Frank Kirkman why not skip the work if under warranty? I have done tons of rotor and caliper jobs throughout the years. Just not going to give up one covered by warranty. .
@@frankkirkman5994 you have to a VAG cable to do the brakes on these because of the electric parking brake. You'll damage it otherwise.
Audi dealership wanted over $700 to replace my battery and recode the computer , to let it know it has a new battery.
How much was your warranty on it?
4k i believe. It was expensive because it was a 10 yr old car at that point

It is a 4.2 l v8. In 2013 the switched to a super charged v6

Rude. It had a factory exhaust so yes it was quiet. And the old 09s were not that spicy my ‘18 now is much louder with the v6 turbo.

That sucks s5s are pretty sweet cars. What kind of stuff would you like to see to spice it up. Appreciate the comment and would love some tips to bring up comment quality.
More about the driving of the car, engine sound and maybe some footage of driving the car(outside view) Few stats, common issues, costs like carbon clean that u have to do every few thoused miles. Lots of minor stuff that makes the videos waaaay better for someone that's already in to the car and knows a bit about it and just wants to know what it's really like to own one. Maybe mpg and if this is a car you would take out during night and just go out for a drive, if it's that special or just a a5 with a v8.
