- Award shows, like the Oscars, are beating themselves up for their history of white supremacy. Future awards will go only to films that meet diversity quotas. "These awards just shouldn't even be seen as legitimate," musician Eric July tells me.
"It's supposed to be based on merit. You'd think that's what the awards are for," he adds.

I stopped watching award shows several years ago because I was sick and tired of celebrities telling me how to vote. That was probably one of the best decisions I ever made.
Now do as l have done - stop watching tv - stop listening to the radio - stop reading the papers, they all push an agenda that best suits them and makes them more money. Use the internet to obtain your facts and entertainment based on your research. Type in a subject, research the results and make your own informed opinion on a subject. BEST decision l ever made.

An example of what's wrong today, Disney is more concerned about the politics of their stars than the quality of there shows. What they did to Gina Carano of the Mandalorian. One of the few shows on TV worth watching made me cancel my subscription. Sadly I do not see a bright future for television.

I honestly used to watch these shows religiously until I woke up around 10 years ago and realized they were pushing so much trash. I haven't had cable for over a decade now and the last time I watched the Grammy's was in 2015 at a posh Bel Air party where we drank Dom Perignon 1980. I was never going to do better than that so I stopped all awards shows from then on! I do watch Ricky Gervais highlights for hosting the GG's.
