Let's help you a little more. If a woman or man whom both are heart surgeons, with 10 years experience, apply for a job that offers a 200k salary, then both of them will get....drum roll...200K!!
Apply this to any job with a fixed salary - Starbucks, civil service etc. Furthermore, different companies offer different salaries, but still those vacancies will offer said salary to either men and women.
Now, in the free and open market one can get disparities. This occurs when a person is a commodity and/or if they are self employed (basically still their own commodity, on step removed). What does this mean? This means a person like Adele is her own product. Therefore, her market value will go up and down depending on what profit they bring in (marketing, products, music companies, make up etc etc).
The only other places is cash in hand jobs and/or illegal jobs. That speaks for itself.
So, if you want 'equal pay for equal work' you're going to need a Marxist/communist state.

There is _no_ unequal pay in any Western country. There may well be unequal _earnings_ , in the sense that a woman might earn less over time than a man, but that's not the same as unequal pay.

If men are paid more acrossed the board it is because Men are more likely to do the Dangerous shit women won't. 13% of active service combat units are female. High wire linemen are majority male. Firfighters, police officers... all majority male driven fields with high danger pay. Secretary, Librarian, School teacher... zero danger... lower pay
