@@Redzeths lets be real, for jagex, its a disadvantage, if the people stop botting or stop developing bot programms. They get a hell of a lot money out of them and traffic in the game. They can say "We got 2000 players in this world" tough, if you remove bots, it may be only 3/4 or even half.

DiceW44 index all your bots names in an array and just check the array for the name each time you get a new assignment

Yep and jagex will always use there amount of created accounts as a way of flexing. In reality 80% of them accounts have probably been banned for botting or botting currently.

d b it’s been a game changing prevalent problem for how long? If they were as serious as them come off the problem could’ve been addressed or somewhat solved by this point not just throwing bandaids on shit every time something turns into a shit show. You clearly don’t know how people at the top of companies work and have no idea how businesses that clear more than 6 figures work. Go ask Jagex accountants what’s going on. If it was such a huge detriment to the game and ruined it that much without them getting their pockets lined to some degree it would have been solved years ago or at least have ways to combat it actively.

Digging the vids. I took some years off RuneScape but even then bots were an issue. And Everytime I came back it still was. Glad to see someone doing something about this on such a deep level it's done tons to impact these folks. I've noticed the difference no matter how long it may have lasted. Keep it up!

There is now ALOT more people that write bots now compared to back then. and it is going to take alot more then what was used before, and I highly doubt Jagex is going to scan your system like many other anticheat software does (For example if you have "Cheat Engine" searched in a webbrowser League of Legends will crash)... Can you imagine the backlash from that?
What is probably happening is the OSRS team is trying to figure out how to port the AI bot detection from RS3 to OSRS. Or is building one from the ground up. (As stated from a statement from them is that RS3 has an AI learning bot detection but not for OSRS)

70-80k people online check out how many people log back in after a big update. About 20-30k people from when 65-70k were on.
That's probably because a lot of people have a break before coming back online due to the update
@@row0111 or they are bots. A bot would probably have its script break with an update and not be able to log back in.
Way back when (at least 6 if not more years ago) the botting client we used got disabled whenever there was an update to the game just to figure out if something major broke. I believe anyone with significant investment would be cautious enough to wait a bit before restarting their bots. I could see the difference in numbers be a reasonable approximation of the number of active vs passive(afkers, splashers etc.)/bots.
Botting client i used 10 years ago had to be updated every update jagex did

Since Pking it's quite complex you need to train models. Maybe they are doing exactly that: training models to create a Pking bot.

Back at runescape's peak they hired the most popular programmer from rsbuddy. He was hired for helping remove bots from the game. That guy had some amazing scripts.

Then he shutdown his own bot and started going after the competition, the big brain move would've been to make a new bot site on the side that you exempt from any catches while you go after all the others.
Also that wasn't peak, that was what like 09-11? Peak was 06-07. Playercount went down like the world trade after they removed free trade and wildy.

This is one of the oldest bots around, unfortunately when I started playing a few months ago again (osrs) I found every single damn world had 10-50+ bots spinning flax.

You mention wondering how many people are actual players on old school and that got me thinking. If for instance there aren't nearly as many actual players as bots why would Jagex want to ban them? That would cut in to their profits from selling memberships to the bots.

"Negotiating" doesn't mean lowering your price - that's the worst thing you can do as an entrepreneur - competing based on price.
If the client's not a good fit - so be it. There's probably enough demand to fire every single prospect who can't afford the service. So this "nerd" probably knows very well how to negotiate.
Tip: only sell to players with money, don't bother with those who can't afford it.

Hey Sir Pugger. I dont know how to contact you on this, but there is a huge bot farm on almost every f2p worlds. If you go to the second level of the west varrock bank you will find many lvl 3's with medium level mining wearing bronze pickaxes. I believe it is a huge clay mining operation.

@SirPugger the lvl 30 bots in edge are different to the Corp ones.
The Corp bots have recoil rings, they hop into the instance to do a bit of damage to Corp. This makes a cost efficient way to farm Corp. Easy to replace the low level bots. They have a separate script making these low level bots fast. No need to risk expensive high level accounts.
And You may think you need extremely high processing power, but you cna actually use multiple high quality VPS to run these. VPS's were used in the crash duplication glitch to run 2000 bots at once.

I found hundreds of bots with equal stats in melee like what you shown but lower level(mostly), there were several different people running the same script and also ranged variant(with a ghostspeak ammy lol).
All these bots were found in Lumbridge swamp on every world, I reported 200+ for the fun of it so it may not be there anymore but if what you say is true it's one to look out for.
The melee variant had full iron plate with a mithril scimmy(even past 50 combat level) or sometimes a steel scim, that's likely a good place form tutorial island for speed of training/minimal loss.
The ranged variant had full studded leather and ghostspeak ammy, they were also using women avatars and femme names in their random gen names

The main cause lies with people buying gold for irl money. No demand = no supply.
If they took the duel arena out of the game there wouldn't be no where near as much gold for sale. If they banned the bots there wouldn't be no where near as much gold for sale. This puts the prices up because it's harder to get therefore not as many people buy it.

Hey! There are many bots in draynor pickpocketing the master farmer. They all have the thieving gear and a really high tieving lvl while their other stats are quite low. They are almost in every world, somtimes with 3 bots in the same world.
Hey pugger, i noticed the bots that pick pocket master farmers in draynor village, so i went to a pvp world and there are bots that are there too, just only a few though. mostly level 3's but they could have a ton of money on them.
$1,000 for a bot really? back when i was playing you could download an "auto-fighter" for free easy, greedy people these days. i still have my lvl 99 strength account and it was never banned once
$1000 for development work like this is not an unreasonable ask. Depending on the bot it could even be kind of cheap.

Twisted league is relatively clean. Since everyone is ironman they can’t trade cash and going for high point items is too risky for them since getting banned just before they get them would be a huge waste of time, not to mention the huge amount of scripts they need to get the points since there are so many different tasks
I'd say 30% of all active players are actively botting.

I was the original finder of the rimmington portal, I used to make an easy 100m a day there with my friend but the bots evolved and moved on, now they rarely come out and they’re spread around all the houses
Originally we camped to get the people who logged out inside their houses as they’d log back in outside. We made bills doing that but far more off the bots and legit players training construction in pvp worlds.

I was interested if this was true, but the only evidence I have is that the population of people playing runescape has proportionally kept up with the number of comments and posts on the runescape subreddit, as well as twitch viewers. Soooo proportionally it i think it hasn't changed! doesn't mean that proportion isn't 90%..... Though i'd like to think that number is not accurate.

If you have a little bit of programming knowledge you can write your own script. The bot client essentially takes commands to execute actions for you, like walk, interact with, move mouse etc. look at the documentation.
