Beautifully tuned Springers .. Sound so sweet when firing and quiet .. Not far off a PCP .Top review

You aren't wrong there mate. I've recently got myself a .22 HW97K. I stripped it down and it needed some attention. I sent it to Shauny and asked if he could sort it out for me..? WOW!! ......Shaun worked his magic on it, and didn't just stop at a basic tune. I'm not exaggerating when I say that he has transformed it into pcp levels! It is silent, smooth, and pellet on pellet with no recoil whatsoever. Superb shooting experience.

@@Aurelius_Mind yes mate. The piston has been lightened, piston bearings fitted, transfer port opened up, comp tube shortened, new spring, bespoke rear guide to fit that spring, top hat, quick release cocking arm pin, tuned trigger, and bespoke silencer/moderator that screws on via a uni thread.
It shoots like its engine is wrapped up in cotton wool and silk. The lock time is unbelievable. once I reach the 2nd stage, it reacts so positively. Every pellet will hit a target in a tree at 50m within milliseconds of release. I'm regularly checking it with a chrono. The powercrept up very slightly as it bedded in, but has now settled in perfectly. There is no recoil at all, and it's so quiet. It doesn't appear to be pellet fussy either. I've been experimenting with jsb exact 15.89, jsb Straton 15.89, jsb RS, jsb heavy 18.13, and H&N FTT. The only other pellet I'm going to give it a go with will be rws superdome when I get the time to pop into my local RFD. At the moment it has a Hawke Vantage 3-9 ×50 AO IR scope on it. It is so unbelievably accurate with this scope at 50m, I'm going stick with it. I've slowly built up the distances that I've been testing the 97 with. Started at 25, and went up by 5m at a time. I'm now at 50m, but I know for sure it has a lot more to offer. Not bad for something as quiet as a peashooter, and running between 11.2 and 11.4 , depending on pellet. Its absolutely superb in every way. The work I had done to it was undertaken by one of the best in the business. He is an expert on all springers, but he particularly specialises in HW's. He is very exact with everything he does. Hope this helps mate. 👍

@@georginaK21 It all comes down to the weather..? Carrier pigeon is statistically the fastest way to contact him, but only if the wind is blowing in the right direction. A message in a bottle is another good way, but again,.....you are relying on mother nature to provide the power to deliver it. Saint Bernard dogs are a good all rounder in any conditions. Write your message on parchment paper with a pen made from the quill of your racing pigeon and secure it in the little wooden barell that is hanging around the neck of your St Bernard. Then go to his place and secrete an insulated cool box full of snow witn a bluetooth speaker built into it somewhere near his front door. Then make your way back to the st Bernard, and cast the audio of someone saying...."help me,....help me,...I'm trapped under the snow, and I'm really scared" The st Bernard's aren't always reliable though. Especially if they get the whiff of a bitch on heat as they plod to his door with your message. Remote control cars from poundland can yield good results, but make sure you use pucker duracell instead of the batteries they offer you at the till. Another one I've had success with is by using smoke signals under a fool moon. It's more costly than the other methods though, cos to be successful, you will need to set fire to 4x lorry tyres, and in order to do this you will need 40 quids worth of premium petrol and 15 quid of premium derv to enhance the smoke effect once the tyres are alight. Hope this helps. Best of luck moosh. 😉

+emiliano echeverria - I bought the rifle with it on mate so I don't know where it came from. As for attaching it - it is a simple screw in job. The TX HC has a plastic screw in section on the end of the barrel that you simply remove and then screw in a mod.

The TX 200 HC mk1-2 had the short stroke put in by the factory as standard, the mk III don't and tbh there's nothing between them other than the TX are easier to work on. Have a hw97k and have used a ProSport, not had a chance to use a TX 200 yet but both makes are a dream to shoot. And the .177 always going to be a bit more twangy Vs the .22 because the .177 has to go faster to get the same ft-lb power. Waiting on s Chrono because just done a spring and guide rebuild and it's feeling alot more punch to it. Better safe than sorry. Nice video just goes to show spring rifles tuned are amazing to use.

Hi mate, as you have shot a lot of tuned guns, who would you say would be the best person to go to to have a piston buttoned? I have a Webley Tomahawk that feels a bit gritty when cocking. Cost would be a factor, so if there is anyone that would do a good job but maybe not as expensive as Vmach that would be great.
Great video btw, I have a venom stage 1 tuned HW97 in .177 and its a great gun, probably my favourite. I noticed the same as you that it was harder to cock with the Venom/Vmach spring in. But still very smooth and a pleasure to shoot.

Good straightforward video, I’m going bag myself another springer and it’s a toss up between the 97 and the tx200 but can I hell as make up my mind. I’ll be going for a 177 as I already have the 95k in 22 and two pcp’s in the same, I’ll be putting in my bsa ultramax and keeping my hw110. So it’s going to be decision time, what’s your take on the two?

Jonathan Stones shot both heavily this year & it’s TX for me mate, had a few little issues with 97 involving the rear trigger guard screw, been too tight or too lose effects accuracy. It’s a hard choice but TX is better looking get the full length version as easier to cock & groups well even at 45 yards with practice

The TX200 HC or any model out of the box has internal work done by AirArms. Obviously not the shortened stroke but they've made their spring air rifles run smoother without having to spend money. Yes you can have the TX worked on more but the TX200 and ProSport I've shot out of the box are better than the hw97k I own. But in all honesty both air rifles will out shoot the owner.
