I love seeing content like this. I completely agree with the quote about quality. Here in Mexico, players don't pay much attention to quality or even leather care. I play in amateur leagues where players have gloves that are as flat as pancakes, leather patched with everything like upholstery, or using shoelaces to fix a missing lace.
As a glove craftsman in the making, one of my goals is to help the baseball community keep their tools in good condition.

I started buying made in Japan gloves exclusively after Eastbay's Rawlings SLCS custom gloves were no longer available due to Bob Clevenhagen retiring.
I had owned a couple of Mizuno World Win gloves back when they were the best Mizuno gloves (90s) available and being from Hawaii it was normal to buy gloves made in Japan when on vacation and custom ordering from baseball shops are not as hard as you imagine. Just prepay for the glove, wait several months and get it shipped to your door.
Swallow Sports also takes orders in English and can take custom orders and ship it to anywhere in the United States or buy one of the gloves they have in stock which are still outstanding.
Glove weight could be lighter because shark liver oil is used for leather conditioner. The ones I own are not heavy at all. I would also look into using the Mizuno glove conditioner and make sure it says squalene is the main ingredient

I love my rawlings wizard, It was difficult finding any information on them ended up finding and watching some japenese break-in videos on the wizard gloves that helped me much better understand the gloves design.
I for sure wanna get myself a mizuna haga someday.
As someone that only wears my gloves T.I.P. the wizard series is a game changer... looking at photos online the glove seems like it would have an odd shape and maybe even be bulky compared to an american (traditional) style glove, but its design really does make it better for playing T.I.P. in so many ways.
the biggest shocker to me was the weight, my 12.5 rawlings wizards weighs the exact same as my 11.75 rawlings pro preferred... and significantly lighter then my 12.25 easton small batch horween.
I for sure hope to see japanese gloves become more easily accessible in the future.

14 hour flight to Japan is about $2000US so if they start selling them here that comes out to about 4 maybe 5 gloves

Very cool discussion. Wilson Staff is another example you guys didn't talk about. Not sure if its the price-point or the style that has kept these gloves so elusive in the US?

It almost feels like Mizuno could do no wrong. I haven’t used a ridiculous amount of gloves in my life but every Mizuno I’ve used I’ve loved

@@JustGloves MZ Softer for all around use. I’m not a competitive player, but when I do play I tend to play all around the field and I like this glove for utility
