We’ve found it boys. Our version of the Stanley mug.
Yooo for real. 😂😂
lol we sure did!!!
If it’s not from Eleiko, we don’t want it!!
@@jasonburns6411 I'd accept a Kabuki or Rogue
version!
Stanley Tools should make their own mug
They need to make a plate loadable mug that way we can go for a one rep max drink of coffee.
Theres always next year😛
actually this really opens the door for my camelbak/soloflex collab where I've got the dial a plate system but the center of the grip is hollow and has a tube clipped to your shoulder so you can hydrate without stopping
I can sip about 110. How bout you bro?
+1 😂
😂
Eleiko is leaving money on the table. Saying theyre not a mug company is crazy. They used to make waffle makers. So like WTH??
Right?
They used like 60 dollars worth of stainless Swedish steel, add in the equipment, manufacturing and the fact that they would need to hire people with pretty high hourly rate the mugs would need to be outrageously expensive. Would not make sense for them to scale up production and then look like clowns once the hype and people who want to buy 300 dollar mugs (plus like 100 in shipping) are gone.
They are defiantly losing money on the 300 they made.
I thought the CEO said they were losing money on each unit. No way for us to verify but likely true plus it takes staff away from producing actual equipment. They should’ve reached out to a factory in Asia and had them produce and get a volume discount at 5,000 mugs or whatever quantity they needed to hit. They still could do so…
@@itsmefalconOo possibly. Most likely actually. But somebody suggested giving it to customers who spend $5000 on equipment. They could do that.
@@itsmefalconOo they had 50 000 orders for the mug. I don't think money would be a problem...
The decision makers at Eleiko are idiots for not listening to customer demand. Guarantee people would happily pay whatever they want to charge for the mug.
The issue is they only gave working links to some and not others. That is lying in my book. Wish Coop would've mentioned this critical fact.
Ya those idiot billionaires
It is really difficult to make a new type of product for a company, you need to have the whole process of production for it.
@@julienl.3327it’s a pretty simple design and they already managed to produce 300 of them. They could make more if they wanted
Right? Not wanting to be a mug brand is a ridiculous excuse.
If there's a 15lb or 10lb mug that actually is useable, I would definitely buy it! The fact that some fitness company hasn't marketed this as a new "mug club" is crazy
Steven Crowder already has a "Mug Club"
I'd make it loadable with a top that has a straw/tube hole so you can get your breakfast reps in while drinkin coffee
Using tungsten it could probably be done. But it would be expensive af.
I'd guess it would be quite useless for coffee. Except if one likes cold coffee. Or you need to microwave the mug first to keep your coffee hot.
Honest question - fucking why?
Eleiko could easily create a section in their massive shop just for two people to build mugs. It's like printing money
CNC machine time is not cheap, even when you already own the machine. Most of the people screaming "I'd buy one" wouldn't actually buy one at the price they'd have to sell it at to make a profit.
@@dwaynesykes694 True, except that they're already seen proof twice now that the demand is NOT being overhyped. They sold out twice.
Obviously that demand isn't unlimited, but they can certainly profit off making more.
its quite literally.. not printing money. mugs are often cheap. most average people wouldnt pay the asking price of a dense steel CNC milled mug. high material cost, high manufacturing cost. you cant just pop these things out on a belt. sure if you built an entire factory around it, but who knows in a month when hype dies down and now you just have a mug factory.. theres a reason they made 300 and not 300k.. its a timely process.
there's no point-too heavy and does not hold much drink in it.
Thanks Coop. Before this video I was delightfully oblivious to my need for this mug.
Me too. Now I have to have it. 2 of them. 😡
Same
Same
@@kaligh What about 3?
Me:
Holy crap, people lining up for for Stanley mugs are dumb as hell. Can't believe the mindless consumerism.
Also me:
I want that 😮
Well its way more unique than a Stanley cup😅
What's a Stanley mug and why do I keep reading mentions of it lately?
@cooluser23 some sort of steel mug from a particular manufacturer. It's part of the "basic suburban mom" starter kit for 2024😛
@@cooluser23I looked it up and it looks like a random brand of insulated bottles. They're also pretty overpriced, by the looks of it. At least these mugs seem a bit more unique, but I would like something better designed before I buy one - namely, I'd want more capacity, a safer design (to prevent wrecking your teeth), and/or adjustable weights.
Darn I want one, this is the office equivalent of Thor’s hammer.
I'm disappointed that it only hold 3 ounces. I guess you could switch to espresso.
YES!!!!!! So many people want them. I really hope they do make more.
So definitly funny that this video came out after he met with the people at Eleiko.... So I think a lot of people do not seem to understand why this triggered such frustration with the Company. It has nothing to do with having a limited/exclusive product. It was entirely how the Company acted towards their customers and then responded to the frustrations. I really think they don't understand how much goodwill and brand value they damaged in the response. I know this is a luxury brand at the end of the day and so ultimately it probably won't matter as many people cannot afford their products.
What if they just do a limited run every april fools
I like it. It shows the humanity behind the brand. Often times high-end brands in any industry take themselves too seriously, and don't offer up any humility - let alone a mea culpa when something goes wrong. The backfired launch makes me like the company more.
I was able to score one and we gave it to our trainer as a coach of the year award!
A heavy toothbrush would be awesome 😅
I would totally take a knurled toothbrush. My DE razor is knurled, why not my toothbrush. - Coop
@@GarageGymReviews could work if you could buy bristle replacement cartridges, otherwise you would have to replace it way too often.
@@GarageGymReviewswho needs bristles when you can have knurling.
That could be a bad idea , the cofee cup whatever you want it or not you are gonna use it , meanwhile the toothbrush not
A weighted stainless mug for everyday use would be so cool. Like 2.5, 5, and 10lb versions.
I welded one for myself and made it 25lbs
I don’t think this would define them as a mug company. It’s just an accessory and if they only made one type of thing like this everyone would still know them as an equipment company. Just cause Xbox makes a mini fridge doesn’t make them an appliance company lol.
I think you are a man with no sense of humour
Rather than the Xbox mini fridge, which was made by another company licensing the design from Microsoft, I'd say that it's more appropriate to compare it to how Nintendo still makes trading cards.
@@leonro oh I didn’t know that, and exactly I had no idea Nintendo made cards lol
@@alexsauter5761 See, that's precisely it! Nintendo started out as a card company, and they still make and sell them (in Japan only). But anyone would say that they're a video game company when asked.
I think what they could do, is make one that isn’t 20lbs. Just a normal, stainless mug that can hold 14oz of water.
The idea that you're getting in some muscle stimulus throughout the workday with this heavy mug, constantly seeing their branding and associating them with weights... it's great product. They should keep doing limited runs every few months, or package them with an order of barbells/equipment over a certain price.
Or just drink your coffee with a mortar and pestle.
A vessel with a pestle. If you’re planning on drinking the brew that is true.
honestly if they sold these mugs not only would I buy multiple of them myself, but it would create brand loyalty like a gateway to their other products.
What if you would have another shot today?
I just came across this product 11 gauge steel 3 x 3 updates with articulating arms, and it uses weight stack and plate loaded and you can utilize both stacks. To me this is heaven the answer we've all been looking for can't wait to see this thing come out and some reviews on it before I pull the trigger
Would love to get my hands on one of these. Seriously.
im selling mine
@@hassannaveed4788how much?
Elieko definitely has gold but wanna let their ego get in the way.
JD Gym Equipped was limited run too. I was able to get one and requested an extra aggressive knurl and a center line on my handle. I like his version because he didn’t utilize bolts on top and bottom of handle.
He also has a much more utilitarian version of a Yeti with a barbell handle grip that is a 20oz capacity. I got a few of those too
Thank you!
Another cool product that I don't really need but really want now!
First coffee ,after side lateral raises. Solid product .
Why don't you have millions of subs? Great content dude!!
I want one!! If Eleiko won't make more, Rogue should get in on that...
the mic dropping when the mug hit the table 😂😂
the Sorinex ones look really cool.
if the come out with more they should make them at least 8 oz capacity so it's a little useful.
Diggin the cap. Ebbets Field Flannels?
Baldwin, actually. A company that went out of business, but were made in Kansas City. I have a few Ebbets Field Caps as well, but they got bought out recently and I've heard their quality went down quite a bit.- Coop
Hilarious, I met some of the marketing team at a fitness trade show and heard this tale first hand. I remember seeing this advertisement when it was live and of course missed the sale.
Great video.
Good! Now you can get the adjustable one.
I think that mug is sweet and would've loved to have added one to my garage gym.
Anyone know how much they were selling it for, just curious.
Love the idea ❤
They should bore that out more to make it 15lbs. Then do a 10lb and a 5lb version. This is definitely a product that people would buy. The empty yeti I carry around with me everyday is over 4lbs. At 5lbs, they would find customers who aren’t buying it for exercise, but for an heirloom quality mug. People love high quality materials and beautiful machining.
I'm guessing the chipped tooth story was a big reason they didn't want to mass produce these things. Too much liability.
I would defo buy this!
Its refreshing when companies stick to their vision and dont sell out just for the sake of money. You know if any large company put this out they would milk the concept for all its worth, thered be limited editions, collabs etc. But also I wish they did go in on it cause I want one lol
Refusing to sell a product even after massive demand is a company sin in of itself. See Nintendo and its old games.
I really hope they make more!
Its here.
I’ve never heard or seen this but now I want it.
This would be so cool to get. But, one thing you mentioned is a real danger with this - breaking a tooth; this thing being so heavy and wobbly, definitely has the inertia and mass to do it. All it takes is a bit of wrist weakness and instead of drinking, you'll get a dentist bill...
Skill issue
No pain no gain 💪
Well aldi sometimes sells two-parted barbells that come in portable cases with weights. I got an EZ curl barbell from them for 15 years now
I would definitely buy one if they made more!
Swings, presses, throwing, self defence, so many uses hahaha
I would be so hype if they made a Stanley cup shape, but make it hold a reasonable amount of liquid, and make the entire bottom part billet steel so its still heavy
Bro I was looking for this the other day
This is a very well constructed mug commercial.
Hey Coop, like your videos. Can I get the brand of the jacket you wearing? Since I could not get the mug, I have to comfort myself with something else^^
I absolutely love this, never heard of the company but this is awesome. I dont need a 20lb mug that only holds 3ozs but man they hit on something cool here! However id love a 9 or 10 or 12lb mug that holds 8 to 10 ozs and had a half ass lid for travel and using around a shop or job site. Very very cool idea and video!
Wow, Coop got one! What a surprising twist!
Didn't know this was a thing. Now I want one. 😂
I'll no joke get this on the spot 😅
Seeing this for the first time, and actually want two... one for me and one for a friend haha. So unique!
Opportunity is here 💪
This is missing a lot of the reason people were and still are upset. The website was down for 2-4 hours. They had a back door link that they were picking and choosing who to give that link to. In the only instagram response they never apologize for the poor preparation. Or inconvenience put on the customers. An overall lack of accountability has been demonstrated and it’s disheartening and disappointing.
Rogue is making a 10kg mug for the Rogue athletes. It's pretty sweet. Unfortunately, they have not released it to everyone
Lmao coop fanning the fire
I could use this to train my riser.
It's like people don't know about wrist weights or something. Wrist weights continue providing resistance even after you're done with your coffee. Revolutionary.
I just heard about it, I want one immediately
I would absolutely buy one of those. I do a lot of climbing and a lot of coffee drinking. Of course it would be a pain to have to pre-heat the mug but I can live with that. Shame they can't outsource it to a production company, as I understand that they might not want to set up a whole production line themselves for a side-product. Still I think it would sell well.
I actually wanted to share this video to my colleague from HR who always asks if we have any good ideas for a birthday present for another colleague like "get this for that guy that's always at the gym!". Then I found out it's impossible to get, now I'm sad.
I think part of the charm is also that it actually says Eleiko. That name I see on professional, serious weightlifting stuff.
I think this happened to Black Diamond Equipment - they had an April fool’s joke about a heated rock climbing chalk bag and ended up eventually making it and selling it due to demand
I'm trying to think what the easiest way at home to DIY this. The best I can think of is taking a flower pot, filling it with cement, and sinking a regular coffee mug into it while it's still wet. Not sure how you'd attach the handle, other than knocking the coffee mug handle off and crazy-gluing it to the pot.
Second idea would be taking an insulated coffee mug, removing the insulation and adding cement. Would be hard to get up to 20lbs though, unless it was unusually large
I got xmaster fitness knockoff, I can vouch that it is of good quality and its so much fun to have when drinking with friends.
One sold recently on ebay, auction ended at about $1100 Canadian $ with shipping 😮
Meanwhile Rogue: take our Rogue Artillery Mug 🤗You even can double the weight with the Anvil 🤭
I was searching for Rogue's heavy mug, and I stumbled upon this video. Intriguingly, when I Googled 'Eleiko' the top suggestion was 'eleiko heavy mug'. 😂Now, following the whims of SEO, it seems they should consider a shift to the heavy mug business!
Coop: nothing on my body is weak.
Also Coop: people are gonna wanna know how I got this mug.
I'm gonna guess he gave out some Norwegian Sloppies
I did not know that i absolutely need this
😂
I want one. This is hilarious.
They could use them as trophies for powerlifting, strongman or BB contests. Sort of like a small version of the Stanley Cup.
Rogue will def make one now
I want one now thanks
FYI - I saw the reference to the 'leak' by Rogue. They did actually presale it for 72 hours in January, for a total of 20kg :) This is quite the trend. I was just @ Rogue HQ, and the prototype looked awesome!!
The mug that created so much “buzz” 😂
Ordered my SorinEx shot glass. Luv to get that mug too
They could do limited yearly runs with the year of manufacture printed on it, sort of like how hallmark dates yearly collections of Christmas ornaments. Since the demand is so high, have a sign up that fills the order list randomly from the signup list and limit only 1 order per person. Then the mug production has a limited time so its not using too much manufacturing capacity from the barbells, etc. But ultimately, it seems they're missing an easy market segment.
I'm surprised rogue didn't jump on this. Crossfitters would die to have such CF swag all over their houses.
it's like the 5.11 tactical kilt
Did you see the 40lbs mug Rogue sent Brian Shaw? The crazy part is how easily he drinks from it.
One of the reviewers said they have to pre-heat it by pouring boiling water in for 10 minutes, otherwise the coffee gets cold really fast. It's completely impractical but I still want one!
I actually want to buy one lol. Reminds me of the Tungsten cube craze a few years ago 😂
Ohhhh. I know an eleiko instructor. I will try my best to get in on this.
BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE
Hey Coop, can you review the new Kabuki Oregon Power Bar?
easily could make a great kettle bell. maybe you can fit your foot through it for an ankle weight? the inside could be threaded to increase the weight also? might make it hard to clean tho. and could be used as a mug!!
the thermal mass that thing could hold would be crazy
I want the mug. They need to shut down one of their barbell making places and make mugs for a year, so everyone that wants a mug can get a mug.
I think this is a cool concept that could be taken to another level. Heavy silverware, combs, toothbrush, keys etc lol
Why not allow for 2 weeks of prepaid pre-orders before they make a run?
...and if they do, hopefully they make the pinky-side of the handle closer to the main part of the mug than the thumb-side. xD
Cause we already did. Better.
I'm mad that it's sold out, Eleiko make more please. I need it
Lifting is the answer
Yes, there's no such thing as too much lifting.
As a hobby welder and machinist, I can't see a solid SS machined mug being any way profitable. 4in solid 304ss round, 12in long is $315 and 42lbs. If it's 316ss it's $380. Plus the machining labor and welding. I don't ever make stuff from SS because it's sooo exp, unless I have to. Matching and welding SS is also more difficult.
Hi coop , you haven't reviewed the eleiko prestera , and prestera attachments.
I'd really like to. I've used them, money not considered, possibly the most thoughtful rack ecosystem there is. - Coop
I know nothing about the company and fuzz surrounding this joke product..but youtube gave me this since i wanted to add some modern "aesthetic" glass and mug from korea. And now here i am getting some european Design.. actually from my taste, the design wise isnt bad at all.. i liked it, especially the handle, it looks futuristic and fresh.. i would like a regular weight version after hearing the capacity of water it can serve
I ordered one. Yay
That’s a legit idea. I want a 10 kg mug in green.
Thin the outer wall and leave a full length cylinder in the middle for more volume & stability. Rubber bumper the lip to avoid injury.
Possible. Perhaps even done? ; )
This probably has pretty good heat retention. If you can preheat it well, then it’ll keep your coffee hot for a while.
Absolutely would!
Yes!
I swear this reminds me of HxH episode the old version of were gon went to zoldyk house and the guard gave them a super heavy mug and the guard said everything here is heavy just to train their muscles to open the large heavy gate.
