The build sheet Tony is incorrect and they didn’t come taped to the under deck lid. Want to know how I know? I built them at Oldsmobile. That sheet which would be a manifest sheet was generated at Fisher Body. Also, we ordered ours, built ours from chassis to dealer prep, and still have it to this day. Nobody was privy to the manifest build sheet, like the sad example this car has and it would never be taped. There are 3 sheets and only two of the sheets could a person obtain them if they were lucky enough because the dealer usually threw them away. I have the most factory documented ‘83 H/O and probably of any car and I’m the only documented person to build his car from both factories Fisher body and Oldsmobile with pics to prove.

My very first car was an 84 Old Cutlass Supreme, a down grade from the Hurst, but have been in love with the G-Body Olds Cutlass since. That was 21 years ago.

omg, my 70 yr old dad still has his that he bought new way back in the day and i love it! I think it's a 84 but it might be a 83 but it looks just like this car in every way except it's black on silver. 59000 miles on 307ho v8 with 4 tiny rock chips, not perfect showroom condition but still awesome!

I had a 1985 Cutlass with the 140hp version of the 307. It was painfully slow. Traded it in for a used 1988 Beretta GT in 1993. It felt like a rocket compared to my Cutlass. I then found a Hurst Olds on a used dealership lot. I took it for a test drive, and was less than impressed. A cool looking car, but power wise slow.

To answer people questioning why olds didnt install a 350ci engine in these cars. Oldsmobile stopped making there 350ci engine in 1980. They switched the 350 production to making the 350 diesel engines. So the 307 was the only gas v8 engine oldsmobile produced at the time. Oldsmobile built there own engines which shared no parts and had no commonality with the small block chevy.

Through much of the 80's, the 305 became General Motors' most common V8, followed closely by Oldsmobile's 307. I just saw 1985 IROC 305. Not much power. IMO it don't really matter that much. This car is cool looking. 80s wasn't a power thing. Neither were the 60s or 70s compared with today. Today 650 HP. Power isn't needed for around town. Looks are what is needed. Put 4:88 gears in. That will help.

    This is a 1984 Hurst/Olds............ "Not" a 4-4-2 !!
Very clean looking car, for the year. The Paint scheme, with it's beautifully placed stripes along with that Beautiful Hood Scoop & Rear Deck Spoiler & Chrome Olds Wheels are what makes this Car on the Outside scream "Get Up & Go". As well as in the interior, in my own Opinion the Best Interior in all of the G-Body Series, Hands Down. Yes, Better than the Monte Carlo & Better than the Beloved Buick Grand National. From the well placed Rally Gauges to those Beautiful Very Comfortable Bucket Seats, as well as Those Awesome Hurst/Lighting Rods. The 1984 Hurst/Olds is a Very Attractive looking car, even though I do prefer the 1983 Hurst/Olds over the 84'. They are Attractive, but that's it.
Let's be Real, the 1983 along with the 1984 Hurst/Olds were Sleds, with that Big Old Monster 307c.i. rated @185 H.P. on a Good Day. Ifou can call a Car that can perform a Mid to Low 18 seconds in the 1/4 Mile E.T. ........Quick !!
You must be a Salesman, a Very Very Funny Salesman !!
Hope that Car comes with the Optional Knee High Rubber Boots !!
    Good Day !!

I bought one in Oct 1984 for 16,200. I live in AL. Dealer in AL received 3 from South Dakota. Mine had every option available. Including power everything, factory air shocks in rear, and an engine block heater. Would bark the tires from 1st to 2nd gear, but was a lead sled through the mid range. It had 3.73 rear gears with overdrive trans. Had it wide open one time on interstate when a corvette and 280Z passed me like I was sitting still. Speedo pegged at 110. I sold it at 75,000 miles for 7,500 in 1990. Sometimes, I wish I would have kept it.

Having the original drive train is nice if you're OK with 180 HP and dont mind mid 15 sec quarter mile times. I got an 86 442 in 1996 with a '68 Olds 350 and over a 2 year period, got it to where it could run 12.60s with slicks and open headers. Highway driving is a little noisy with a turbo 350 and 3.73 but it's a hell of a lot more fun than with that stock 307. Would it be worth more with the stock drive train? Sure. But Ive had a hell of a lot of fun with it on the street and bracket racing at the track for 24 years. If I wanted to buy something 25 years ago to go up in value and sell it, I would have bought silver dollars or something.

Yeah the early 80s GM 5.0s were awful (whether it was the 305 or the Olds 307) esp. with an automatic. I owned a 83 Trans AM, and it was a sharp car, but slow as hell. I had a guy with a late 70s Tbird out run me, it was that bad! My next car was an 87 Mustang LX 5.0 with a Hurst 5 speed, with headers and straight pipes, and although it wasn't as pretty as my TA, the acceleration in that car was like going from night to day.
