I'm 48 years old and when I was running around town on Friday and Saturday nights this was my dream car! I'd have done anything for one of these.
Nice! You know a lot of people scoff at 80’s cars & say they are not memorable. But the Buick Grand National is a huge exception that dispels that myth.
About the only 80s car worth anything
I had a memorable 80s ..not very well known in U.S....an Alfa Romeo Milano...or 75 as known out of the States...one of the best sounding v6 ever made...great handling and 50/50 weight distribution
So is the iconic IROC Camaro, Typhoon, and Syclone! The Blue and Yellow IROCs were my favorite, their were so many colors you could get with the IROC! I thought the 87 Grand nationals were more like 28 to 29k not 17K, maybe I’m wrong! G.M. Had a lot, monticarlo SS, Hurst Olds cutlass, trans am,
@@jimmycline4778 Typhoon and Cyclone were 90's cars.
The Grand National with the least amount of miles on it is the last GN to come off the line on December 11th, 1987. That car only seen the outside for delivery, after that a room in the house was built for the car and it still has all the factory markings on it.
Wow, thanks for the info Charles, do you have a link for us to check out the article?
@@FlemingsUltimateGarage Watch a documentary called Black Air by Richard Clark and it chronicles the GNs from their inception to the last one made at the
G-Body plant in Pontiac.
@@charleslowe522 Appreciate the Info sir.
Beautiful car. Always wanted one but couldn't afford it and now they are worth even more.
Word of advice.....Don't get in any car, start it up and then start revving the engine. It takes several minutes for the oil to properly circulate and coat all the internal components inside. Be nice to this beauty. We all appreciate you showing us this sweet machine. Get some auto upholstery shop to replace the headliner as part of sale.
You'll never find softer more comfortable interior for that year I remember those seats lol
Right you are Lee, 87's were the best!
At 9:27 you can see the velour cover is separating from the headliner. I've owned numerous 80's GM vehicles and every single one of them did this. Fortunately, it isn't a big deal and can be restored but it's interesting to note it can be seen here.
Gorgeous car
GM paint during the era was horrible too
Around minute 6 I can see the headliner is sagging. Very common on these cars.
@@WhittyPics I had the same issue with mines. I would simply staple it to the ceiling which was not a permanent solution.
Hi tom it's Darth Vader's Buick G.N & G.N.X & thanks a million for sharing your videos 📹 with me I really appreciate it 😊❤
I Graduated in 1987, in Sherman, TX. My Friend, Joel Hayes, got one for graduation. It was Awesome Fast. I didn't really understand the whole, "4-10" Gear thing , but I was very Envious!
Fastest American production car of the entire 1980s. Really the only car from that whole decade that I'd call a muscle car. 3.8 turbo V6 putting out 300 horsepower and nothing else from that time was even close
The Grand National has 240 hp. It was only the GNX that had 300 hp.
@@joe6096 true
Hopefully this beautiful automobile went to someone who would truly appreciate it and not some privileged youngster who took it out and abused it. I will never have the extra money required to own a car like this but I love looking at and appreciating them for what they are. This is absolutely beautiful.
I thought the same thing as you. This is a gorgeous car and, like you, I won't ever be able to own one of these but I love looking at them. I'm one of those older fellows who plays GTA-5 and I downloaded and installed a GNX into the game and that's the closest I'll ever come to owning one!
Dont worry, it went to a good home :D
Killing me with that magnet on paint
I know....he should put a pice of cloth or something....stupid thing he did for a classic expensive cars shop
Totally agree. The original owner was rolling in his grave!!!
Was thinking the same.. Every time I hear that little "click" I imagine a little ding left behind on MY NEW GN!
Just as bad or worse is the habit of (even Classic Car Pros) leaving key fob in trunk lock when opening trunk. It jangles against paint when trunk lifts up. Then they bang it closed, all keys giving the surrounding paint a good whammy ❕☹️
@John Buick Fuck you asshole.
I owned and built one from end to end. I would love to own another one. It's beautiful.
The difference in me and this guy is , he died and never really enjoyed it! My super clean C5 Corvette that I’ve owned since new has 144k because I drive it, it’s never been parked in the Arizona sun, I keep it maintained! My corvette is perfect, the paint is even better than this! My point is, enjoy and drive your car!
Uncle Tone!!! Still preaching the car guy gospel. Amen.
I don't think he mentioned that you can't park it anywhere 2 days in a row and expect it to be there at the end of the day.
Not always
A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF HISTORY
The air from 1987 is in this tire!
What happened to the trunk emblems ? Never showed the paint readings on the trunk lid.
of course he hasn't replied to your comment. The spare tire cover is also missing. The car was probably repaired in the back end at some point. The radio is not the upgraded system either. The head liner definitely needs replacing, it sags more than granny's you know what.
@@steveferguson6809 so much wrong with this dude's presentation, with the "hard sell" like dude it's a fuckin legendary masterpiece you ain't gotta talk it up like that.. Jesus
45 is excellent for this car. One sold recently on ebay with 149 original miles for 172k. And it was a regular GN, not a GNX.
Ok thanks....
I think $45K is a little high. I bought mine in 2019 with less than 11K mi. for $37K.
Yeah and elsewhere in the comments here it's being said that they gave the widow 7K for it..
Hell has a special section for these types of parasites
Check the paint thickness down towards the bottom of the car.
Absolutely....need to check lower panels more than upper areas.
did you see that headliner when he was sitting in it?
Kelly Newman yup! Easy fix tho
what jackasses 'thumbs-downed' this beautiful car??? must've been some prius and/or mustang butt-hurt drivers hehe
Either trolls or a competitor of his. Just make sure you are not following the same type of behavior when you view a video. That's hypocritical.
I believe they were thumbs downing the host, not the car
yep. most likely the 5.0 busters! haha
Man I love a buick with a hard top I really don't like when they have t-tops
I'm really glad mine has t-tops.
@@willardarmbruster8111 Bet you love the rain coming thru your windshield and T tops don't you?
@Alex Jones. Hi. When it rains I drive a Subaru. The GN and GTO are for sunny days only.
I had a Monte Carlo SS 1984 model .Didn't compare to this beauty .
He said alright 789 times....alright.
Alright?
No after market guages - that's a good start
Man I wish I had the 💰! My dream car!!
Kinda funny too how the fastest car of the 80s was built by Buick, usually known for being a luxury car builder just below Cadillac in the gm line
hence why their ads said" 'going fast with class'
& what have they done since? This car was a lost Art! I've heard rumors & seen images or renderings of "The New Grand National", but why are the FOUR door cars? Are people that obsessed with four doors these days? Really, Buick has enough of them!
What is the price ?
If I had the money to burn, I would buy this and bring it to Honolulu, HI. I had a 1984. Not as much HP, and the 87 had the nicer all black grill, instead of the Chrome strip in the top with the Buick logo. But my 1984 had a much nicer interior. Interior roof pillar, upper sections we're a lighter grey, and instead of those cheap looking plain seats, I had the Recaro like Lear Siegler adjustable bucket seats in tuftted sand grey, with dark grey leather inner seat surfaces and the embroidered Turbo 6 logos. Under the hood, it had braded stainless steel hose over the turbocharger pipes that 2 people instinctively touched, trying to squeeze when hot before I could warn them, thinking it was like a radiator hose. Lol Also, only the 84 had a chrome and black enamel retangular emblem on the top of the ignition coil that read, Sequential Fuel Injection.
Yes, not fast by today's satndards, especially the 1984/85 non intercooled models, but it could seriously smoke the tires for about 50', and I totally dusted a 454 1974 Pontiac T/A at a red light when it was pretty new. Military guys that wanted to know how fast it was. With the low gearing, I was gone before that V8 could get to it's peak power.
It was an awesome cruising vehicle. Other than wheel locks, a locking gas cap, clear license plate covers and black metal frames, I would try to keep this GN as original as possible. If it were notsuch a documented collectirs car, I would replace the retractable radio antenna with a FM black fixed mast one, like on the Chevy Monte Carlo SS, custom gas and brake pedals, legal ceramic smoke tint windows, remove the 3.8L S.F.I. Turbo emblems from the hood bukge for a smoother look, stock configuration aftermarket exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, it the Stainless Steel Borla exhaust made for this car with the fancy intercooled exhaust tips, most of the GN aftermarket dress up options that didn't hack or alter the car, and the aftermarket suspension mods like the graphite polyurethane suspension bushings, Gikstrad engineering suspension hop ups, with a GNX like differential finned aluminum rear cover and traction bar assembly, if I could still have them, and underhood and behind the rear seat chassis braces and parts from Kenne Bell. If I could find them. Also, the Crystalite Engineering side body skirts like the IROC-Z Camaros, and the clear Extand curved headlight covers.
Also nice chrome anti theft inner door lock shafts on the tops of the doors, and BUICK block letter exterior door handle inserts like I had on my GN.
If you had a GN back then, and was up on what was available then, you would know what I was talking about. We even had a GN car club in Hawaii and would go in cruises with about 30 GNs, and 2 GNXs. I had the only 2984, and there were I think 2 1985 GNs. In our group. Most all if the GN owners here joined the club back then.
They should make a movie about your story! 👍😂 Geez Louize that was boring!
The car presents itself so well I can't believe you guys didn't fix the headliner🤔
Video was shot the day the car came in. Before the buy purchased it the next week, we did fix it
@@FlemingsUltimateGarage cool! I should have known you guys would do the right thing! I had one of these cars from new and I know they were notorious for headliner issues in the 80s👍👍
@@cababy1296 That, the hurst/olds 442 and Montes all have a similar issue
Flemings Ultimate Garage You should have gave that woman more than 7k for that car! When karma comes your way you’ll know why! Are you hurting for money that bad! I all ready told my wife if I die what to sell my Cars and trucks for, and my Bullet and Ranger bass boats, so some one like you doesn’t rip her off! I hope the guy was joking that you only gave her 7k! I’ve all ways enjoyed your channel! I couldn’t sleep at night if I ripped someone off like that!
@@jimmycline4778 yeah, that's foul if true..
You found the "Unicorn" and it is Turbo Charged
Is this one still available? Teen Dream to have one like that...
Let me know...I'm in Missouri. Great Vids, btw..
Such a beautiful car
About $40K in today's money
7:07 he's killing me, leaving wad of keys in trunk keyhole, banging the paint when trunk is lifted & closed. Very Bad Habit! The original owner again, is turning in his grave!
I agree. Why would he leave the keys in the trunk? So they can scrape the paint? Or did he slam the trunk trying to break the f****** lock? And who revs and engine with it out being in gear? That is a great way to bend the pushrods. This guy does not know how to treat a nice car
He doesn’t care! He ripped the old lady off giving her 7k for it ,she didn’t know what she had, she probably wanted 10k, he probably told her I would but this is a 87 Buick Regal ma’am the best I can do is 5k, she says can you give me 7k? He probably told her I’m going to take a loss on this one, but your such a sweet lady I’ll give you 7k! 😞😡
@@jimmycline4778 exactly how that went down - I'd put money on it..
It's a damn shame that Buick came up an even better V6engine, a year after the car was taken of production.

@@Joey_Bentley They absolutely DID put that in the 93 I think? That's absolutely true fact that it was indeed stuck in the TA for a year and hence that one was called the Firebird Grand National or some variation, but yeah that happened for real
No power mirrors.....i remember they got like a little stick to move the mirrors
Awesome vehicle, VERY annoying salesman. Why did you slam down the hood and leave the keys in lock of the trunk when you opened it. The original owner is probably yelling at you for doing that. What a tool.
A couple of cops in Louisville had cars pulled over everyday on I64 in these with tinted windows
I want the silver chevelle in the corner
That Numbers Matching SS396 Chevelle is still available, call us at 301-816-1000
Bimmerburner Yes that ‘70 SS is sweet but I hate the black vinyl roof ones.
This guy had to have said "Alright" at least a thousand times dude.
so?
The way you close the hood your gonna dent it
Alright alright alright.
Its hard to decide who would win between this and a 69 charger
How much?
Alright.
"Alright"
Lmao
How much!!?
$45k
I think that's reasonable for this car, if they fix the sagging headliner, like mentioned above.
that was on the list and has been completed!
It's a nice car, my brother in law had a T Type, fast, but this is faster, not a big80s guy, but if I was buying 80s I'll take one of these, and a Lincoln MK VII please, cause that's what I had then,
T-Types were exactly as fast... exactly the same drive-train. I owned 2 Grand Nationals and 2 T-Types. Just the trim and paint were different. I chose the white T-Type with blue cloth bench seats and a column shift to get into the 10's with bolt-ons. Definitely fast.
IN 87 when the T Type was replaced by the Turbo T, you could get a 307 in it. Odd choice, but people did.
@Charlie B a kid I went to highschool with, his dad had an 87 regal, factory non turbo car, v6, with the blackout package (black bumpers, grille) grey interior, t tops, had the rear spoiler, and turbo hood, had aluminum wheels. It did not have the front air dams. Hid dad worked at a Cadillac dealership, he said someone ordered it like this, wanted the look not the speed! I have never seen another one like it. Ive seen them with black paint but always have the chrome bumpers. Pretty cool car just thought id share!
I want that car. Or a 1970 trans am.
Red ,white or orange, with a big block.
If you have to ask how much, you can't afford this car.
If you click the link, it will take you to the full break down of the car
First think I see is a dent on the hood when he puts the paper next to it
All right all right how many times he gonna say that!!!! Annoying as hell guy
He never did say what production number it is. Alwrong.
100k car with a messed up headliner, nice.
FRED SCHOENENBERGER we thought it was nice too so we replaced it!
Sold for 41k bought for 7k
Gustavo Amador how do you know that Fleming’s only paid 7k for it?
You could buy 2 and a half grand nationals for 100k jack ass!
J T If he did ,he will get Karma his way, you don’t rip people off, I know he has to make a profit , I flip cars on the side and I’m fair, it makes me feel good to sale a nice car to some one, they get excited, if I only gave this woman 7k I couldn’t live with myself! I thought he would have at least gave her 20k and double his money! If this is true I will never watch this channel again! 🤬
Wasn't quick enough for me and over 90 miles an hour it was like driving a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood.
Zero aerodynamics. Fortunately I slipped off I95 in south Miami before the Trooper closed in any further. Quick right then left eŕŕrrrrt in the dust stop He Continued on down a dead end road sure he had my ass I circled around got back on 95 went home my right foot shaking. Later I got the 89 TA THIS
