After physically in China, seeing China with your own eyes you are sure to know by now how much your people have been lied by your government and government controlled media.
Let me share with you my encountered with a young American couple in Thailand recently. They have flown from US to Singapore and they were traveling from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and then to Cambodia and Vietnam and before going back to US.
We have happened to have a casual friendly conversation and I have asked them since they are so near to China, why not go to China just for a few days to see China. I told them China is very interesting. But I was surprised of what they told me.
They said according to all their media reports in US and advice by their government and many other people. They were advice and told not to travel to China. Even their parents don't allow them to go to China. They were told China is not a safe country to travel. Very dirty, poor rundown infrastructures, poor transportation system, polluted, homeless people are everywhere waiting to rob tourists are common even in broad daylight. Chances of been detained for no reason by the Communist government is very high. Because China is an authoritarian state and all foreign visitors are monitored by thousands of cameras everywhere and every minute where foreign visitors go. Foreign visitors from western countries can be detained for months or even years for no reason.
All these is what they know about China. The couple is like below 25 years of age and already so badly brainwashed by their government and controlled media. This is really sad to hear this is how your government educates the young people. What kind of future all these young people will ended up with?

"China has over 600 million poor with $140 monthly income: Premier Li Keqiang"
China has over 600 million people whose monthly income is barely 1,000 yuan (USD 140) and their lives have further been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, Premier Li Keqiang said on Thursday.
"The average per-capita annual income in China is 30,000 yuan (USD 4,193), but there are over 600 million people whose monthly income is barely 1,000 yuan (USD 140), not enough to rent a room in the Chinese cities," Li said while addressing his annual press conference here.
He said many families encountered difficulties due the COVID-19 impact.
Li said that China now faces a daunting task in slashing absolute poverty.
Before the novel coronavirus struck, there were about five million people living below the official poverty line. Because of the disease's impact on the economy, some have fallen back into poverty.
"This year we are determined to end poverty as scheduled," Li said. "This is a solid commitment made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core to the whole of the Chinese society," he said.
Li said the government has decided to expand the coverage of subsistence allowance and unemployment benefits. Some 60 million people in China still live on a subsistence allowance or receive unemployment benefits or other support projects, he said.
Some 30 million Chinese senior citizens live on a pension and the central government has decided to raise their pensions, Li said.
China's economic policies in coping with shocks of the novel coronavirus will focus on keeping jobs and protecting people's livelihoods, he said.
He ruled out big stimulus package to spur economy. In his work report to the National People's Congress on May 21, Li did not fix a GDP target for this year sighting uncertainties.
China's economy contracted to 6.8 per cent in the first quarter for the first time since 1976 due to coronavirus lockdowns.
Li said China's GDP in 2019 reached 99.1 trillion yuan (USD 14 trillion), representing a 6.1 per cent increase over the previous year.
China will take targeted measures instead of a massive stimulus to boost economic growth, Li said.
"Our measures of a fairly large scale are designed to provide vital relief to market entities and revitalise the market with a particular focus on ensuring steady employment and people's livelihoods," Li said.
Li said money invested in the people will be able to generate new wealth, help protect and preserve tax sources, and make public finance more sustainable.
"We will do our utmost to keep China's economic growth stable, and at the same time we must ensure that all measures taken are well-calibrated," he said.
The country has policy reserves in fiscal, financial, social security and other fronts, and will promptly introduce new measures without any hesitation if necessary, Li said.
Keeping China's economic fundamentals stable itself will be a contribution to the world and China will remain a positive force driving global economic recovery and growth, he added.

7:13 Kiwi fruit, in fact, originated in China but was brought back to New Zealand for cultivation by the New Zealanders, and it has been very successful commercially. The Zespri brand comes from New Zealand, so a box of imported kiwi fruit is very expensive, while the local Chinese kiwi fruit next to it is much cheaper.
Kiwi fruit is called 'míhóutáo(means "macaque peach" literally)' in Chinese.

25:30 This type of orange is called a 'sugar orange,' very delicious. In the eyes of Chinese people, it's an addictive fruit. You ask why? Because I often buy one or two boxes of oranges home, and then they disappear in less than a day.

China is a major vegetable consumer, with per capita vegetable consumption five times the world average. There are some helpless reasons for this. Due to climate , China is not suitable for the development of animal husbandry, but it is more suitable for planting. And because it does not have a large plain like the United States, China is not suitable for large-scale mechanized grain cultivation. Small-scale Hand growing is more suitable for vegetables, hence this result. In addition, the Chinese government has a project called the Vegetable Basket, whose goal is to fill every housewife's basket with vegetables. The specific method is to exempt agricultural taxes. In addition, vehicles transporting agricultural products are exempted from highway tolls. At the toll gates of highway bridges and tunnels, they have special channels to pass for free.

What is supporting that low price and quality products is the infrastructure miracle that includes electricity, water, roads, trucks, distribution operations, and above all, a safe society that has very little overhead in crime and liability. In another word, Chinese society and government creates a "frictionless" environment for competing businesses and demanding consumers.
On the other hand, US is gradually sliding into a "chaotic" or "heavily friction" society with actionless government. Well, actually the government is just "actionless" in solving problems but it actually actively sabotages the Global Trading, creating much higher cost for trade. As such, the infrastructure in US is breaking down, the trade is drying up, the businesses are in defense against all the chaos in society, and the people are suffering.
As people would like to say, "沒有對比就沒有傷害" (no comparison, no hurt feeling). Only when you start comparing, you would realize how the world "could, should, shall" do. Do not hide behind empty ideology slogans but actually compare with FACTS.

Thins are affordable in China because, China does not print incessant amount of fiat currency, to support a highly financialized stocks and shares sector, which is like a giant casino benifitting only the corporate high rollers.
Instead china focused more on manufacturing economy, making and selling real tangible stuff to the world like EVs, HSR, toys, household goods, high end and low end electronics, pretty much everything you'd find in a household.
That way, wealth growth is controlled, so that the poor can still afford "stuff".
Look at U$, you could be earning $100K and still be bankrupted if you have health issues.

Say current exchange rate is 7.19 in March 2024. US$ 100 exchanges for RMB 719, vice versa. That is nominal.
For expenditure in both countries, US$ 100 within USA is not as good as RMB 719 within Mainland China.
Per IMF and World Bank figures, conversion of China RMB Nominal to China RMB PPP is 1.7-1.8
Due to PPP, US$ 170-180 goods purchased in USA = RMB 719 goods purchased in Mainland China.

wow Taiwan it is $2.39 probably because there is better alternatives, like Dim Sum, ramen, bbq pork, Bao, rice dishes, etc.

Why veggies in china are cheaper in price?? It's because the government support the farmers. There's a seedling department in every rural areas in china. Why seedling? Whats the connection to veggies? Planting veggies wasn't an easy task, now if there's seedling provided by the government, those seedlings who was already ready to be planted will grow in farmlands once it was transplanted unlike planting seeds and wait for the germination processed of seeds until it grows. Chinese seedling industry was a big factor which is why china have cheaper veggie prices. Also the chinese people follow the 24 solar calendar which helped the chinese people on their planting needs. They will know what fruits or veggies to plant based on the 24 solar calendar term which invented by ancient chinese.

    1RMB = R2,62
Our carrots for 1kg is around R15
    A 3kg bag is like R34
But China’s carrots are 2,90 RMB which equals to R7,60

I have strong disdain to seeing homeless encampment, drug-addicts, youth gangs and many other types of urban blights readily seen in numerous American cities. Let alone, to bring my children to see such things lol.
