Let me share with you my encountered with a young American couple in Thailand recently. They have flown from US to Singapore and they were traveling from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and then to Cambodia and Vietnam and before going back to US. We have happened to have a casual friendly conversation and I have asked them since they are so near to China, why not go to China just for a few days to see China. I told them China is very interesting. But I was surprised of what they told me. They said according to all their media reports in US and advice by their government and many other people. They were advice and told not to travel to China. Even their parents don't allow them to go to China. They were told China is not a safe country to travel. Very dirty, poor rundown infrastructures, poor transportation system, polluted, homeless people are everywhere waiting to rob tourists are common even in broad daylight. Chances of been detained for no reason by the Communist government is very high. He said many families encountered difficulties due the COVID-19 impact. Li said that China now faces a daunting task in slashing absolute poverty. Before the novel coronavirus struck, there were about five million people living below the official poverty line. Because of the disease's impact on the economy, some have fallen back into poverty. China's economic policies in coping with shocks of the novel coronavirus will focus on keeping jobs and protecting people's livelihoods, he said. He ruled out big stimulus package to spur economy. In his work report to the National People's Congress on May 21, Li did not fix a GDP target for this year sighting uncertainties. China's economy contracted to 6.8 per cent in the first quarter for the first time since 1976 due to coronavirus lockdowns. Li said China's GDP in 2019 reached 99.1 trillion yuan (USD 14 trillion), representing a 6.1 per cent increase over the previous year. China will take targeted measures instead of a massive stimulus to boost economic growth, Li said. "Our measures of a fairly large scale are designed to provide vital relief to market entities and revitalise the market with a particular focus on ensuring steady employment and people's livelihoods," Li said. What is supporting that low price and quality products is the infrastructure miracle that includes electricity, water, roads, trucks, distribution operations, and above all, a safe society that has very little overhead in crime and liability. In another word, Chinese society and government creates a "frictionless" environment for competing businesses and demanding consumers. On the other hand, US is gradually sliding into a "chaotic" or "heavily friction" society with actionless government. Well, actually the government is just "actionless" in solving problems but it actually actively sabotages the Global Trading, creating much higher cost for trade. As such, the infrastructure in US is breaking down, the trade is drying up, the businesses are in defense against all the chaos in society, and the people are suffering. As people would like to say, "沒有對比就沒有傷害" (no comparison, no hurt feeling). Only when you start comparing, you would realize how the world "could, should, shall" do. Do not hide behind empty ideology slogans but actually compare with FACTS.
America has democracy and freedom, and the most valuable votes. You can elect anyone you like to be a leader! China only has cheap goods and relatively new infrastructure, but he has no sacred vote! That's why America is always number one.

@jimkuan8493 Trump's return will solve all this, he will bring a safe environment, the return of trade, inflation will be reduced, and everything will be better.

China is a major vegetable consumer, with per capita vegetable consumption five times the world average. There are some helpless reasons for this. Due to climate , China is not suitable for the development of animal husbandry, but it is more suitable for planting. And because it does not have a large plain like the United States, China is not suitable for large-scale mechanized grain cultivation. Small-scale Hand growing is more suitable for vegetables, hence this result. In addition, the Chinese government has a project called the Vegetable Basket, whose goal is to fill every housewife's basket with vegetables. The specific method is to exempt agricultural taxes. In addition, vehicles transporting agricultural products are exempted from highway tolls. At the toll gates of highway bridges and tunnels, they have special channels to pass for free.
No, the American diet was not naturally what it is today. In fact, before the oil crisis, the per capita vegetable intake in the United States was about the same as in China today.
However, China's per capita meat consumption is basically the same as the average level of developed countries, except that Chinese people mainly consume pork, chicken and fish.
The Chinese meat consumption is approaching that in the west. The average Chinese consumed 45 kilograms of meat that in 100 lbs per person. The are also large consumers of fish.
For a person who spent 20 yrs in China and 20 years in US, the old saying always right, the best style for working class is always “earn dollar while remote work from China”. Then u are living in heaven. Just too affordable
Weird that out of all China travel channels, nobody talked about no sales tax. In some parts of California it's 7.75% and Washington state are one of the highest in America 10.3%
In China sales tax is only for non-essential goods like tobacco and cosmetic. China 's tax system is more like Europe than America, which rely more on value-added tax than sales tax.
@@nicky12951All the food in this video has a 13% tax. And the price shown here already contains the tax. The tax rate in China is not low, but the whole price is cheap.

A few years back, those big supermarkets would be packed with people. But now many just shop online. Supermarkets deliver to you within 30 min or so. I'm surprised to see that Walmart seems doing ok in GuangZhou. Many of the traditional supermarkets are struggling in Shanghai, if not closed.
When I was in China I surprisingly loved the cucumber flavored Lay’s potato chips, as well as the ketchup flavored ones too. It tasted nothing like cucumbers or ketchup, it was actually pretty good.
In fact, due to the extreme development of e-commerce, many large supermarkets are disappearing in China's first-tier cities. As people shop more online, the rising cost of rent has led to the closure of these supermarkets.

China's gdp is calculated according to the total value of goods produced (the cost price of goods), while the United States' gdp is calculated according to the total value of goods sold. China's consumption is sluggish now, and inflation in the United States is serious. In fact, both are exaggerated.
Say current exchange rate is 7.19 in March 2024. US$ 100 exchanges for RMB 719, vice versa. That is nominal. For expenditure in both countries, US$ 100 within USA is not as good as RMB 719 within Mainland China. Per IMF and World Bank figures, conversion of China RMB Nominal to China RMB PPP is 1.7-1.8 Due to PPP, US$ 170-180 goods purchased in USA = RMB 719 goods purchased in Mainland China.

Why veggies in china are cheaper in price?? It's because the government support the farmers. There's a seedling department in every rural areas in china. Why seedling? Whats the connection to veggies? Planting veggies wasn't an easy task, now if there's seedling provided by the government, those seedlings who was already ready to be planted will grow in farmlands once it was transplanted unlike planting seeds and wait for the germination processed of seeds until it grows. Chinese seedling industry was a big factor which is why china have cheaper veggie prices. Also the chinese people follow the 24 solar calendar which helped the chinese people on their planting needs. They will know what fruits or veggies to plant based on the 24 solar calendar term which invented by ancient chinese.

Health care, rent and food. The necessary things in life.

这叫什么原因,只是我们中国人喜欢中蔬菜,没有蔬菜吃不下饭的那种,这就是中国的肥胖比例是很低的原因

GDP by US dollar is just so wrong
Right, have to count on PPP
China's gdp is calculated according to the total value of goods produced (the cost price of goods), while the United States' gdp is calculated according to the total value of goods sold. China's consumption is sluggish now, and inflation in the United States is serious. In fact, both are exaggerated.
Say current exchange rate is 7.19 in March 2024. US$ 100 exchanges for RMB 719, vice versa. That is nominal.
For expenditure in both countries, US$ 100 within USA is not as good as RMB 719 within Mainland China.
Per IMF and World Bank figures, conversion of China RMB Nominal to China RMB PPP is 1.7-1.8
Due to PPP, US$ 170-180 goods purchased in USA = RMB 719 goods purchased in Mainland China.
無所謂。美國得到面子,我們努力發展,不挺好。
