In 1937, the Japanese imperial soldiers started the full scale invasion of China by landing at the Hangzhou Bay, marched north to captured Shanghai, and then launched a three-prong attack of the then China capital city Nanjing, massacred 300,000 civilians before moving on to occupy the other parts of China, perpetrating the atrocities to kill a total of 20 millions Chinese soldiers and civilians in seven years. Japan had vowed to conquer the entire China in three months but was defeated in 1945. I guess most of the visitors to Hangzhou do not know this part of the history.

The open blocks here are designed for luxury goods, cosmetic brands and some interesting local brands. When you want to eat you can go to one of the neighboring open blocks or indoors - there will be thousands of different types of restaurants waiting for you!

They have glass bathrooms & toilets so they can get more rooms in each corridor without having to place the bathroom next to the window cos that takes up the 1/2 the width of the bedroom. It is a glass cubicle to let some natural light into the bathroom ,also to reduce the possibility of mould growing in the bathroom. It isn't necessarily anything to do with love hotels!

Although Hangzhou was the capitol city named Ling-an (臨安) of Southern Song (南宋) in the 12th century, the city was largely built by Qian Liu (錢鏐) during the chaotic five-dynasty-ten-nation era (五代十國 907AD-960AD) between the Tang Dynasty (唐朝) and Song Dynasty (宋朝), when he was the king of the Wu Yue (吳越) Country. Perhaps “point”is not a right translation. “Click to choose your drink on your phone”is more easier for you to understand.

It's all about money. Media, western or not, need fundings to survive. To get that funding they need to talk shit about China. People working at these media have family to feed, so they have to do this.
