Totally nonsense! Americans have been visiting China for decades. When did your government tell you not to go to China? This is just another piece of stupid Chinese communist propaganda, full of lies and ignorance. How many days have you been in China? How many places have you been to in China? How can you claim you know real China if you just stayed in China in so limited time and so limited places as nothing more than a short-time tourist?

China is not safe 2023 :
      1. A man was selling a tank-shaped ice cream and was arrested. His social media accounts all suspended .
      2. Thousands of people who report on disasters like an outbreak, flood disasters, building fires, and other fatal accidents get arrested and silenced .
      3. Human Rights lawyers who defend the innocent and the oppressed are also arrested.
      4. You can easily buy a wife or children especially in rural areas of China. Child kidnappings and human trafficking are prevalent. It's a very serious crisis in China.
      5. Stand-up comedians get arrested for making fun of the government and its officials.
      6. In an economic slump, those who are bankrupt are not protected . They can't declare personal bankruptcy, and become prisoners for life in their own debt . All bank accounts are automatically frozen including Alipay and WeChat Pay.
      7. Any behavior that is not in line with the government narrative will get demerits from your social credit score . Having a low score will bar you from many necessities in life like you won't be able to hail a taxi nor book a hotel nor buy a plane ticket.
      8. When you do business, you'll be forced by many government officials to pay bribes or else your business won't go anywhere. The result is cutting corners , substandard quality products, Tofu dregs , collapsing buildings and bridges are common.
      9. If you can't afford an apartment, then you can't get a Hukou 户口.
Under China's hukou system, each citizen is required to register in one and only one place of (permanent) residence. An individual's hukou status defines his or her rights and eligibility for social welfare and various services, including public education and housing, within a specific administrative unit.
As a result, many rural residents migrate to cities without the allowed hukou, losing access to beneficial government services and often resorting to poor housing conditions. Larger cities often limit new hukou to wealthy households, thus, leaving poorer urban residents with worse living conditions.
      10. Planned economy never works, and will affect everyone in society. 革命 2.0 Just like the Cultural revolution in the past. All the original CEOs of Tech Giants in China like Alibaba, Tencent, Jingdong , Meituan, Douyin, etc have been forced to stepped down and forced to donate money to the CCP government.
      11. The government can force entire cities in strict lockdown, closed shops and hospitals , starving citizens, dying patients who require medical attention because they don't have a green health code every 24 hours.
Delays have caused many deaths .
      12. Man-made disasters are declared as natural disasters , so that the government will not be financially liable.
Examples, water is suddenly discharged from the dams without early warnings to the residents of Zhengzhou, so they are deemed as natural accidents . Thousands have drowned in the subways and tunnels caused by flash floods, and Billions lost to property damage.
Government underground drilling caused a building to sink and lean to one side is declared a natural disaster, so that the government doesn't have to compensate homeowners. (碧桂园 Country Garden in Tianjin)
      13. Bank depositors have lost their life savings in bank scams perpetrated by bank officials in Henan Bank 河南银行, and Zhengzhou Bank 郑州银行,安徽银行,
      14. It's becoming less safe to deposit cash in China's banks . The entire banking system , including the big four state - owned banks , are now restricting withdrawals or online transactions . Just to update my personal information with the bank (建设银行) , it took them literally 2 hours asking me so many personal questions like how much I earn, how much does my family earn, do I use the money for business or for personal use only , etc.
      15. People are not protected from bank defaults because the government themselves are bankrupt.
      16. Your pension can just easily be stolen by the government because most cities are already bankrupt.
      17. A small farmer who sells to a supermarket to earn just a couple of dollars can get fined $15,000 dollars for an unintentional use of pesticide that's over the legal limit .
      18. Farmers can suddenly lose their entire crops and plantation through the sudden imposition of the "Return to Farmlands" policy. Farm management officers can suddenly destroy all the farmers' crops without previous notification.
The government should give at least one year cycle season for the farmers to change their crops without incurring too much financial losses .
      19. CCP'S surveillance technology has been upgraded again. Chat records accessible with just an ID card. Total invasion of privacy.
      20. Wumao army and Little Pinks are Nationalist killers of the Chinese government through Cyber Bullying caused the death of a Mother and many others.
Unveiling a Tragic Incident: Examining the CCP and its Accomplice, the "Big Picture Gang" .
      21. Food safety in China has always been under fire. Gutter oil, tainted rice, poisonous milk powder, food with excessive additives, and a plaque of tainted food products have become a Chinese characteristic, creating a poisonous food chain, eventually finding its way onto the tables of the citizens.
Fake Food and Toxic Food Beyond Imagination.
Gutter oil extracted from filthy sewage, juice made from rotten apples, snacks packed without wearing gloves, dried squid covered with flies, chicken feet directly stepped on with boots, soaking unripe bananas in ripening agent, kneading dough barefooted, and making chili sauce out in the open. A worker who is spraying a ripening agent on the sugarcanes says "he doesn't care if people are poisoned or not, his goal is to simply to sell them", and the lady making gutter oil says she is following legal procedures.
      22. Tofu dregs are everywhere in China. They can suddenly kill you . Poor Construction quality , poor engineering, lack of safety, negligence like in Qiqihar Middle School, theme park disasters, wall tiles falling off , poor drainage systems like in Zhengzhou, nationwide flooding, overflowing dams, weekly gas explosions, etc .
      23. Your life savings can suddenly disappear .
Your life savings can suddenly be stolen by the bank , by the government. Many depositors have had millions stolen from their bank accounts.
      24. The Chinese government will intentionally not warn people before releasing the dam water , so that they will not be responsible for compensation based on property damages or death of the residents. You can get caught in a deadly flash flood.
      25. When your relatives die you cannot get their money from the bank. It will be confiscated by the government.
      26. One can easily get caught in a nuclear fallout just like what happened in September 2023 in inner Mongolia where 800 people suffered radiation poisoning. Several people died at the mining site where radiation leaked. While the general population got exposed to radiation during the storm.
      27. The Chinese government never arranged for the evacuation of their citizens in war-torn areas.
In times of conflict or War the Chinese government doesn't care about its citizens.
      Russian Ukraine War

      34. You can get fined for doing household chores.
      35. You can freeze to death during winter because the farm management police will confiscate your coal.

      37. It is illegal to talk about China's bad economy or worsening economy.

In the summer of 1998, as a financial earthquake devastated Asia's economy, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government won a hard-fought battle to defend the Hong Kong dollar and Hang Seng Index (HSI) against speculative attacks led by American billionaire investor George Soros. George Soros walk away with massive losses.
Backed by Beijing, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) made the controversial decision on August 14 to enter the market, buying up 118 billion HK dollars' (15 billion U.S. dollars) worth of stocks and futures in two breathtaking weeks of trading, and eventually driving out international speculators.
China, have to defend and counter those elites like George Soros (finance speculators) and Rupert Murdoch (Mainstream media giant) these are evil people who are out to destroy peace, destabilize countries economy by using corporate control business and using false democracy narrative, like freedom of speech and human rights and to regime change. These people are the worse violators of all those atrocities of this century.

I am surprised that your train tickets to Hong Kong were unable to obtain the 144 hours visa, so I looked up the customs documents in Chinese. I think the possible reason is that the train station where you departed for Hong Kong does not have a qualified departure port.
According to the customs explanation, there are only four railroad ports that can be used as departure points for Guangzhou's 144 hours visa. I looked up their corresponding train stations and found that there are only two train stations in Guangdong Province where you can actually leave the country by train: Guangzhou East Railway Station and Changping Railway Station. The remaining two railway stations are under renovation and out of service now.
Many major cities in China have more than one train station in each city because of their large populations. And there are more than these two train stations in Guangdong province that you can take a train to Hong Kong, so I'm guessing that's why your train ticket to Hong Kong isn't recognized, but instead your train ticket to Macau is recognized. If this logic is correct, your train to Macau would leave from the Guangzhou East Railway Station or the Changping Railway Station.
The 144 hours visa in other places shouldn't be so complicated. But Hong Kong and Macau are so special as they are considered departures but they belong to China and have extra Chinese travelers, so there are ports that additionally serve Chinese people rather than foreigners. Besides, the 144 hours visa is usually obtained at the airport and entry/exit mostly through the airport, you guys chose to leave the country by rail which is also the reason why the visa becomes complicated.
Hope the information I've provided can help and wish you guys a great time in China.

The weather you were talking about here 8:08 is called frozen rain. The raindrops are below zero degrees but still in liquid form. Once they drop on or touch something, they immediately froze/solidify. Typically after a frozen rain you’ll find it very interesting that the leafs on the tree or bushes is covered by a layer of ice and you can take it off. It’s like a leaf made of ice. It’s crystal clear.

Welcome to Guangzhou, my birthplace, from a Chinese American. Guangzhou is the capital city of Guangdong province and has more than 2000 years of history. It was the capital of Nanyue Kingdom established by Qin Dynasty general Zhao Tuo who also started the Vietnamese Trieu Dynasty (Zhao Dynasty in Chinese), where rice noodles fen (pho in Vietnamese) was invented. Among the Eight Major Regional Chinese Culinary Styles, Cantonese cuisine is the most well known both domestically (with a famous saying “eat in Guangzhou”) and abroad, as Cantonese immigrants with their port opened to the world, immigrated all over the world bringing Cantonese Chinen abroad. So you are at the birthplace of Cantonese cuisine with signature Cantonese dishes like char siu (which the Japanese adopted and call it chashu), dim sum, roasted duck/goose, Claypot rice, roasted suckling pig, cow internal organ stew, etc. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are the first four tiered cities in China. Take a night cruise ride on the Pearl River Zhujiang to enjoy the night views of Guangzhou. Guangzhou is also the birthplace of Donnie Yen who played Ip Man in the Ip Man movie series. You should visit a nearby city, the ancestral home of Bruce Lee (also my paternal ancestral home) called Shunde, where they train Cantonese chefs and where you can enjoy Cantonese yusheng (similar to sashimi), Claypot congee hotpot, and double skinned milk as a dessert. Enjoy your trip in China to dismiss all the misinformation and lies you have heard on American and western media and propaganda channels intentionally demonizing China. Seeing is believing. Blessings and Happy Chinese New Year from a Cantonese Chinese American who grew up in Boston and currently live in Los Angeles and who is tired of all the lies the American media spread about China.

On why you couldn't show your departure from mainland by booking a train ticket to HK, I just searched for some news, and it looks like it was indeed not an allowed route for the purpose of the 144-hour transit when you were there, but it should be now. The rule in Guangdong is that you must enter / exit at specifically designated checkpoints, and from April 16th they've added Hong Kong West Kowloon station as an allowed exit point. I don't know why this has to be so precise. Some people in the comments say you should do your research etc., but I can totally see how it can be a challenge for people who don't speak Chinese to find the authoritative and up-to-date info (honestly for Chinese people ourselves it doesn't always work that well either).

I think it's something like Lemon Chicken I've tried in Hong Kong. It's kinda too sweet for me but still pretty delicious. I miss Hong Kong wish I could pay another visit soon.

I did some research about the rail exits. There are 4 stations listed as the exit ports of 144h-transit in Guangdong province. All of them are along the Guangzhou-Kowloon line connecting Guangzhou and Hong Kong. It's not high speed rail, and it operated for decades, but it stopped service since COVID, and never resumed. That's why you weren't allowed to choose train. Now the high speed rail is very popular, and there are rumors that this regular speed service will be cancelled permanently. The information online about rail exit is indeed confusing. Even the official website of Chinese immigration did not update this information and is still linking to a Guangdong Police webpage that was created in 2019.

God bless to you both! I hope many more American vloggers can reveal the truth through their eyes and experience in China, to show the world China is not what the Western media has portrayed to be what it’s truly is. Chinese and Americans should not be enemies… Chinese adore Americans so I really don’t understand why the US media keeps pushing China and US to the brink of war

    • @dlkjusdjfhur
      @dlkjusdjfhur 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Chinese people worship Americans? What do you worship Americans for? The history of American prosperity? American culture? Or American weapons? Are you a modern person? The reason why the United States regards China as an enemy is simple, because China has already influenced the hegemonic position of the US dollar. The value of the US dollar is not related to gold, and it is based on the influence of the United States. If the United States is no longer the world's number one, then the US dollar will also lose its current credibility. The United States not only sees China as an enemy, but also once saw Britain as an enemy, Japan as an enemy, the European Union as an enemy, and Russia as an enemy. All of these regions have had prosperous economies, and their development has posed a challenge to the United States' position. The United States has dealt with them one by one, and now it's China's turn, that's all. If China is defeated, then the next world's second largest will still be seen as an enemy of the United States. It can be any country, regardless of its name, culture, people, regime, or system. It only depends on whether its economic status will affect the United States.

Hope you guys enjoyed the trip.. even if it had a tiring start.
Perhaps, my suggestion is to set up your VPN before you go to China and you should be able to access the same services.. (I know many people use ExpressVPN, Astrill.. etc)
If you are in Guangzhou (or Shenzhou, Guangdong) already and hungry at 6am, you might as well eat breakfast (dim sum). Then go back to sleep on a full belly after a nice warm and tasty breakfast 😄

8C is cold, South China, HK/Macau included we do not generally have central heating. We some times wear more indoors then we do outdoors. Hahaha Its a very wet cold, its not that lovely crisp cold, and it hits right in to your bones. Many of my overseas friends who also say the same thing you did literally freeze when they come over to our part of the world.
