Have to give it to the Sovereign Refit, as it can cloak, and IF you could manage to break a target lock or two with the spare power and speed, you could really deal a fairly crippling blow at a critical time if you executed it well. Love the Refit, by the way.
I'd love to see an All Good Things Enterprise D vs a Sovereign with the same enhancements - two mega phasers flanking the bridge, a dual torpedo launcher behind the bridge to fire fore and aft, a third nacelle sitting atop a spine enhancement that has new shuttlebays in it and new, larger impulse engines, twin phaser strips above and below a warp pylon fin on the outer nacelles, and a phaser lance on the bottom of the saucer. Once the warp nacelles get in between the target and the saucer section, the phasers stop firing. In the post Nemesis upgrade they even increased the torpedo launchers count to 10, three extra on the dorsal saucer section (a single tube facing forward on Deck 3 and a twin-tube launcher facing aft (located above the aft saucer airlock) as well as two on the secondary hull, both facing aft - one above and one below the secondary hull shuttle-bay.

To answer your question as to "how many megatons compared to a nuke" the torpedoes in Star Trek are, we first have to establish that nukes on Earth are far more devastating than in space since on Earth they cause a chain reaction with the air, using the air as a fuel source and thus they also create a series of giant shockwaves. In space, the nuke would really only have its own fuel to use when it explodes and it wouldn't create any shockwave so the explosion itself is tiny by comparison. However, the radiation travels much further due to not being constrained by atmosphere so for our current level of technology it would be devastating to electronics. However, Star Trek technology has shown that their ships are HEAVILY shielded against EMP and radiation the point where ships often fly right next to (or in some cases directly into) a star. This makes me believe that a nuke's detonation and radiation would be more similar to a weak flash-bang to TNG era ships where it may cause some temporary sensor blindness but that's about it. Also, because a nuke isn't an energized warhead like a photon torpedo, most ships would easily deflect them from getting anywhere near the target via the deflector and/or tractor beam similar to issues discovered with the torpedoes in Enterprise. For the TNG era, it seems that the goal is to produce an energized torpedo that has good shield penetration as well as good armor penetration and then lastly has a powerful enough warhead that when it explodes it can tear apart those super-strong complex alloys that the ships are made of. Thus, I'm pretty sure that the torpedoes are probably significantly less powerful when they explode on Earth than a modern nuke but that's not really a good metric to determine usefulness. There are some weapons in the TNG era that seem designed for maximum explosive yield like tricobalt warheads but even that would simply be the warhead, not necessarily the torpedo itself. Like most weapons in the TNG era, they seem to focus more on creating explosions that can "ripple" (via various released energy types) through ships as opposed to being focused strictly on how to accomplish the largest single exothermic detonation possible.
Nukes and Photon torpedoes aren't directly comparable though. Even if they have same yields, what matter is the type of energy released, conversion to energy efficiency, and its overall USEFULNESS in achieving a desired effect. For example, only 0.1% of fissile material is converted to energy in a nuclear reaction, however for M/AM explosion, the conversion is nearly 100% (aka, almost 1000x difference). Now, lets say you have a starship with shields, armour etc. Nuclear blasts, even if they were in the gigaton range wouldn't be very effective. The type of energy released here is mainly in the form of radiation, and different kinds at best. For M/AM, its gamma radiation, and most of the energy impact is INSTANTANEOUS (vs a slow proliferating effect of nuclear explosion). So, shields and armour would be particularly vulnerable to M/AM warheads... whereas they'd be highly effective against say nukes. This is why direct comparison in yields isn't good. So for those discussions for example about SG 'gatebusters' which are rated at 1.2 Gigatons each, they wouldn't be very effective against shielded targets... much like it was demonstrated in fact. But antimatter warheads (even those set to 64 MT) would in fact be extremely effective in damaging and penetrating shields and even vaporizing armour. Also, Trek makes extensive use of subspace technology to enhance energy outputs and explosive yields. We do have evidence which support high Teraton level range for Trek weapons on a planetary surface. In fact, in order to be able to destroy 30% of a planetary crust for example, 30 photon torpedoes each with about about 70,000 Teratons yield would be needed. Bearing in mind that Photons tend to behave like shaped charges a lot of the time too, so even if the particular fallout isn't the same as it would be for nuclear, the devestation it leaves on a planetary surface would be similarly extreme.
@@deksroning125 That sounds a lot like what I just said just with a different spin on the same information. I'm glad we agree? It kinda seemed like it was phrased as a disagreement at first so I'm unsure if that was what you were going for.
@@deksroning125 I think I can add something to this discussion which is... like phasor technology, photons are a true multi-tool with variable yields, configurable detonation patterns and a highly intelligent and upgradeable technology platform. They can be used for a crazy amount of different tasks, most of which aren't even related to their use as weapons. Photons are such an incredible tool that we see their continued development, miniaturization and use for many hundreds of years. Amongst many other military specific issues when used in space, nukes just simply lack any of that versatility.
Is it only for Remastered right now? Because if not, put it against the Rhode Island in KM. (That ship is a surprisingly strong ship for a Nova class, i can take out a scimitar with it)
The Simatar is a fantastic ship in my top 5 it can take a pounding and deliver constant multi purpose attacks lol a joy to watch......great as all ways RB 😀
Yes. In personal lore the Archangel is the only sovereign to have actually served in the Dominion War. As the Enterprise was the was the only other Sovereign at the time Starfleet would not want to risk putting the flagship on the front lines. So it was refitted and upgraded and another cloak was gifted, this time by the Klingons.
@@thelegendarysolocard don't recall any Gundam works making their way into BC. Though if someone had a usable model and could script it, anything be possible
It's not Megaton firepower you're looking at. Its gigaton. ENT-D warp core was rated at 12.75 exawatts... Photon torpedoes also have a blast zone of 300km per canon (a feat which can only be achieved with 27GT yields in space... and 13.5 GT on a planetary surface). Standard power conversion metrics don't exactly apply to photon torpedoes because they pack subspace technology and exotic materials... along with anti-deuterium (a specific form of anti-matter) all of which in likelihood radically enhance actual yields. Similarly, because at least EW power levels would be diverted to phasers during combat (about 3.5 EW), this would be capable of dishing out 1.2 GT to 2.4GT of firepower (plus, the Defiant was able to double its phaser power by simply routing a plasma conduit to the phaser array - something that didn't actually require siphoning more power from the warp core, but rathe improved on efficiency massively from the available energy - so we can more or less assume that most ships in the fleet have had this mod done to their baseline phaser systems).
so where do I go to do a request?? well it is kind of an odd request Neranda class versus the neo constitution class and the Ambassador class versus the neo constitution
What I like best about the Sovereign class is that there are no children on board. What was the Enterprise D? Hogwarts? 😄 For detention, send them into the holodeck with the safeties off 😆. If Shinzon was on the bridge, Venom saved his life. 😀 I'm roughly his age... my goodness, Nemesis was 22 years ago. 😔

Shinzon did make it very clear in the movie, that he didn't want the Enterprise Destroyed. He ordered them to target Weapon Systems and Shields.
@@davidprinzing8059 not a disagreement at all. Mere expansion on what you said.
5:00 I would like to see how long it takes to repair the ships after these battles.
Okay, how about the Scimitar vs the Wraith Super-Hive ship (powered by a zpm) from the Stargate atlantis finale?
3:55 I would vote for sensors.
Is it only for Remastered right now? Because if not, put it against the Rhode Island in KM. (That ship is a surprisingly strong ship for a Nova class, i can take out a scimitar with it)
I wonder if someone would arm the Sovereign Class with a phaser lance. Seems like the next logic step after aft quantum torpedoes.
You should do the battle damage report at the end of every bstyk😊
What about Archangel vrs Sovereign Mk 2, You did a video on the Mk 2 about 10months ago
I've always felt that the Enterprise E would have more than held its own if it wasn't for the cloak.
The Simatar is a fantastic ship in my top 5 it can take a pounding and deliver constant multi purpose attacks lol a joy to watch......great as all ways RB 😀
It must have been fun designing the Scimitar for Nemesis!! Thanks buddy 🖖
@RetroBadgerGaming 100% what a job lol just imagine 😅
My take is after it's released,I want to see an rbg variant, imagine how much fun that archangel would be...
I wonder how that New sovereign refit will stand against the Enterprise, you know the Eclipse class enterprise G?
Have you ever tried one of each enterprise stoping at the E against the Scimitar?
0:22 So was it somehow designed for war in a different way than the original was? Cause that was a warship, too.
Can we see this archangel vs the gundam seed archangel?
Similarly, because at least EW power levels would be diverted to phasers during combat (about 3.5 EW), this would be capable of dishing out 1.2 GT to 2.4GT of firepower (plus, the Defiant was able to double its phaser power by simply routing a plasma conduit to the phaser array - something that didn't actually require siphoning more power from the warp core, but rathe improved on efficiency massively from the available energy - so we can more or less assume that most ships in the fleet have had this mod done to their baseline phaser systems).
i thought the Sovereign WAS decked out for combat ... sheeesh
The Sovereign looks significantly better with the blue deflector
so where do I go to do a request?? well it is kind of an odd request Neranda class versus the neo constitution class and the Ambassador class versus the neo constitution
Just write them here! I note them all down! No such thing as an odd request :-) . Unless its an escape pod vs a Borg cube.. 🤪
What I like best about the Sovereign class is that there are no children on board.
What was the Enterprise D? Hogwarts? 😄
For detention, send them into the holodeck with the safeties off 😆.
If Shinzon was on the bridge, Venom saved his life. 😀 I'm roughly his age... my goodness, Nemesis was 22 years ago. 😔
I'm making the solar class Enterprise against the Dominion that's never been done
How is a ship originally built for war, upgraded for more war?
Thats derfinetly a worthy refit i wonder if it could beat the titan A or the enterprise G?
Worth a try!😅
The Enterprise-G is weaker than the Emterpris-E and would get obliterated by Shinzon.
I only have a piece of crap laptop, it runs standard game just fine. Any suggestion which mods can run without good PC? I would love to have more different ships.
I would recommend Bridge Commander Remastered. It has low requirements and comes with loads of ships. It's very stable as well. 🖖
@@RetroBadgerGaming It seems I really suck with computers. I was not able to make it work. 😭
I will see more of USS Arvhangel
Match up number one.
Two War sovereign II's & six defiant class starships vs two jem'hadar battleships and eight jem'haddar fighters.
Match up number two.
Scimitar and six romulan war birds of the dominion war era vs two war sovereign II's, two defiant's and two akira's.
Awesome! Added to the list buddy 🖖
PLEASE HAVE V’GER VS THE VOTH CITY SHIP
Now the Scimitar needs to be upgraded and have the neon touch from Graystar ( I think that's him) to stay a predator Against the ever evolving Federation Ships. I would actually see a Scimitar refitted by him and his designs.
If the Enterprise E made into Picard. Darn you Worf!!
🤣🤣 It wasn't his fault! 🤪
1:05 A cloaking device?
I personally would rather see a "Chameleon Field".
F22 vs defiant please.
Never seen the scimitar, Picard lessor's ship that damaged before. I have no idea what I was saying here...apologies.
Has anyone equipped a Sovereign class ship with multiple V.A.Q. warhead multiple launch systems from the Texas Class??
Archangle vs. Enterprise F and Shangri-la Class Refit Enterprise G. Let's see what this War refit Sovereign Class can do in the 25th century!
Finally.........a cloaking device!!!! 🖖
So would this be the Refit Refit Sovereign?
@@Stellar_Hearth1701 Sov/Sovereign Refit Refit?😅
I suppose it would be 😂. Something tells me the Sovereign will be like the Excelsior and be used for a 100 years.
@@RetroBadgerGaming How dare they gotten retired. I think they probably could’ve lasted 200yrs. Hell I did Bridge Commander yesterday did the Excelsior Refit vrs 3 Dominion Bug’s. I think they only retired the Excelsior just cause it didn’t suit the fleet’s aesthetic
@@RetroBadgerGaming and hopefully not cycled out for economy reasons, such as the often cited reason for few Ambassador Class ships
Ahh twin phasers, call back to TOS!
1:21 Well then it's not very canon, is it? Since the canon version lost to one Federation ship.
Shinzon held back in the battle, because he didn't want do destroy Enterprise. If he wished to do that, he could have done it any time.
It's even mentioned in a dialogue in the movie.
Just look how the two romulan warbirds got wrecked by the scimitar.
You could say what you want about Nemesis, but in my humble opinion, the battle was awsome and well written.
My only gripe is that in the first battle why wasn't the Scimitar cloaked and attacking? That is some poor enemy AI.
This version doesn't have the ability to fire whilst cloaked. However it's still the most accurate, in terms of weaponry and power in BC.
It looks like it's from STO. With the darker hull markings.
@@danspawn85 which is funny, as it was developed many years ago.😂
I have since recreated the color scheme on a Sovereign in STO, however I have as the Sentinel.
@@danspawn85 She has since been succeeded by an Odyssey Class Archangel-A now equipped with several wings of Valkyrie fighters, Aquarius Escort, Saucer Sep, experimental Quantum Phasers and a Spinal Phaser Lance. And people think this one is awesome 😎 😁

i bought the game on gog and added that mod but after awhile the game chrashes, does it have something todo thhat im usung 12th gen cpu (P and E cores)
That's odd. I'm not sure to be honest. Did you have many ships on screen? It can crash if there is too many, due to the age of the game engine. 🖖
Which update is this? KM?
This is Bridge Commander Remastered 🖖
Alright cool, so in terms of feats, this version has defeated as many Scimitars as one (1) standard Sovereign-class. Because as I am constantly saying, the Scimitar was beaten by one Sovereign-class (the Valdores did literally none of that work), and the Scimitar is extremely overrated.
Shinzon did make it very clear in the movie, that he didn't want the Enterprise Destroyed. He ordered them to target Weapon Systems and Shields. He took the Enterprise E's warp drive out with his first shot. In my opinion he could have destroyed the Enterprise if he wanted too. Starfleet was so concerned about the Scimitar they had an entire fleet waiting for it. 🖖
but this Sovereign up against an Imperial Star Destroyer and an Ori War ship!!!!
Put this up against the Enterprise-F.
They both have good and bad points but I think it's a straight-out draw
When Starfleet has had entirely enough of your bullshit
??? ships name?
The Enterprise E is the best looking Ship in Star Trek. The D is the ugliest.
I hate that it didn’t get more screen time
It's not a war ship. A awr ship wouldn't have windows 😅
