I love the Archangel. I am glad that it has the original blue deflector dish. That's cool six Defiant's were able to take it out. I'm not surprised it obliterated 5 Defiants. lol. I laughed when you said "With 2 Defiants might be able to do it" nope...jinx it lol.
This makes sense. Sovereigns are such badasses. This game tends to understate the power of phasers in general, and the Type XII in particular. Type XII Phasers are ship-borne versions of the Starbase Type XI Heavy Phasers that can one-shot a Bug Ship or BoP. Every shot is capable of delivering a crippling blow to anything smaller than a medium cruiser. Combined with quantum torpedoes, heavy shields and armor, and yeah. The Defiant Class, aside from the Defiant itself which had a lot of extras thanks to Chief O'Brien, were tough, but not that tough to take on a battleship alone. The Defiant Class' overall power is akin to a heavy cruiser. If we recall, in DS9 episode *_Valiant,_* the Defiant Class Valiant, not equipped with the goodies the original Defiant had, was nearly destroyed by a single Cardassian Keldon Class (dialogue states a Cardassian battlecruiser, there is no Galor variant ever described heavier than a cruiser, so it is either the heavier Keldon or an unseen ship class), so that puts its capabilities in the realm of a heavy cruiser in firepower and survivability. Heavy Cruisers against a battleship, one needs at least 3-to-1 to have a chance.
On a stock galaxy class phasers are 24 megatons per second. So a sovereign or ENT-E I believe it's 100 megatons per second. Archangel much higher. Defiants pulse cannons are 70,000 Terrawatts.
@@joshuarobison3295no.yeah the archangel is powerful but one of them isn’t gonna defeat the cube by its self.and Picards in their so he would probably know a lot about it so they would probably learn it’s weakness

A swarm of Defiants (Sisko's Pimp Hands) is like death from a thousand cuts (pulse phasers). Try as you might, they'll erode your defenses, leading you to your inevitable demise.
I hope you're having a nice Christmas, Badger! :) Meanwhile, civil war is in full swing in Starfleet: - Dozens of Oberth classes have been lost against a single Borg sphere, somebody clearly wanted them out of the way. - Someone also convinced Admiral Janeway of a conspiracy among Sovereign class captains that seeks to ban coffee in the fleet. The result was Sovereign captains going nearly extinct due to being exposed to transphasic weaponry. - Now Cpt. Sisko got to learn that all those ships he has been so fond of got lost in order to eliminate the Archangel. What will happen next ? Is Sisko going to order Chief O'Brien to install an impulse and warp drive on Deep Space Nine so he can slug it out personally with Earth space dock and all of his quantum torpedoes in an attempt to restore order ? Does Cpt. Riker remember that he wanted to launch a protest against the ban of subspace weapons and strike a covert deal with the Son'a ? Will Seven of Nine join the party, having spent her first mission in the Enterprise G with being so unhappy about the ship that she thoroughly borgified it, knowing how to render all the recent anti-Borg weaponry ineffective due to all of her insider knowledge from both worlds ? And what will the Romulans do ? With all that chaos around the Federation, they might already have stolen the blueprints for the Akira class knowing that 18 plasma torpedo launchers combined with a cloaking device are gonna hurt.
The Technology from Voyager transphasic torpedoes and the Ablative Armor Generators equipped on the Defiant Class as new build. Attack with full salvo with transphasic torpedoes fire thru the shield emitters directly with a full squadron of defiants.
One of the issues I've noticed when doing these how many ships videos is that the more ships being AI controlled the less effective the main ship becomes. It stops focusing fire in order to systematically remove enemy ships one by one to changing targets and no longer lining up weapons systems to hit their intended target, especially when wanting to use torpedoes. Should try it from the other way around and see if you get the same results.
A swarm can be significantly more effective if they can coordinate their attacks. For example, if you have four attacking vessels, one is uncloaked and attacks at a distance, drawing fire and hopefully evading some of the torpedoes. Once a salvo of torpedoes are unleashed, the other three uncloaks and simultaneously execute an alpha strike one point, then cloaks until photons are ready again.

"That armor is something else." My guy you didn't even weaken the shields enough for the armor to be a factor when you said that. But yes, the armor is very impressive, because even with a fragile ventral shield in the 1v6 with limited limited weaponry, it hung in there for a bit because of the armor.
The Defiants are more better to be used in packs, they always pack-a-punch. Look back to the Voyager episode Message in a Bottle, an Akira is seen with two Defiants.
Viewer Request 3: U.S.S. Archangel, U.S.S. Defiant, U.S.S. Enterprise E, and U.S.S. Farragut vs Borg Cube. I think this could be interesting, plus, if the four of them fail, maybe add some more ships, like the Texas class, California class, or maybe even the Titan
Yes, that's what Zapp Brannigan said... the key to victory is the element of surprise... SURPRISE! 😀 His ship was the Nimbus 3000? I forget. I doubt that anyone made a copy of that. Oh, well, back to the fight. I'm not familiar with this updated Sovereign class. But if you described it accurately, I would guess that at least 5 Defiants would be needed to take it down. (Zapp's voice): Stop exploding, you cowards! 😄 I was close... six were needed, and I forget how many were lost.
Heh! Sorry, but you kill me with this 'starting with one because you never know', and then blissfully add multiple ships later in the session! Maybe you should run that Voyager episode with the full pursuit force, including the Nebula Class and the Prometheus itself to see if it had any chance against this ship. And if they don't, either up the Defiants or add an Intrepid Class, Voyager itself, or maybe include the Romulan D'Deridexes so ALL the ships from that episode get a shot! On the other hand, I might be too impressed. The Defiant is a hero ship to be sure, but it's hardly the biggest or baddest and six of them were able to bring the Archangel down. The full pursuit force might work just fine.

Hey everyone. Got a question. I just uploaded the uss archangel and everything works fine until I fire torpedoes. Then I get a "tg python bug exception". When I resume, it works fine until a fire torps again. Any solutions?
It sounds like the torpedos are missing. Are you playing it in remastered or kobayashimaru? It's important to use the correct one for the correct mod. I always mix ships up and get similar results 😂
@@robbieatnsudotcom my advice would be to re-copy the remastered version of the Archangel into your remastered install again. Sometimes windows doesn't always copy everything over.
Can you possibly modify the Defiant? Could you replace all of it's escape pods with torpedo drones? Maybe 6 or 7 torpedoes per drone. And replace the warhead's impulse engines with 2 more pulse phaser cannons 🤷♂️
How many ToS Enterprise to defeat each of the other Enterprises ? (Including the alternate reality versions)... That could be fun, and fuel for a few videos I presume ! [ EDIT: And then play it the other way around once the ToS side wins ! ]

Makes sense that a flight of Defiants could get the job done with good tactics. In the show did the Defiants phaser ever have to cool down or recharge between volleys? Either way it would take a If pot then we need a new mod for it. Can we get the Achilles (lore accurate with the dorsal firing quantums) vs the Archangel? How many Valiants would it take to take the Archangel?
Can we see more Nebula and her variants in action, see which Nebula variant is stronger, the weapon pod, sensor pod, or the one with extra nacelles (The USS Melbourne)
How about how many Constitutions refitted (1701-A) would be required in order to defeat the Generations versions of the Galaxy Class? Or how many NX-class (Enterprise series) would be required in order to beat the TOS tv show Constitution class. While all of these videos are interesting, I think there ia a lot of emphasis on TNG era and even post-tng. How about a bit of 22th and 23th century just for a little diversity?
Smaller ship going up against a bigger, more powerful one, six to eight does tend to be the Goldilocks zone, in most of the battles you've uploaded. Unless it's ludicrously one-sided like the Oberth vs Borg Cube one. (chuckles)
The Sovereign wasn’t modded with multi-targeting weapons arrays. Otherwise all the Defiants would be getting hit simultaneously with the various phaser arrays and fore/aft torpedo volleys.
Q: How many Defiants does it take to destroy USS Archangel? A: Six. Five to draw attention away from the sixth while he does all the work by himself. 😛
