    What a beautiful quilt. I am impressed with the different ways you can place your blocks to get such unique quilts. Thank you Laura for a wonderful tutorial.

    Another great tutorial Laura! I'm always looking for ideas for quilt layouts using my larger prints. This one is visually stunning AND seems pretty easy - my two favourite criteria! Thanks for taking the time to design, film, edit and post this video. ~Diana from Toronto

    this is such a fun pattern! and Miss Laura- you are a true "Winter" - I doubt you are old enough to remember the book "Color Me Beautiful" but I saw quite a few demonstrations and was blown away how effective they were! Thanks for showing us this fun, and fast & easy project

    • @SewVeryEasy

      I believe that was a "what colours look best on you" book! I never did figure out my colour...so I'm a winter! thanks:)

      Yes, you most definitely are. It shows best in the clothing you wear and the colors you choose for so many of your projects. I'm a frustrated Autumn- love to wear the "correct" colors, but still want my pinks and purples, so finally decided that now I'm retired I'll wear whatever strikes my mood!

    Beauty, Beards, and Beer - ONLY because you have such beautiful hair, (and because lots of beer was included in this quilt), I hope you will get a chuckle out of this - my first glance at the picture on TH-cam, with you standing directly in front of the quilt, made it appear that you had a Mohawk hairstyle!! I was a bit distressed until I looked more closely.. (And NO, I hadn’t been drinking!!!). Lol! Thank you for the very clear, helpful, and professional videos. And you DO have beautiful hair!

    Love the project and I may make this one. I calculated a different size for the finished quilt than 66.5" x 82.5" unfinished. I found it to be 63.5" x 78.5". If you have 15" finished blocks and 9" finished borders (2+3+4), that would be width of 15*3= 45 plus 9*2 = 18; total of 63" finished for width. For the length, 63+15 = 78" finished.
    I hope you don't feel like I'm correcting you, I'm just trying to make sure I got the measurements correct. I would also like to know the cut size of the larger corner squares.

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't mind at all :) It is very easy to say one thing and mean another:) And yes you are correct about the size. and those corner squares are 9"square cut in half, so you need to squares per block. I will add that to the description, thanks for your help:)

    My son had a good friend who recently passed away at 28, this quilt is totally him! I know it's no longer available, but I sure would like to get my hands on the novelty fabrics for a quilt for his parents. Does anyone here have any recommendations for where to find the beer and beards fabrics? I can find the deer heads still, but no enough of the beards and no bottles. Thank you!

    I know you made this quilt long ago. hoping you can answer my question. What size is the second set squares that you cut into triangles . Is it 11 inches? at 5.3 on your video .

  • @adeleshapiro3582
    @adeleshapiro3582 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is a great quilt-can't wait to make it with novelty prints for Project Linus. I think you may answered this in response to tea quilts but to be sure: the last set of triangles, what size are they? You indicated the first set come from 5" squares cut in half, but I did not hear the information for the outside sets.
    Your videos are always great - thanks for making them and sharing great ideas and projects!

    I am so confused! Normally your instructions are *ahem* so very easy but this one confused me. Are there written directions somewhere so I can figure it out? Love the project...I mean who doesn't love beards & beer. I just struggled with understanding. I'm not a novice quilter, nor am I a master...somewhere in between.

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OK the way I figure is you will need 1yd of each of the dark grays and the light. Red 2.5yds, black 3 yds, the heads, bottle and light grey 2yds. You need to make the quilt 6x6 which gives you 108" square, Add one more border on and you are good to go. A king batting is 120" sq. Please know that I have not tested those amounts out just doing some math.Hope that helps:)
