It was very obvious the comfortability Miss Jenny and Missy have with each other. So fun to watch. Super cute pattern too. Thanks for taking us along on this fun ride.
I absolutely adore Missy!! She needs to be an adopted Doan girl - you ladies were magic together!! So much fun to watch😊 Thank you for a super cute pattern and tutorial- you’re amazing as always. ❤
I cannot wait until you hit 1M subs! I frequently check the number to see how much it has gone up. I hope you do a special video once you get to 1M! You have helped me so much with learning how to quilt and I appreciate this channel more than you’ll ever know!
I always referred to myself as a sewist, not a quilter. Like Jenny I started making competition outfits for gymnasts. Then I learned to quilt by watching Jenny. But it still took me almost ten years to break down and call myself an actual quilter. I still backslide at times and I shy away from other quilters because my confidence is not great. Yet I started making beautiful leotards out of four way stretch fabric which is not easy. I also learned to quilt as a sixty year old person. Anyway I love quilting, the colors the patterns the freedom of putting together the pieces.
I have to say, I love your approach. I started elsewhere. The cuts were the "one half square triangle and then the next one. Then sew them together. You should have a perfect square!" Ha! About one in ten were perfect squares. I've also seen people using a double pin to match the seam lines perfectly. Takes me about 20 minutes to get those seams perfect. The cutting! I love the easy 8 method! Like love it! Amazing. I wanted not to be stressed by the sewing and super close to perfect is enough for me!
What a good video this was! Great banter between Jenny and Missy. I'm a beginner because I've only been quilting for few months My first quilt was a wall hanging and I did line quilting but I FORGOT THE BATTING!🤣 I thought it was kinda light but I didn't realize this until a few weeks later as I was contemplating the wall hanging.😅 My lines were also crooked but all I think of is the batting!! Oh well!!😅
First of all, I loved your chemistry together. I also love that the blocks are just made using HSTs. The colors you used worked so well together! This pattern is very high on my list to do! Great tutorial as always. Thank you!
Love watching you two together. I was laughing along with you. It makes my day, nobody is perfect, and we all should own it. I told someone once, that my quilts are as perfect as me, lol. Beautiful quilt, can’t wait to try this!
Jenny, when I first learn to make hst's. I didn't like them. so, I just kept practicing and now I love them especially all the different patterns you can make from them. thank you for all you have taught me.
The 8 at a time is really cool. Haven’t had a need to use it - yet - as the HST I’ve been using are a different size, but I do like Je ny’s hint about the cutting!
I am from INDIA HYDERABAD TELANGANA STATE , I LIKE JENNY'S WORK V MUCH I TRIED HER TOAT BAGS SHE TEACHES V PATIENTLY AND BEAUTIFULLY , THANK YOU DEAR JENNY
half squares were always a struggle for me. I could never get them to square up properly. The easy 8 method looks like a game changer. I miss sewing and quilting. I'm trying to train my left leg to use the presser foot because my right leg which was my dominant leg had to be amputated, but i feel like im wasting my fabric trying to get my foot to work right. When it does cooperate I'm doing the easy 8 method. I love Missy on Insta, you two are great together and i hope you do more video's together.. I and I'm sure many other's here would love to see Jenny's gnome. (I'm a gnome lover as well)
I know I have been very fussy for being a new quilter. Then, when I saw some that were in the shops and noticed that they were not perfect, I was thrilled!! I still get fussy, lol.😊
If you don't have the correct size square ruler or squaring tool, use painter's tape and mark your larger square for the correct size. I just had to square 80 squares smaller due to a miss cut. Some were ironed open and some were not, and 2 hours later, all were the smaller size. My advice, don't use limited fabric on a mystery quilt. LOL.
great quilt and you2 together are wonderful and I love the the 2nd block in from the left on the top one of the corner 1/2 squares is going the wrong direction and it was kept in.
Probably does not make a big difference, but I like pressing the big square after you sew on both sides of the diagonals. Then cut. Helps it all to lie flat and sets the seams all at once.
How quickly did you see the mistake in the second block of the finished, hanging quilt? I saw it within the first 30 seconds and was shocked that it wasn’t addressed in the whole video. It’s perfectly fine to have errors. We all do it at some point. But, has no one, there, noticed it? 🤔🤷🏼♀️
I. Still working on (after more than a year!) a quilt for my granddaughter that is “supposed to be like the Carpenter’s Star! Well, it’s not quite like that due to several goofs! I ended up with flying geese where there were geese were not supposed to be - and then a couple other hmmmm, but it’s about ready for quilting if and when I finish one row and decide if it needs a border! Hoping for Christmas - she will be 5-1/2 at Christmas and I’m hoping to get it done before she goes to college!!!🫢🫢🫢
Just a suggestion. I worked at a TV station for 36 years. If there was a big height difference between anchors we had the smaller one stand on a little platform so there wasn't as much difference in height. We had 4 and 6 inch platforms. Makes it easier to get a good camera shot.
I think the quilt we saw briefly at the end of the video looked nicer. Some of the fabrics in the quilt on show were so light it looked unbalanced. Perhaps it looked better close up. The pattern is good and after all everyone sees things differently
You have good eyes. If I hadn't read your comment 😂, definitely late on my eye appt. I am not going to listen to the whole video, but was it a test/deliberate.
Jenny, we must see these exclusive Gnomes Missy made for you and Cherry! I've been dying to see what one of Missy's gnomes looks like 😊

Love the humour between you two. I wish I could sew as quickly as you Jenny.😂
What fun! Being a beginner and working with Jenny Doan! I wouldn't mind being an old quilter working with Jenny!
Such a fun quilt. Thanks Jenny and Missy.
Classic Jenny. Teaching and encouraging as they sew. Great video. Beautiful fabric.

I love the pink background! I’ve never been a fan of plain white background.
Love the simplicity of that quilt. I have to be more adventurous with my background colour choice. Thank you
Great pattern. Love the colors in both

Missouri Star, great video keep it up bro
Looks like FUN - How about using 30's reprints?

I love that Jenny is the ‘old pro’ teaching a ‘new pro’. No offense intended, Jenny; I’m older than you!
This is a beautiful pattern. What size did the blocks measure? I love the two colorways shown.
And third! Lol

Why does Jenny take over??? This is her guest to show us 🤷♀️

Is the seam guide on the machine an accessory?
Darling quilt..did notice though the second block in top row has a slight mistake
Was there a sew-off in 2023? Bc if there was, I hv never been able to find it! Will you pls post a link? Thx. Or the exact name of the video? Thx.
Cute quilt. Is the sound low or is it my hearing?🤣
Second :)
Where do I get this triangle ruler & what is it called?
You can find all of our supplies we used here: bit.ly/pinwheelpath_yt
