I just developed this is exact problem on my 97 GMC K1500 as it's also throwing a couple of transmission codes do with the shifter solenoid. Sometimes your instrument cluster can cause the issue.
Have same problem on my 96 I had change neutral switch and speed sensor still have this problem till I did what you did I hit the ignition and rpm worked and the orange indicator light came on so it has to be ignition switch thanks alot bud
I went to the mechanic who fixed my transmission he charged me other 700 hundred he said he was going to change other parts. After 1 week i started having the same issue even i took it to other mechanic they didn’t know how to fix my problem some other guy told me he had to change the whole transmission. After I watched your video my problem solved thanks
You are a god I actually had that same issue just now with my 97 Chevy Half Ton with a 305 engine I got in it went down the road I had no RPMs it wouldn't shift out of first or second gear something like that and I tapped it while I was driving and it went back to normal thank you very freaking much
Mine just started doing this in 07 suburban. I was having trouble starting the truck for a while it’s like I gotta hold the ignition in place for a while like an old cold box Chevy so I believe you’re right something is up. I had to limp this thang to work going about 20
Let me tell you, how stupid I felt typing in the problem I had thinking I would find something to fix it on youtube. Brother I can't thank you enough. I was in full-blown panic mode about an hour ago until I found your video and worked like a champ . BTW mine is a 98 305 and it was the same issue
I sold my c2500 it was first truck, it was stuck in 2nd and 3rd as well, I had my speedometer and rpm’s working, but if this was the problem tho whole time I’m hurt that’s all I gotta say😂
My 95 Tahoe’s speedometer goes to 100 and doesn’t move back down, rpm’s start maxing out once hitting the gas, fuel level drops and won’t adjust until you’re driving….. anyone might think of a solution?
could be a dirty ecm module that is responsible for gauge illumination for gears, speedometer & rpm’s.. also will not shift out of 2nd or go over 30 mph..
@@justinbeggs9312 Transmission fuse slot 20, this is first place look and cheapest fix to look into when troubleshooting. Mine was blown, replaced it and all is working great again, hopefully it stays this way.

i have a 2001 Oldsmonile Bravada i have no speedometer and it only has 1st and 2nd when it shifts to 2nd its hard shift gonna try this then.
