Loving your guides! Me and my friends are new to the game but so far we are all VERY addicted, however when we was fighting mobs we didnt realise you could lock on to them by pressing in the right stick, you should deffo point that out to people it has helped me sooooo much since finding out. Keep up the good work man!

@@infintecatvids8860 I've played both 100s of hours. Don't worry, Conan is fun. Obviously there are similarities but the focus of this game is different, give it a chance. I wish Ark would adopt Conan's building mechanics and Conan could learn from Ark's inventory management / crafting UI.

The wood can be auto placed in the crafting stations etc by hitting L2/LT as soon as you put it in. You don't have to drag it manually
FYI: Going underwater during a Sandstorm gives you the Shelter Buff against the Sandstorms too.
If you come up for Air, regen the Bar fully & then go back under, it is very easy to survive a Sandstorm.
Funny I ran into the sandstorms really early like my first 5 or ten minutes of game play in the starting area , I died a few times I knew about the shelter but I couldn't find or build anything let alone see anything because it was night time at the moment , it basically crept up on me in the shadows 😁

You didnt mention that in that city theres an armour you can get thats secret like the Hyena armour. Its the armour that they wear in the city that looks like clothes & possibly Arabic.

It took me a long time to figure out how to activate a campfire and crafting station. I wish the developers would build a Help feature on the items with the commands on how to control it. That would help a bit.

also i think javlins and spears are the only weapons that work underwater
I dont know about anyone else but, the midnight grove potion has like a 30 second timer before decaying 100 % of the time. You cant walk 50 feet and reach for it. When you purchase it, you gotta slam that puppy right away! Not when ever you want.
I wish you could craft a canoe, or raft or something to travel down the rivers, I played ark for a while and my base was a massive ship I sailed all around the map.
I did that in ark. I ended up losing it to some big ass underwater dinosaur that was easily 50x my size

One of your first journey steps is “climb”.. if you’re aware of anything in the game it’s quite noticeable
The inventory, menu, settings, interface and radial menu, all has to be revised in style, convenience and practicality imo. They are the game's biggest kill points. They dry immersion out very quickly coz they slow down the pace of gameplay way too much. So much actually that my character's job description should be the jolligagging idlerer (from someone else's perspective). Thus the part of the game I really do like and enjoy is pretty much anything that doesn't force me to open my inventory or another.
I have enjoyed the game this far because it is of a Minecraftian origin and it allows to tweak almost everything so you can setup your own world (much is still needed tho).
I would love it if the characters indeed interacted with whatever they were engaging at (job tables for example). Mostly they just stand there and sometimes they just nudge the target. At least they begin the swim animation when engaging deep enough water. Taking notes from Skyrim would be great when it comes to interaction animations.
I had my doubts about this game, but it's actually pretty good overall, bad sides excluded.
@Justice Fine, yes. We all know, however, that fine is not good and good is not great. I believe the devs aim at the game being great. Thus they need all the creative criticism they can get in order to make the game the best there is.
Edit: The leveling system also feels quite retarded coz it doesn't fit this type of genre the game is about. Micromanagement on the other hand is good, but it feels to be of a great hindrance due to the low degree of convenience used in the menu design. Controller feels tedious as well due the same level of mapping design. Considering the level of effort used, I wonder if the devs fully know how PS4 controllers actually work. The other option is that they simply didn't have enough time to think it thorough. 😕
I place all my food and weapon items on the radial. The menu is used for crafting. It works out very well, for me.

The radial menu is the least ambiguous form of a menu the game has and should be used into a higher degree; it has its downside as well, but just because the key mapping isn't thoroughly explored. The key mapping in relation to how the crafting works in the game has to be revised. Merely an example, it's annoying to accidentally crouch near a bench and then hoard their items when you just wanted to get up. It's like the dev team hasn't heard of the method called "press and hold to confirm" (although they have the climbing working in a similar fashion so it's not that I wager).
Bottom line is that they really need to fully learn how a controller works (especially touch pad on a PlayStation controller) in order to design the best suited arrangement of commands or just give us the ability to map the bindings ourselves.
Speaking of giving us abilities, why not allow us to progress and discover things in our own ways and pace? I'm sure there are more ways to make clothes other than using silk (I don't hate spiders, but those in the game, I simply don't want to even see them) or maybe give us a way to produce different types of silk. In our own servers, why not allow us to define which assembly provides what outcome. This way everybody's happy, provided that the devs actually code the necessary props, ingredients and sources to the game that we can take advantage of.
Same thing with our character's development. It's beyond my ability to fathom why my character, with whom I should form / have a deep connection to, would only be able to discover the ability to collect byproduct of barks in their early 50s when I discovered the usefulness of that residue in my early 10s (leveling doesn't correlate character's age, but why isn't it so?)... Breaks immersion.
Again, why not allow us to define what our characters are not able to do and will not be able to provide until learned. Let us really roleplay the part we want to play and finally get rid of some bloating features that merely stretch the gameplay beyond what's reasonable. This way the devs don't have to try guess what we want (failing at it) and they can focus fully on diversifying the world around us instead. We get an immersive reason to roleplay with others (fun thorough styles). Therefore we, the players, need to be able to tame the subjectivity ourselves. If devs themselves try that, the micromanagement part at least might necessarily never reach to greater enough heights (possibly narrowed source of deduction, induction and abduction).
@@Tyrannimarja I agree with much of your assessment. I have thought there should be more elements for full immersion, but, you have to deal with the lemons you are dealt, as they say.
I do love this game though, and running my own server is fun. I do wish we had more controls over our servers on the PS4, as I think the PC servers have more control over theirs.

No doubt the PC version might have more control. The menu system implies so at least, coz it feels like it's a more or less direct import of sorts; one that feels splendid with a mouse and a keyboard, but an utter burden with a controller.

Tip 1: equip a fighter with the knock out club and have them follow you. T3 and T4 with regular heavy armor will knock out NPCs. after that kill them and harvest them with a god's tool and skinning tool.
Tip 2: kidnap baby animals and let them expire. Then put them in the juice press for easy, but not quick, hide/chitin, blood and bones.
Idk if it's new, but I generally just toss the wood into fires and hit L2 and it'll automatically put it in fuel
Well, I managed to kill a legendary elephant whike i was level 43 at boundary spillway because it decided to attack a disconnected players base that had a bunch of level 2 guard thrallsp and a few greater pets (I think it was a tiger, wolf, and bear)
The only way I even managed it was because the thralls and greater pets were taking the aggro and doing most of the damage.
I was transporting like, three baby animals so all I had was an iron pick but I still got the skeleton key.
Whether that was sheer RNG luck or not, I don't know.

Yes!!! I’ve had this issue with 3/5 games I’ve downloaded digitally. My physical discs don’t do it of course, just AC Black Flag, SOMA, & Conan, but Hitman and Gang Beasts do fine. I came to the conclusion that it’s because they’re older games🤷🏼♀️
Drops only happen to people who play them on consoles. Ive had Conan exiles for 2 years now on PC and play it on max graphical settings and dont have any frame rate drops what so ever.

@@xBINARYGODx Look, I'm on pc running this game with sata and nvme SSDs with 1TB of ram have been playing this game 2 years now and haven't had any issues with the game. It has occasional bugs but I'm not here to fucking lie to anyone the game is fun for me especially on a role play level, theres plenty of races to choose from from dragons to were wolfs, tieflings to angels. The mods are plentiful in which almost every server feels like a new game. The devs are continuously supporting the game even after its release many years ago. Performance issues yeah I just dont see them.
At first this game was a bit confusing but after a day or so i got used to it.

For the fuel in campfires, furnaces etc. you can transfer the wood or whatever across, then press LT or L2 and it should just automatically start burning any fuels in there. Sometimes it can burn stuff you don't want it to burn. If you want to make some gruel using wood as a fuel, it might burn the plant fiber instead.

Yeah the building pieces and different styles are amazing. You can make some beautiful stuff with it.
Sandstorms always work from the West to the East, so listen if other players shout a warning. SStorms only damage in the Desert region, but not in Sepermeru or if your South enough of the beginner area river.
Don't stand next a door way in your home EVEN if it's an internal door like a room within a room!!! They are (or were?) bugged. It's as if the sandstorm doesn't know if your inside or outside the door lolz
Sandstorm starts and ends in the specific places, just listen to the lore.

Heads up, the wood comment where you have to move it to the slot to burn. Ive been playing for a few days I haven't had to take this step. I just toss it into the inventory of the crafting place and turn it on.
Im having a problem with servers, every time I lose my progress because the server I was playing became "full", now I cant get back my progress in the server, the game dont allow me to enter. Does anyone knows something about It? Any help would be appreciated, thank you. Great video.

Well i now have another tip because this one keeps really winding me up, so to drop all of somthing in your inventory you press triangle.
If you do this while on the animal pens it will stop all progress and remove everything without a single warning, PLEASE be carefull guys iv just lost 5 and a half hour work because of this.

Partial information of Sepemaru, a friend told me about it and said she had never been attacked there when she showed me the iron fields in the area.
She went in, died, by the npcs inside the area, asked me to go in, the first half of npcs didn't bother me, some towards the campfire did however.
So....there can be hostile npcs in the area, especially since she took at least an hour and 22 deaths or more to get her things back.
Exact same thing happened to me, I posted on reddit and basically got told I was a noob for not knowing..my bad but this damn game leaves out sooooo many details
There's a group of npcs in northwest septemaru that always attack me. They're by some boxes so I got in the habit of just farming them for more loot and xp when I went on sep loot runs.
Game takes about a week of running around starting back in forth in the dessert to even know what your doing. Then after you figure out how to even eat a real meal . Takes another month to stay alive long enough for the purge. In order to learn how to play this game you really have to spend months playing the game. It could be 12 hrs waisted on not doin nothing
unless you have an experienced friend who can help you level, like I did

In addition:
1. Use the Wiki. The game itself wont tell you even the most basic things about the game mechanics (make sure the page is up to date).
2. Some very important crafting recipes can only be gained by interacting with stone plates that are laying around completely unmarked and are extremely easy to miss.
3. When falling you can catch onto walls and objects with the jump-button/key and prevent plunging into your death.
4. Thralls and pets will become a necessity in the harder dungeons, since the HP of high level thralls outnumbers yours and makes them good tanks.
5. Don't rush for avatars. They look cool, but are pure siege weapons against other players bases and almost useless in singleplayer.
6. Get yourself a horse as soon as you can craft saddles, its a huge quality-of-life improvement.

All you need to survive sandstorm is stairs placed next to a rock/vertical surface
To be fair,many crafting stations start on their own,so it does get confusing for everyone ive met until they learn;If it doesnt start it probably needs to be manually started. SOMETIMES though its what youre trying to use. Fuel isnt universal, some stations are picky on what you use.
Also,you didnt show that theres many,many "hidden" fuel choices,like oil from fish,that can be used for burning. Once you unlock fishing nets,oil becomes ridiculously abundant especially if you dont have trees around,& doesnt weigh anything like wood. Also,dry wood can be crafted by putting wood in the dryer or gathered from dead trees & lasts many times longer than wood. Those are just 2 options.

Apparently they changed it & now all crafting stations seem to be manual only. On XBox you have to push LT. Must have been the update recently.

Is there a way to craft a stone skinning knife? And can you repair it? I know you can find one but wasn't able to fix it.
You can't repair things you didn't make, and make sure you have the feat but yes, you can.
Came here because of PS4+ free game! It is unbelievable that you really need to self-learn everything in the game (controls, crafting, etc.). Does anyone know if there is any way to actually see crafting recipes (i.e. what you can actually cook in the different camp fires, or even the Furnaace)? I don't want to have to google the ingredients for everything. For example, I only see the meat recipe on the basic camp fire: didn't even know you could cook gruel on it. Same thing with Bricks in the furnace. I only can see the recipe for Iron Bars.
It's just like ARK, it doesn't hold your hand, I think it's awesome. That's how I managed to put down 1600 hours in ark and still only largely explored 1 map out of 6. This game is no different, it's an epic adventure
They need to add more servers I can’t consistently join any server. Everything is usually full or becomes full.

Ok so I'm being attacked in that village. Is it because I came in and attacked some people right away? Now when I leave and come back or go in certain areas, I have these fools chasing me through the village. I can't fully explore the place now. I just left. Is there a way of getting them to leave you alone?

You have to make a Sandstorm mask. It is possible to survive a sandstorm without the mask, however, it is very difficult to do so, I actually did it by accident once....

Hey I ran into an odd npc just called Berserker Brute at a Yog temple that seemed far more powerful then anything in the area. I managed to catch her, but is she classed as a 'Named' NPC or something else? I only ask because I'd have thought 'named' would mean an actually name. Not just a different description.

Join Elysian Fields pvp server if you want a chill server. The admins are great and everyone is friendly even tho it's pvp.
First thing I did was build a base north of the wall just north of the Savannah area. Then I found out how bad of an idea that was lol

You have to put the items required to make it into the table itself, then it should let you make it

This feels like a fun game on pc, but on ps4, I am really missing some quality-of-life improvements for the UI. The fact that you can't interact with items on your quick wheel from the menu for example, it takes like a dozen button presses to repair a broken tool in your wheel.

On PS4 I can craft an axe or a pickaxe easily but it doesn’t show up in my inventory...? It takes away 5 branches and 5 stone but no weapon or tool... PLEASE HELP!

Conan players should be able to become a God's of war basically using thralls only if they save a god to defend their large army to stop to many from being wiped by another god.
And they don’t tell you this game has tons of bugs...I had started the freaking game twice now and still no NPC sound or Character sound. None what so ever! Everything is muted. 😩😒

Yes. Your builds only last on your server as long as you are paying for it.

3. That area is a second brimstone farm underwater (best I've found is sulfur springs north of unnamed city)
