Hi there, years ago when the travel value of the passport was worthless, I placed my bet and was naturalized in Ukraine. I had a western passport so people at OVIR were wondering what the heck I needed the citizenship. The procedure did have a couple of hick ups but I was very well prepared. Nowdays I hold a residency in Bulgaria. Nice channel !
Do you mean the Hungarian company formation option? I've been looking this up but it only gives you a temporary residence for 1 year and then extension for 2 years, and then a 5 year permanent residency after which you can get citizenship, unless I'm mistaken? Concerned with these non-PR ones that it would fail the taxation office's residency test and make you liable for taxes in your home country (I'm from Australia, we have a DTA with Hungary). Do you also know if there is no DTA (Australia and Bulgaria have no DTA) what this will really mean even if you have PR and can prove you've moved your life there? There are some notable Australians that have moved assets to Bulgaria and now have arrest warrants in Australia for tax evasion... It would be a shame to have to renounce a really good citizenship to avoid this.
@@MichaelRosmer the citizenship side, I am fortunate enough to have it covered - I'm one of the lucky ones who got it as citizenship by descent for free (I know, I should get a lottery ticket)
Thanks Mike, another great video. I'm a big fan of your channel! Any thoughts on the ETF / Mutual Funds / AIF / REIT options that are now available in lieu of the Bulgaria govt bond option? Just looked at the track record - Bulgaria Sofix long term performance has been poor, and one of the main REITs has been quite average too. I do like the passport though, so been reflecting what capital risk one now has to factor in, given govt bonds are no longer available. Thanks
That's a complicated question because how they deal with dual citizenship and you obtaining a second citizenship in Bulgaria has a bunch of exceptions and nuances to it. The answer is you can in a bunch of cases keep your other citizenship but it won't be recognized in Bulgaria, similar to what happens in Ukraine.
Hi OffshoreCitizen, you posted about Hungarian citizenship by exception/Donation in the past. I cannot fid that video anymore. Did you delete it sorry?
@@OffshoreCitizen Cheers mate. Please let me/us know as soon as it’s available because I am very much interested. Kind regards and thanks for all you do…
@@OffshoreCitizen If there’s any other EU CBI Donation program asides Malta preferably the Balkans (simply because of the Jus Sanguinis privileges it Carrie’s with it ), please let us know.
@@OffshoreCitizen This was a recent upload. I think you mentioned a donation of about €700,000 if I’m not mistaken. Please don’t quote me on that.( tongue in cheek) lol.
Hey Michael you mentioned something about paying someone less than the 512k in bonds but you won’t get the money back like you would the bonds. Does this method work for the 5 year plan or is it just the fast track? I would rather pay 150k and not see the money again than wait 5 years to get the 500k back. Limited initial capital.(I’m aware fast track is not possible anymore)
With the fast-track, the money you pay is non-refundable, even after 2 years of getting the citizenship. I am talking about the financing option of the bonds program, which is now obsolete.
I'm not sure where all you can find officiant lists. In my experience it just takes time, alternatively with government connections it can be sped up somewhat.
Very useful. I’m also curious to hear about Hungary.
Hungary is great, I'll make a video in the future
@@MichaelRosmer I can't wait to see your take on Hungary.

@@joebanis3022 yes it's quite easy to get and the cheapest citizenship by investment type option for individuals
Hi Sir, can we cover Ukrainian option for permanent residency or citizenship program (if any). Many thanks 🙏
Yes I'll do something for Ukraine soon
Ok, very interested in the Hungarian option please. Do talk about it soon please and thank you
Will do, it's definitely less accessible due to cost but very good citizenship.

Please how. Much cost the citizenship totally??
Does this program also require you to give up your prior citizenship like the naturalization process does in Bulgaria?

Unfortunately all of that has closed
How long is the money tied up for?( fast track)
You're required to hold them for 2 years after you receive the citizenship

Are there records indicating how many applicants have been successful in obtaining citizenship via this route? I hear it’s not so straightforward.
