Not sure if your know; the US is very likely to allow Bulgarians, Cypriots, Romanians, and Israels into the visa waiver program over the next year. This was announced by the us homeland secretary a few weeks ago. This will make Bulgaria competitive with Malta’s program.
Great video as always, Mike. Definitely an interesting choice. Have you heard anything about Portugal's Highly Qualified Activity visa? I heard that it works like a golden visa with a much lower investment (175k) and there are no minimum stay requirements. Would be great if you can talk about this.
@@OffshoreCitizen the fact that Bulgaria has relatively low labor costs -despite fairly significant socials, and a low corporate tax rate seems to me to be a perfect spot to build an independent staffing company. Of course I haven't examined the labor and employment laws closely enough to spot any of the minefields to avoid yet, but that has potential. Especially as Bulgaria has more than 60 double tax treaties, including tax treaties with most of the jurisdictions where it would be wise to incorporate or place the management and control of an operating company for favorable tax treatment. Even in this new era of substance, and maybe especially in this new era of substance, tax treaties with carve outs for independent agents ie staffing companies that genuinely negotiate arms length transactions to provide key services to companies in jurisdictions with more favorable tax regimes is not a bad idea. If the margins are low enough, you may even keep your Q.B.A.I. high enough to allow you to avoid G.I.L.T.I. for the Americans working to get an EU passport to replace their US passport.
@@RomilCPatel That's very interesting Romil. I've been coming across mixed opinions on this in my research. Some say I'll need to renounce my (non EU) citizenship if I acquire the Bulgarian one through the CBI fast track route, whereas others say that's not necessary. Do you have any credible links/sources that confirm that renunciation won't be required if the CBI route is taken? Would really appreciate if you can share. Many thanks in advance. 😊🙏
Difference between this and the portugal golden visa for hiring 10 people looks like just the time line, and the you dont have to put the money up front. This is nice, but I dont think better than the Portugal one.
@@OffshoreCitizen , no the video is fine! You just go from 33 rpms to 78 when you give your contact info. I am not sure if you aware of it, but watch yourself. 😂

The way you talk about Eastern Europe's and Bulgaria's low salaries is slightly racist. Not outright racist as if you from were a member of KKK but the way your approach the issue shows a not very well hidden sence of superiority.
Okay snowflake, he is simply talking facts. Eastern Europe is poor, and so it has low salaries. This is neither good nor bad, although here it is actually good because it incentivizes him to hire them instead of others…
I actually thought the OPPOSITE. It seemed to me he was praising Bulgaria and saying what suckers people were for sticking with traditional Western European countries when you Bulgaria in particular is such good value and offers the opportunity for a better life -style.

That will be just awesome! Hopefully it goes through. Croatia got a waiver recently. Increases the value of a passport dramatically.

@@OffshoreCitizen For sure
What's your take on the EU plans to create a central register for anything of value that people in the EU own?
What local payroll taxes exist when I pay myself an owner salary from a Bulgarian company as a non-tax-resident?
Can you have duel nationality under this new scheme?
Is this the kind of special contribution to Bulgaria that exempts people from the requirement of renouncing previous citizenships?
Exactly. If you obtain Bulgarian passport by citizenship by investment program you get to keep your other citizenship(s)

@@OffshoreCitizen 😀
Do you know if you can hire 20 employees right way and get the citizenship? rather than hiring 10 one year and 10 another
Is it only for a single person? Or applicable for all incorporators?
From my knowledge you need to own 50% or more of the company.
Bulgaria has a great passport and reasonable tax.
It sure does. Are you considering it?
Can i take Bulgarian citizenship for 3000 euro
You have to renounce your existing citizenship for Bulgarian Passport
Not if you are from North America or Europe.
Not for the CBI program, but you do need to if you naturalize the normal way
