Travis's comedic instinct is beyond words.
I love how they give grog everything. The dumbest person in the party has the best system of identification and keeping up with things. He can't count but he's not gonna lose a single one of those 185 bullets in the entire series.
Its that fun middle ground where that 4th wall is just kinda there, poking its head in
They sort of have to make grog the pack-mule because he has the highest carrying capacity
Don't worry about how he knows that there is 185 bullets when he can't count, Grog just knows.

The magical gun of bleeding it constantly bleeds never stops no one knows where the blood comes from it just bleeds
It bleeds by draining the blood of.the victims but only starts draining a few days afterwards
And in the new campaign they have a apron of bleeding lol
Grog is the funniest fucking character in the universe, the guy who plays him is a genius.

I'm not super positive, but I think that math is one of the few things he's actually good at.
He is good with "shiny things".
He knew he had 170 rounds of ammunition and he knew which gun they were for but he didn't know how many fingers he was holding up.

Taliesin was smart in making Percy farsighted as opposed to nearsighted. Just in case he ever lost his glasses, he could still shoot things fine.

The fact that people later officially refer to Grog as Grand Poobah means that Percy had to go to the effort of walking down to some kind of clerical office and filing official paperwork to ensure that people knew Grog had this title and thst just makes this funnier.
If I remember correctly, the official paperwork was just him going to Cassandra and being like, ‘soooo, Cass….. I might have done something’.
This video randomly popped into my recommendations a little more than a year ago and now I'm fully up to date on critical role and I'm a DM creating and running my own campaign.

But seriously later when some of pikes family visits and grog demands the whitestone cooks to make all the random shit and matt plays the npc like “uhhh, yes...grand poobah...” i literally cried laughing

@@HozukiHangetsu Well yes and no. Technically speaking Pluto was the direct counterpart to the Greek Hades. However it was common for the names of underworld lords to become synonymous with the place itself. Thus Hades being the name of the god and also of the underworld. Over time many deities whose names were used to refer to the afterlife became merged into one. Dis Pater was one such god. He represented the wealth beneath the land aspect of the underworld, another was Orcus who represented more the punishing of souls and Pluto who was kind of just a general caretaker in the same way Hades was. The three became equated with one another and the modern understanding of the roman lord of the underworld was born.
Incidentally the City of Dis comes from Dante's Divine Comedy. D&D pulls an exceptional amount of its infernal material from the first third of Dante's work.
Someone definitely said that Grog should have advantage on knowledge checks about Dis because he was the Grand Poobah of all Dis and That.

At first I had my doubts, but you did an excellent job with this animation. Your art style is cute and all the little additions and flair you put into this animation add to the experience instead of repackaging it. Very well done!
I hope they have this interaction in the TV show. I so need Grog to be titled.
Please do more of these, this is amazing. I humbly suggest Vox Machina vs. the door (Briarwood arc), and Grog vs. the charmed giant over the cask of ale, and his natural 20 headbutt (Underdark arc).

Bullets are shiny. Fingers aren't. Grog is very clear the rest of the party looks to his expertise on shapes, colors, and *shiny things.*

I am so pleased with the word shapes in this. A lot of these small animations just have lips flapping for the words, but such care is here for the shapes to show what’s being said and I LOVE it. Makes it so satisfying to watch.
