Compilation of scanlan and grog "wooping" some gaurds . Upcoming video next Thursday will be a animation one of my own dnd storys so look foward to that
[ REDACTED ] agreed I usually try to have one neg stat on a character to make it fun. Like a Kobold monk with a -2 in STR, a loxodon wizard with neg DEX. Etc.
I love this Captain. He is the real hero of the story, he could be out rolling all Nat 20s adventuring, but instead he's a civil servant. A grinder, he always gets the job done and holds the world together against Dragons despite just being a man.
Hahahaha, This, This is why Tabletop Rpgs will always have a leg over video games. Because unscripted, it's even more hilarious! And best played with friends!
This created a funny moment but I would have let Scanlan succeed on the “. The only way to calm it down it to walk away slowly in different directions “ just because of how out of the box he thought and what they had to do
But that's why dice rolls are such a key part of the story! Yeah, that would have been a cool way to end it, but the dice decided the moment wasn't done yet, and I'm glad it didn't end there because more hilarity ensued!
The Captain is the type of guy who is so incredibly smart, he chooses not to pursue a promotion so he can take it easy on the job, and be able to relax.
I miss town guard antics, jester Dan the platinum dragon or at the asylum was really all we got in the second campaign. It was non stop with grog, scandlan, and Keyleth.
I love this but there is one thing I noticed. When they were looking around only the pupil moved instead of the whole eye which is slightly creeping me out ^^;
couldnt scanlan just have cast invisibility at as higher level so he and grog could disappear and run away?! idk why he was so at a loss for things to do? funny af though.
companyoflosers Isn’t invisibility a verbal, somatic, and material spell? Which they would have time to notice and potentially stop? Casting it before they were surrounded is one thing, after is another.
@@alecLogan with a high enough sleight of hand check, you may be able to get away with it. i doubt that was sam's reasoning for not doing it. also the material component unless it lists a cost, is supplemented by an arcane focus. that part would be easy to miss. and ven if they saw, what would they do? its an action to cast. they may get a swipe at them but at their level it wouldnt matter as long as they just keep running, theyll have advantage to losing them.
@@companyoflosers They were apprehended to begin with because someone recognized Grog, which is something Scanlan would have been added to once they got away, along with the bonus of "that one's probably going to cast something to try and get away, watch out for that."
@@companyoflosers A bard's arcane focus is an instrument so it kind of obvious, plus any guard smarter than Grog would realize two people disappearing right in front of their might have just turned invisible. Scanlan might have been able to use the Major Image to distract them long enough to turn them invisible but during an interrogation it's not really going to work.
Throughout the entire campaign they have always said that Scanlan can only dimension door with people the same size as him. If he had been with Pike they could have done that.
Exactly what a train wreck in slow motion is like...beautiful and terrible at the same time and only getting worse by the moment but you can't stop looking
i believe you should send it in if you havent already.. im sure they would love to converse about it.. but dont take my word for it, im just a comment, not a law or rule..
The best way to get out of trouble is to act like a overly religious paladin If your gear looks off then you could say that you were robbed and decided to give in instead of fighting the crooks because they were human and all lives are important in the eyes of your god, even those that choose to intentionally harm others Kinda hard to argue with a overly religious paladin XD
This is the first, and so far only VM animation I've watched. I watched it long before I actually started watching the show. I just finished watching episode 103. When it got to this part my jaw dropped. I'd forgotten all about it! But Matt saying "That looks just like him" brought it all rushing back.
The more I think about this clip, the more I realize that the guard probably shouldn't recognize Grog at all. Both guards involved were knocked violently unconscious before they were introduced to Grog or Tary. As horrible a concussion as Grog punches would cause, the only reason they would even have a description of anyone involved would be from the merchant
This is where Travis decided his next character would be able to lie really well.
Hahahaha, 10/10 Acting!
you can trust BERTRAND BELL
And Fjord has really paid off. On both intimidation and deception. We also can’t forget how well he does with the ladies.
@@copycrow4486 well, Mathew don't let him forget about it XD
Just so the NPC could roll a nat 20 XD
Impressive for someone of Scanlan's size, to just grab Grog and throw him under the bus so easily
Oh.
This is it. You won this comments section. We’re done people.
* throw him under a bridge :D
@@TimeturnerJ Yasha: I get both of my parents.
Scanlan tried so hard using his magic but it all ended with Grog casting 'Fist' lol

That captain...really deserves a promotion.
The only comptant one in existence
He's the captain for a good reason.
What's higher than captain of the city guards?

I counter this by saying can be better but not always, people can make the table top experience great or shitty
I love that the M9 have carried on the tradition of always making up ridiculous fake names agshdkgdvdk
Hello, my name is.... Archibald Theobold Thunderbird Bunder the Third?
That captain is arresting god killers and still manages to be the most badass character in Taldorei
"...covered in spikes and darkness and giant fish..." I'm really loving this with closed captions.
"WABANK"
When deception fails, WABANK AND RUN AWAY!
Jesus of Suburbia POCKET FIST!!!
grog and scanlan could have killed that entire town. lol

Should I be distracted at how good looking Anime Mathew Mercer is?
Nionivek you imply he isn’t already ruggedly handsome and handsomely rugged?
Any Matt Mercer is always good looking.
Looks like sepheroth
I feel like he’s gonna start using alchemy without a transmutation circle
The Captain is the type of guy who is so incredibly smart, he chooses not to pursue a promotion so he can take it easy on the job, and be able to relax.
I love this happened right before they were going to fight vecna.
*wabank!* is now my new favorite punch sound

This is great. "His final change is complete!!" will never fail to make me laugh.
I love this but there is one thing I noticed. When they were looking around only the pupil moved instead of the whole eye which is slightly creeping me out ^^;
i'd chock it up to grog bursting his eyeball and it just healed up wonky.
All that nonsense only to rely on knocking out the guards
The wanted poster for Burt Reynolds is fantastic.
Pretty sure its for Taryon
I love Scanlans look! Looks soo much better this way.
I know right!
He looks so good!!
Just looks like a basic ass anime protagonist. Looks stupid if anything.
I love that cooperation was just never an option.

I love your style of scalan!
Loved it!
Though I also like what comes directly afterwards, it's such a great moment from the show overall
I love laughing Matt. :)

I've never seen both of them in the same room at the same time...

When it came to scanlan and grog going off on their own, I totally expected them to come running back with guards on their tales.
LMAO second video seeing this group at all...now I want to start from beginning XD
