    My Dad served in Burma with the Seaforh Highlanders; he never talked about any action he was involved in but he did say that their clothes would ultimately rot off their bodies due to the unbearably tropical climate

    Did you ever read "Quartered Safe Out Here" by George McDonald Frasier, about his time in 14th Army? At one point he gives a comprehensive discription of his uniform and equipment.

    George MacDonald Fraser was a Corporal in Burma. He seemed to imply that his Border Regiment never wore helmets, and they always carried bandoliers; this was the ammunition they loaded their rifles from…

    Thoroughly enjoyed the video, would it be possible to do a video on the Indian made wool flannel shirt at some point (if you have one)?

    A bit off topic question. Where can I can get a good WW2 battledress replica (pattern 37 or 40)? I've checked panther store you recommended but it looks like they don't sell them anymore. I'll appreciate any help! Cheers!

    Enjoyed this as always, i have a set of p37 webbing, it includes a Indian skeleton water bottle carrier, i don't know if it was used in the far east, but due to it being blancoed dark green i think not, because as you said blanco washes away in humid conditions and the dark green dye is still stands out, you never know though, also whats your opinion on solder of fortune repro battledress serge , or 1942 pattern blouse and trousers are they any good, thanks you for sharing, ( :

    • @RiflemanMoore
      @RiflemanMoore  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's every chance the carrier has been blancoed post-war, or simply didn't see a jungle. I'll be honest I don't think much of Soldier of Fortune battledress if I'm honest.

      @@RiflemanMoore ok thanks for your opinion
      possibly blancoed post war, its in very good condition but dated 1944 so i suspect it was , but could have never seen a jungle and used somewhere else as you said, keep up the good work
      regards will

    How common was it for the water bottle to be issued/ used without the felt. Did the practice remain in the jungles only or is there evidence of it happening in other theaters?

    • @RiflemanMoore
      @RiflemanMoore  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As said in the video the Indian bottle was not fitted with a felt cover. British examples were. It's not a theatre specific distinction at all, it's a difference between the two bottles designs.

    Sorry to be pedantic, but that's a Bush Shirt, not a Bush Jacket. The two are different, and that's a shirt. Flat bottoms to the upper pocket flaps are the give away.

    Rifleman Moore... Your mannequin is screaming for a head. Why wouldn't you give it a head?

    • @RiflemanMoore
      @RiflemanMoore  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That's where you're wrong, without a head it cannot scream.
