I’m the first viewer. The Royal British Legion needs to do more for Veterans in the U.K. the treatment of British Veterans is unacceptable, homeless Vets, PTSD sufferers, the number of Suicides... Our Government and their actions sickens me. 😡🤬
I knew some XIVth Army veterans, one of whom was a colleague. The others I met when my dad and I blundered into a meeting of the Wisbech branch of the Burma Star Association in a pub called The Locomotive. When it became clear that my dad was a (recently retired) soldier, we were invited to stay. A few years later, my dad became a Yeoman Warder at the Tower of London, and he arranged for them to visit, and see the Ceremony of the Keys. Rest easy Horace, Chris, and the rest of the lads. You're not forgotten ❤️
Good stuff although for a minute there I thought you were describing the Aussies jungle fighting in New Guinea! Also wouldn't mind hearing a bit more about Orde Wingate and his Chindits,now there was a colourful character!
My grandad was here Burma sbs. Never talked only told me his fsvorite guns bren & Tommy. Have great memories of him and still have his fairbairn Sykes fighting knife. Bless him

My mother's father was an artillery gunner in Burma...

I think my Grandad was in the 14TH Army and fought in Burma, If anyone recognizes the name William "Billy" Wylie, please please reply back.
