Is the purpose if the diffuser to distribute the heat more evenly? the last result seemed like the bread didn't heat much at all?

I'm looking into buying one of these smokers and I'm watching alot of videos on it.
Why didn't you show how that thing fits on it? Do you have to move it it you want to use the sear function?
And how much of a difference if you use the extra wood that can go in it?

How did you install the heat diffuser?

I removed the grates and drip shield, and dropped it in directly over the fire pot. It only installs one way so it’s a quick process with no tools required.
