- This is my Pit Boss Savannah review! After cooking on the Savannah 12-15 times, I am extremely excited about this pellet grill from Pit Boss Grills. I have tons of experience on pellet grills and I'd recommend this model to anybody out there.

im actually on your page on FB, been super helpful too, Ive between the pitboss pro 1150 v3, or the savannah. the ONLY thing I wish the savannah has was wifi, but I love the cooking space of the savannah way better than the 1150, I love the 3 tiers, idk choices, choices....
Like many are saying, you’ve pushed me over the line to save up and get one.
How is the construction compared to the pro series gen 2? I've heard that the barrel is thinner in the Savanah is that the case?
Tom thanks for the great review! I have a question about the grill though, does it require an air gap mod? I sorta felt around on the demo model they had at Walmart and it seemed like it had one built in. Thanks again!
Savannah is great right out of the box bud
There is a small Gap there, but I will say Savannah is great, straight out-of-the-box with no mods
I have an OG Austin XL and this will be my next pillet smoker after i get a Masterbuilt Gravity Smoker because charcoal. Then i will have 3 smokers for 2 different cooks and a backup if I run into any technical problems during a cookout😎👌

Hey! I'm looking to upgrade to a larger Pit boss, does this new control have wifi/Bluetooth capabilities?
I haven’t been able to see one in person built, only in a box. How many ten lb butts do you think it can comfortably hold?
Great video, just have a quick question - Pit Boss's website doesn't mention anything about a PID on the Savannah. How do you know it has the PID? Their other models list it but not this one.
Hey bud, it says it on the box, it says it in the manual, and it says it on the sticker on Savannah when you get it out of the box, p i d digital controller

How does the Austin XL compare to the Savannah? I’m upgrading from my little 440D2 and wanting a lot more space to host parties. I know the Savannah has more sq in, but how do the main grates compare size wise?
Both Austin and savanna are great, if I could only have one...

Old stock burner here who has become a pellet grill addict! I have the Austin XL and just got in your diffuser plate. It sounds like the Savanna doesn’t require one? How many trimmed 10 lb Butts do you think will comfortably fit on this smoker? For the $$, does this model turn out as good of product as the Elite in this same size range? 6:36
Same size Barrel as Austin XL difference is everything sits lower in the barrel, more shelves, so yes you could fit a few more butts than your Austin..

Savannah is great right out of the box compared to the pro series I would probably choose Savannah but that being said here comes the new Pro Series three's 😉🔥🔥

If you was to open it up to spritz or check temp on your meat, how many degrees will your cook temp drop? Mine will drop like 100 degrees, whereas on my old pitboss vertical wouldn't drop more than 10 degrees.
It comes with 2 meat probes. So no need to open it for long periods of time to check the temp.

I’m torn between the Savannah or the Pro Series 3. I’ve got the Lexington now that I’ve had for like 3 years and need/ready for something bigger. I’ve been doing research between the 2 but not sure which one, do you have any input or suggestion?
Yeah that's the tough one,, haven't had a chance to get my hands on a pro series3 yet but I can tell you I am not disappointed in Savannah at all, great boss!!

How's that main probe ledge? Looks like it might need a deflector mod?
There is a gap but everything sits lower and it's farther from the temperature probe Savannah works great right out of the box
Seems like it’s gonna b a lil tougher to replace the igniter
Looking at it, I feel like it's going to be a lot easier
Does this model need a heat deflector mod for the broiler plate to sit flush on and leave no gap at the thermometer probe end?
The mini heat deflector is what will make a difference with your temp probe and the broiler plate baffles help with evening out temps across your grate space. They work great together!
Does smoke like a boss make modifications that fit the pit boss elite 1600?
Yes sir, the heat deflector / air gap and all the flame tamers fit your 1600🙂

When i turn my brand new never used savanna on the display board dose not light up and show the temp
Weird, you have a warranty, call Pit Boss for replacement easy fix literally two screws to drop great under Hopper, controller pops right out and then there's three or four plugs..
