    Please don't ever quit doing YOUR style of reviews! I'm ok for you to work on personal things whenever you need to, but the whole reason I am subscribed to you is for those reviews!

  • @Garrett_West

    I prefer your reviews over your other content honestly (not that I don't love the rest of it). You are the most professional and thorough reviewer out there to me and I would really miss it if you stopped. There are many other channels out there with similar content but you've always been the best to me. That's the reason I subscribed.

    On the topic of reviews, while I get wanting to really put time into the city, I feel your reviews really stand out on TH-cam, as so many are just brief, you can barely see what they’re talking about. I love how you really pay attention to all the details and important parts. I completely get the idea of cutting down the review time, but, I’d love to see you still make those great reviews.

  • @GJBricks
    @GJBricks 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Don't stop the reviews! We love how you do them, and personally, I’ve had people asking me to do more of my reviews, including a review of every speed build I do - even the ones I hadn’t planned to (not enough time).
    What I think will happen is build and review combined videos. My recent bus one was popular, although the long hospital one topped it.
    But hear you on the city updates! Building mine makes me super happy! Need more time on it!
    You have such a great city! Do more with it!

  • @pontifexcellence6648

    I would be sad if you stopped reviews - that’s how I discovered your channel. But I would be happy to have 1 or 2 reviews a week with a greater focus on MOCs and the city. Keep up the good work Jang!

  • @twinceptionproductions6083
    @twinceptionproductions6083 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Personally, I quite enjoy your more thorough, in-depth reviews, considerably more than speed builds or fly-by reviews found on some other channels. It allows viewers to experience the set in a more intimate way than just looking at the publicly released pictures, which I like to do before purchasing a set with my hard-earned money. However, I also love seeing your custom creations and I’m a huge fan of New Jang City, and I know many other people are as well. So, make whatever content makes you the happiest, it is your channel after all. That said, if you do plan to do more reviews in the future, I’d love to see your in-depth reviews continue. Just a personal opinion of course.

    It will be sad to not see you break down new sets and voice your honest opinion in your reviews, but if it needs to happen for your sake, go ahead. We will always be eager to see what you bring to the table with your skills of brick building.
    Never turn your hobby into your job or you begin to hate it.
    Congrats on 1 million subscribers!

    Please keep doing review but do them at a pace that makes sense for you. Your reviews are the absolute best ones on youtube and are a major factor in helping me and others pick out which sets to get. I love that your reviews are true reviews and not speed builds or just pictures because they are focused on the end result rather than the build. Speed builds kind of ruin the fun of the building process where as your reviews still leave a bit of mystery to the build of the set itself so even though I know for sure I will like the end result there is still some fun discovery when I build a set that your reviews don't spoil.

  • @Karemaker
    @Karemaker 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    My favourite aspect of your city is the highly detailed "real world" builds. Your mall, zoo, hospital, industry, and commercial buildings I find the most fascinating since you have a meticulous talent for detail and an elegant yet pragmatic approach to the schematics.
    You'll also notice that many of your videos on these types of buildings have garnered a lot of attention. It's probably because Lego City builds are where you excel and there is much more of a void in creator content on this type of building as opposed to the much more popular spacecraft / sci-fi type creations.
    Also I'd like to see you interact more with your viewers. Just answer some more comments on your videos; just a few will do since you're a busy person.

    Death star idea sounds great, but maybe add more dark grey bricks to the death star frame so it feels a bit more beat up or neglected.

  • @Mieze_Katz
    @Mieze_Katz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The death star conversion is a brilliant idea! It looked weird at first glance, but the more you elaborated it, the more I like the idea. Stores and improvised walls and facades - could definitely work! I think there is a similiar rl building in HK (not spheric, but repurposed).It doesn't even need a definitive origin story. Its there, people repurposed it, thats good enough😃

    I'd just like to say Jang that your reviews are the only lego set reviews I will watch. I don't have the money to buy many sets, so I like to keep up to date with what lego is doing. I enjoy when you talk about the value, improvements, faults and successes of sets. It's fun hearing about the new pieces or themes lego will introduce. Your knowledge and creativity really give me inspiration when I build and create on my own. Your opinions in your reviews help me decide when I do want to buy a set and can even help me make decisions on other products I'm interested in because of the system you use. If you choose later on to not continue review videos because they're not the best use of your time, we'll understand. But I want you to know they matter and are the best lego set review videos on the internet.

  • @TheDay500
    @TheDay500 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I also think your reviews are unique, not simply because they are honest and the production values are high, but more because of the attention to detail and the recognition given to certain builds, techniques, colour schemes, which means I get a lot from your reviews even if I do not intend to get that set. The reviews actually inform my MOC building more than the MOC episodes because they let me know the state of the art and give me ideas to immediately try out. I also have the feeling that a lot of designers at LEGO are pleased to have you showcase their work with such dedication. At the same time, I can appreciate that there is just too much for one person to review and it must take a staggering effort, so I hope that if you choose to cut back on reviews, you still continue to do the major ones some. Concerning the work on New Jang City, I might humbly offer a these suggestions. First, delegate, many of the jobs you have mentioned, the skyscraper, the mountain, scould potentially be very repetitive and dull for you and you might find a sap of your creative energy. Second, use more hacks, you can differntiate objects, putting an elevated railway in the mountains, or a mine, would cut back on the amount you have to build and look interesting. You could play with the track in the back to make it hard to predict which tunnel the train comes out of or transplant some of the small houses into the mountian, redress them to look like chalets, or have a ski lift going up. Third, consider that the larger the city gets the more maintainance time it will demand, so think about how to lower than maintainance, by making a note of how much time you spend on what vs value. Fourth, make projects themes, not objects. You said you want more movement, but mostly it comes from the trains, how about a motorized ferris wheel, or ship, a plane looping the skyscraper, a crane that drops goods, changes of light can also creat movement, traffic lights, spotlights, Pair or more jobs up on the same motor to save building. Five, try get more value out of what you already have, Look at the things you have already built and ask what purpose does this serve? can I make it interactive with other objects to which it was previously unrelated? Can I fit it into a story happening in my city? Good luck!

    I think the reason review videos have grown less popular is because it’s harder for non-English speakers to enjoy them while a speed build or picture video they can watch very easily without missing anything. A review on the other hand is very difficult to get the enjoyment and information from if you can’t grasp everything the person is telling you.

    that Death Star underground is cool. Could have been a space battle many year ago against the P.D.F. and aliens. There could be relics from both sides underground

    Your videos and this city is inspiring. So inspiring, that me and my father have decided to start a city. It'll be a bit more of a modern and slightly more technological city, but everything you make is insiring us heavily. Keep up the good work!

    I definitely want to see more of the City than the reviews, though I didn’t know there were new Harry Potter sets until I saw your reviews. I’m obsessed with the trains. Been into model trains since I was little. More City!

    The idea for the Death Star as a makeshift set of shops is awesome and I wholeheartedly approve. One idea I had regarding the upper section with the turrets was to convert them into one of those rotating display stands that are often seen in some stores with postcards, books, sunglasses, and the like.

    I love your review posts, especially when you review sets that I want to get myself, like Creator, City, Harry Potter and such. But I also love your MOC posts and the updates on the City.
    The Death Star idea sonuds really cool, like a "Steampunk"-style small shoppingmall.

    I don't understand speedbuild or 'picture videos', but I love full reviews. Especially yours, with how well made and detailed they are, it would be a shame to lose them. Just my opinion though.

    ohhh i love the death star idea. like how down town cities reuse old buildings. you could also add elevaters, ladders, and stairs. having it as a market place or a living space. would be fun.
