How strange… I had just finished building the latest train station and thought about this train, went to check your review, assumed you’d already reviewed it and here it is, the first video on my feed and a new upload 😂

Totally agree with your "strange" situation, because happened to me too but in different topic. I was repairing my PC, and at the end it need battery replacement. I open my phone, & out of nowhere TH-cam recommended the video for the exact problem.
🤔I'm not paranoid, but makes me wonder if my phone was listening or seeing what I'm doing. Because the odds for that can happened is almost impossible.

Great review of my first Lego train. From the moment I saw it, all I could think was, “I choo-choo-choose you!”
That gap is insane. Practically homicidal design! First thing I did was to customize it for the well-being of minifigdom!

I'm not big into trains, let alone Lego/toy trains, but this is one of the very few train sets I went out of my way to purchase when it first released and it didn't disappoint. It's definitely a great set, especially if you want to get people started off into the world of model trains like myself. I also don't feel it needs all the clear back stickers to be applied. It has a wonderful sleek design.

Thanks for your great review. This is my first LEGO passenger train and I am very happy having two of them combined. They were discounted significantly in Germany, which made the decision easier - on top of your helpful thoughts when it was unveiled. I did not include the motor in the second locomotive but rather inserted some windows and seats. The lights are great in the dark.

So much better than the previous set! It's a shame it's again just half a train and that platform is just silly, but other than that this is pretty much perfect. It is a bit pricey, but over here it has basically been continuously on sale for €100-120, a few times even cheaper. And that's a bargain for so much Lego Train goodness!

    Hi Jang
Big fan here and also part of the silent positive majority 😉😉
    I have a general question:
In this video you clearly state that you are not sponsered by LEGO. Question: Have you ever been offered to become a LEGO Ambassador? (Because you would be perfect for it). And if yes - why did you turn it down?
    Great review btw!
    All the best

Love this train, the only thing stopping me from getting two is 1: the cost and 2: Lego needs to make rechargeable battery boxes again. Also rechargeable conrollers. 10 AAAs is ridiculous in 2023 even if they themselves are rechargeable. thats lots of extra cost. If i do get this ill likely use aftermarket parts to power them and sell the powered up parts.

9:30 That torso also appeared in the Hidden Side Newbury Highschool-set, 70425 (and maybe some other Hidden Side-sets?), that's probably their school/team's mascot on it as well, that little squid (for the... Squids).
Which means that Hidden Side is spreading into your city! This entire train-set is infected with spooks and spirits! No city will ever be safe again, the next train to arrive will be the ghost-train!
Or maybe not. Just saying, it could, it's Lego after all.

The rare sets you reviewed that I have bought! I did actually expect to hear your review before I bought, though apart from the tease in the Lego Train station review, there's not much more and I bought the train anyway.
It is certainly a beauty, and the train runs fast.
I don't have the luxury to buy another, so I converted the other end to a Koploper-ish head. Looks weird, but I've seen some Japanese trains (not the Shinkansen ones).

Nice review Jang Thx a lot ! The usual price is129,99€ in France and we can easily find it at around 90€ on sale or during BF. I bought two of these for 185€ and kept the second Powered Up unit for my Hidden Side train and replace it by a home-made bogie on the tail engine. The result is a very nice and sleek 1,50m long passenger TGV-like piece of machinery !

The previous passenger train (60197) could be run using single controller to control both train motors (if using 2x sets). i.e., both motors (1 forward and 1 reverse) could be controlled using a single button on one controller. For this train, you mentioned 2 controllers are required for that. Is that because there are additional lights now?

Minifig scale trains are basically too narrow to really do something interesting with the interior. They should have been 8 studs wide instead of 6, which also means wider track elements. But that ship has sailed.

    • @frostedbutts4340
      @frostedbutts4340 ปีที่แล้ว

Disagree, and that's from someone who builds 8 wide trains. It absolutely blows the cost out (More than double the pieces really) which doesn't work for a 'toy'.

Lego should make more trains like the 12v era. With light sets and switches with automatic. Think about the possibilities with new technologies they have now instead of the 12v era.
But no, they dump Dots and Vidiyo junk and still make millions of profit.

That gap is ludicrous, but understandable due to the train design. The hollow window frame that is holding the map is a weak design choice. Just overly simplistic for my tastes. Aside from that I think this is a really good train set!
