2023 GAC GS8 review: Ford Explorer rival tested | Top Gear Philippines

- New industry player GAC wants to make an impact on the local market-and when it comes to making a big impact, the GAC GS8 is one of the more imposing-looking cars you’ll come across on the road. Technically, it’s still a midsize SUV, but in terms of sheer size and road presence, it’s bigger than the players in that segment.
What does the asking price of P2,298,000 give you, and can it truly challenge the top-of-mind vehicles in this class? Watch our review to find out.

another no nonsense review. no cringey jokes. just important details.
Its made in China and I'm saying that quiet part out loud even if it sounds irritating to the fanatics who are still stuck in the twilight zone of the pasts who are staunchly against made in China cars but use China made products to support their daily routines....these people are really something 😉.
Agree. Hypocrisy at it's finest!
Laging ganyan katwiran ng mga bilib na bilib sa intsik.. “ayaw mo sa made in china na kotse pero mga gamit sa bahay made in china@ hahaha.. magkaiba kotse sa tabo
Magkaiba made in china na kotsebkaysa made in china na arinola
@@mitch-67korek
@@mitch-67GAC manufactures cars in China for Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda to name a few… hindi tabo na gaya ng nainiisip ng makitid mong utak 😂
What I want to know is how it looks like when in full capacity. How will the rear suspension look like.
Comparing MG RX8 and GAC HS8? which one is better for reliability and long term use.
There should be under hood explain... I mean detail in engine and one more if possible underneath parts. Thanks!
Yay! Another Anton review
Do i need apple car play and android auto for traffic and direction (google map or waze)?
Woaahhh. You are also in TGP na?
So how tall are you? Giving us actual figures would give your viewers a better idea. Thanks
it's so beautiful!
How about review of its engine.
I noticed that you did not elaborate the engine .... Most issues of buyers are parts for Chinese Brand cars.... For me it's an issue
Carplay? AndroidAuto?
shape looks simmilar to the current xc90
Watching from 🇦🇪

Chiếc xe thiết kế quá đẹp. Tôi bắt đầu thấy nền Công nghiệp oto Trung Quốc phát triển.
How is the spare parts situation?
Probably just as bad, if not worse, than Geely I'd reckon.
This or Kia tiloraid?
That is a SUV not a Crossover
LOW GROUND CLEARANCE. ADD 2 INCHEZ FOR ASIAN. DESIGN.
Mux. Fortuner terra . Montero. For asian market. 👍
Question is Top Gear has 8.6m subscribers while the Top Gear Philippines only 90k subscribers?
Ang panget lang sa kotse na yan ung drivers dashboard eh ang panget ng screen parang sinaunang lcd screen pa ung parang may hangin bago mag screen nakakaurat tignan
This is actually smaller in person, like Innova size especially at the rear. Vastly small compared to the cavernous Explorer.
May explorer pa ba sa kalsada? Parang naubos na e
sa mga ayala villages madami gamit pamalengke
The 2022 model for me is bettet cause it has Manual control for AC and better front lights design and GAC logo lights on side mirrors. Hope GAC could modify AC controls
By manual control, I guess your saying physical knobs and switches?
Just saying, no hate Sir 😁
You know where japan/Europe get some of there parts and engines? Guess where
Japan gets it in Japan

Better to put a big guy to review big cars😂
I'm sorry but the commentator doesn't know, millimeters, centimeters or inches when he talks about headroom or legroom?!?!?
Same as the Hyundai palisade
Haven't read bad reviews from china made cars(except trucks because they really have shorter life expectancy compared to japan made ones) as of the present. But have read and heard many bad ones, and to add, have actually witnessed a few stranded on the streets and one being towed from a brand most of you love "because it's american".
I'm not saying it's 100% reliable and durable, but let's wait and see. It's still too early to presume.
We have a car from that American brand and you have no idea how big of a headache it's been for us when the car was unfortunately involved in a minor collision last year. That car of ours was chilling sa Casa from Dec. 2022 to Mid 2023 and they just needed to change the front and rear bumper, and the grills. Mind you, they told us na we'll have the car back in 2 months max. Around early 2023, they suddenly told us the car doesn't move forward and are asking us to pay more (around 6 digits) even though that issue wasn't there when we first brought the car for repairs in Dec. 2022. When we finally got it back mid-2023, my brother (a car guy thru and thru) noticed that there were several bolts missing sa engine, and now, it's back sa Casa since around Aug-Sept. Ugh. Never getting a car from that brand again. Ever.
@chichi_xx Casa stories like this from complacent brands sure are plenty. It's funny what these brands with fanatics can get away with because of reputation.
Where y'all china cars haters here? let's brawl
you look tiny in this car! HOw tall are you?
That's a small engine for a big suv outputting 250hp 400nm torque. Too much stress for a small engine
Good for 2 years then ..........
why are you keep calling it 'crossover'?
Bro because it is? It's a unibody right?
🤣
Because crossovers mostly has a unibody chassis compared to the SUVs that has body on frame..
@@maxmaxmax9002 Oh yah, thank you brother.
@@arthurgadz646 I get it now, thank you brother.
The content is nice but the Video quality is awful.

sayang lang pera nyo jan hahaha
it looks like a hearse, no offense. and it's just too techy for me. i'm happy with my coolray comfort variant.
China china
Thin tires lol and ground clearance so so no good
That means it is meant to be driven comfortably on the highways and not built for off-roading like a typical midsized SUVs..
What would you expect on a crossover? Has a 230mm++ ground clearance? Lmao.
It has the same ground clearance with explorer I think. And it's a crossover (just full size lol)
A lot of people just like to stay on paved roads, wrong assumptions 😂.
Mr. Presenter, you probably are an expert and experienced enough in facts and data in the automobile space but your presentation and communication skills need a lot of work
Nah, he did really well. If you’re expecting to be entertained like in a circus, you go somewhere else and find some clowns.
The presenter did pretty well. I don’t know where you base your standards are in presenting but you seem ignorant of the basic dynamics of presentation.
It's a Toyota innova machine.
innova is a MPV not SUV
Nah made in China
