I don't have a Rolls Royce, I can't afford such a car, I understood 98% of what you said, I don't know what I'm doing here, but I watched the whole video because it's great listening to you. I liked most the story with the table in the restaurant and about what people think of you when you pull up somewhere with that car. I wish you a lot of health and even more fun driving this beautiful car. Greetings from Poland, EU.
I applaud you for wearing a Rolex while working, for a change. Way to go and great example!
Love your no bullshit attitude 👍
Old school pit, pretty cool. Love the commentary, don't ever change 👍🏽
Good storyteller, a wise man and funny as well!
I've had that oil fill funnel for a couple years and absolutely love it . Works on all 4 of my cars , no messy spills . Rock on Bob
I don't know how I got to your video. I don't even own a rolls. But I finished your video because of how well you spoke and the humble point of view of owning one
I don't know why TH-cam pushes these particular videos, but when I do anything with the RR, it gets pushed out. This is the 4th RR oil video I have done.
I had a very British mechanic once tell me about a leak in a Crewe-built RR "If it's British and it doesn't leak, it's because it's out" This was on a 75 Silver Shadow, however I later owned an 88 Silver Spur and, lo and behold, it never leaked a drop! So I guess they figured something out! (the Spur just had to eat up steering racks...) The British-built RR's as old as they are, are much easier to work on and to me, at least, look and drive wonderfully. They are also much easier to buy and self-maintain.
Respect for working on your own rolls Royce!
Hey Bob discovered you from GIV video, really enjoying your videos bud. Keep up the great work that you do!!!
Much love always sending positive vibes brother bob have blessed weekend and friday to
One of the best tools you can buy is a torque wrench
Thankyou Bob for sticking up for us Brits regarding the Rolls Royce....as a car nut it annoys me when people say it is a BMW.....
it is
@@jlaudio8544 Why is it not wearing a BMW badge then....In that case a Bugatti Veyron is just a Volkswagen in a posh frock
Bob, I love the videos, especially on the upkeep on these types of cars.
Thank you Bob for posting a great segment it's always enjoyable watching and listening to you
Very interesting on your maintenance of the rolls 😊
Bob you are a brave man to work on this monster. Greetings from a German RR and Jaaag addict.
I remember visiting Vegas back in 2008 and seeing the Towbin Dodge late night commercials where they all dressed up and did wacky things to sell cars. Long live Blue Genie!
Love these vehicles! Thank you for the excellent content!
Thanks Bob great video appreciate you being honest and sincere . Please discuss some of the refinements and opulence of the car
Hi Bob, im from England really like your video about the Roll's Royce, liked and subscribed , Man i could listen to you all day 👍
Good show thank you for being real, and fixing your mistake,
Bob, you are hilarious! Enjoyed it very much.
So much more than an oil change, life lessons from Video Bob.
Please make the video for the suspension work. Love the vids
Love the vids and also reading the comment commandoes telling you youre doing it wrong.
You're a trip Bob. I like your outright I don't give a shit speaking on things and about people's comments. Lol. Been watching videos for a couple yrs now. You'd be cool to hang with. Keep up the good work. How's the red pool doing?
I remember walking past a RR Dealer showroom back in the 70's or 80's in the Philadelphia area and was surprised when I spotted oil drip pans underneath all of the showroom cars. I thought, this can't be that these cars drip oil like most cars did back then but costing a fraction of the price. I had a 1978 BMW 733i that leaked all from day one until I sold it 10 years later. I did all my own service and still do but I could never fix the problem.
Always surprised the amount of mechanics that over tighten the crap
Out of oil filters, drain plugs and carburettor bolts snap just why is beyond me
Hey that was very nice of you to give GIV the grand tour I bet he really appreciated it.
You have a really cool setup and garage over there.
Love your Rolls Royce videos Bob. 👍
Incredible video thanks a lot
Thanks for great video... With the oil... can you get exact same mix from Castrol etc or would other brand oils be only similar? Would you buy the parts you need from Flying Spares or IntroCar or can you just get from BMW like the Bentley guys get parts from Audi / VW?
Beautiful oil and filter change
Loving these videos btw!
I agree about the TORQUEING things EXACT and what not.. I agree SOME things need it like engine internals and such. But I have been doing cars for ages and never torque stuff unless its intricate things. I never have had any issues.
This guy is great! I like the comment about the lunch lady. All his points are spot on.
these videos are the best commontary source of telling it like it is, plain and simple truth more entertaining than those other you tubers,
Bob thank you for all your hard work and sharing your knowledge on all things cool. Your content rules. Getcha Pull. Van Halen.
They Are Glorious ❤
Cool video, I have done my oil changes myself also. Got one of those handy dandy electric 12v suck oli pump, take dip stick or just cap off and insert suck pipe. Start pump and get oil away and change filter. In most Mercedes you don't have to go under the car at all. Quick and clean.
Love the car. Love the watch. Keep up great work!
Rolex is a tool watch that is meant to be used i am glad to see you working in it. I wear mine everyday no matter what I am doing. I love how informative your videos are.
Would it be possible to install a Fumoto drain vale on that pan? that might save a lot of mess.
I looked up the stabilizer bar prices 😱. $3,200. That’s almost what I paid for my 1997 GMC truck lol
I really enjoyed the video 👍
Found them on eBay for $700 for the pair
Any experience with Jaguar XJ6 series 3 (1980-1987)? Love my two.
What scanner do you recommend for older jaguars? I have a 98 Vanden plas and my Icarsoft’s lr v1.0 doesn’t work on it at all, but it works great on my s type.
Just found this channel. Loving the chat, wisdom and stories whilst you're working. Great!!!
Tobin is in some serious shit from the sounds of it from TK’s Garage on here.. He’s been going after them pretty hard the past week or 2.. Stay blessed @VideoBob !! Don’t let your meat loaf !!
good job, thank you for sharing
You crack me up and when you spoke about the 2 women,, LOL.. Great, same equipment.. OMG.. When I saw you put that last bottle in, I was saying to myself, that might to much.. LOL.. You never disappoint.
😂😂
Hey Bob, what is that oil additive that you used? I heard you mention it before but forgot where it was mentioned.
Nice too see they owner doing there service 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧Manchester England 🇬🇧
Awesome Videos Video Bob Keepem Cummins Watching you from here in New Zealand
There were two people who lived very close to me in San Diego, which had garages full of old RRs. One even had a 1928 built here in the US.
If I remember right, they built some here for two years somewhere down east.
My e320 mercedes held eight literes of oil. I always used LiquiMoly on it and other cars I had over the last 20 or more years.
It does get quite hot here in Vegas, but I've never had a problem with any of my cars due to the heat.
Take care, Bob.
you're a straight flyer Bob, say it how it is, im in the UK,I previously had a Rolls series 1 a few years back, but sold it, and was looking at the phantom, but I think a series 2 will probably be my next purchase, if you pay 25 to 30k GBP you get a lot of car for the money, and luckily a few garages in UK will service and look after them . plus Intracar and flying spares are good backup as well, but thanks for proving that even the newer stuff is workable if you take your time. Great videos by the way, very enjoyable, ATB
Introcar. Just saying
Love these videos, a time machine oil change video would be awesome. Thats unless the time machine uses oil haha thanks again for the video
Thank you for sharing.
Bob, I suggest you do an oil and gas change for the Aircon.
Can't remember if you ever did it. It's worth doing. How do I know. Had a seized Aircon.
Won't ever go that route of not servicing the Aircon once a year.
Love this❤️
Hey I'm from the UK and grew up n the 70s and 80s. After leaving school I worked in stores departments of car dealerships first in 84 datsun then skoda followed by good old British Austin rover. We had one car that was called the rover 213 and 216 they were actually Honda I think if I remember correctly preludes. I only found this out as we had a shelf of Honda oil filters and I asked why do Austin Rover stores have Honda oil filters.
Enjoyed the Video, a little tip, whenever I carry out an Oil change I use a large calibrated Jug, and put the exact amount of oil into the engine, because the contents of the sealed container may only be approximate, meaning more or less the amount stated . . .
Yes! I do the same thing! You could measure what drains out and put that amount back in.
Take the z max empty container and use it as a funnel. ''
Is difficult to find a person who understands the value of the parts of car… good job… good way to understand luxury and richness… and as final touch work with watch lovely…
10:11 my snap on 3/8ths long handle works great for oil drain plug removals.
My Ford takes 4 quarts
I buy oil in a 5 quart jug
I use a sharpie to highlight the marks on the side of the jug
I guy you haul out the oil catch can after you're done because of the weight and hauling it up the ladder
FCK man i have never seen so natural video about cars. Thx a lot
Metal on Metal I caught the Anvil reference!! You’re A-ok! I’m in Vegas too.
I like your pit set up :)
I could press them darn bushings Bob, 5 bucks n a bottle of moonshine 😂❤
ah Bob finally somebody with sense. It drives me bonkers the keyboard warriors saying it's a BMW. Same happens with JLR products. Just shows how ignorant and maybe jealous these people are. It's a Roller and you, having owned them, should know. Thanks for putting the ignorant fools in their place. :)
A while back my sister's father-in-law wanted to do some general mainternance on his '82 RR.. SInce there is no RR dealer in Jordan, he shipped the car all the way to Kuwait (the RR dealer in Kuwait is renowned to be one of the best RR dealers in the world.) Two months later, the service bill came back.. $70,000.. No joke 😮
Thanks for sharing! Much appreciative! My perspective of Goodyear run flats is that I hate them. Different car, but I own a 2001 Chrysler Prowler. The Goodyear run flats were factory and they only lasted 35,000 miles! Ride quality was rougher with them as well. Put Toyo Proxies for the 17" up front and 20" tires out back. Night and day difference! Car drives so much smoother and less wear on the suspension. Those continental tires for the Rolls Royce, you might get an even smoother ride down the road or a noticeable difference between the tires. If you do put Continental's on there, maybe from your perspective, make a video the pros and cons of each tire after driving on both of them. Another reason why you won't see a Rolls Royce dealership work on for example, a 1967 Silver Shadow is that they are actually more complicated to work on vs. a modern one. Rolls Royce's are designed for elegance and comfort especially for the passenger in the back seat. Brakes hydraulic system looks complicated in my opinion, but there is a reason for that. When the chauffer gently applies the brakes, he is actually coming to a gradual stop, so much so, the rear passenger doesn't notice they are stopped unless looking outside the window. You could rip all that out and put in a proportional valve and replumb new brake lines, but then again, your not getting the Rolls Royce feel of the car. Your rear passenger's body is moving forward when coming to a stop and that is a no no.
ZF6HP transmission. So many cars used this great unit from Hyundai, BMW, Jaguar, Aston etc. Excellent gearbox.
British would call those bushings , knackered . I believe !
Does Mobil make the oil?
Bob could you not put a fish net stocking over the funnel just in case the bolt did drop just a thought as always take care stay safe all xx from London ✌️
YOU ARE THE MAN
12:58 you could say the very same thing about rolex/omega. I bought my first real watch 5 years ago (was a omega speedmaster) and I love it too bits. However it doesnt look all that different from one from 1996. I wouldnt want it to change but the example is there :)
lol was counting the bottles, and was like did he just put 10 litres in? that cant be right :D
I like your fender protector/belly idea😂😂😂👌👌👌
DC Cab was one of my favorite movies!!!
I remember that video
That synthetic? Just curious.
I luv this Guy, I true Old G😂😁
Great info
I have never had the privilege of riding in a Rolls-Royce although I have always wanted to. There is not a another vehicle that comes anywhere close to being like a Rolls-Royce why do you think that people when they want to say that something is absolutely the best it could be they say that it is the Rolls-Royce. They are beautiful automobiles they are crafted they are not built.
Hey rob! This car takes 8.5 liters of engine oil FYI. Great vid and great talk.
Nevermind it’s in the title lol you got it boss 😂
Love those cars
I change the oil in my BMW 760LI for over 10 years with no issues l saved a lot money.
I own a 2022 phantom ,, personally i think rolls Royce dealership here in the uk give good value for money on aftercare,, not as expensive as people automatically think
How you doing Bob.
Don't overfill the washer fluid because if it freezes it could Crack the bottle or buy the purple stuff.
dude, I am in Las Vegas. This shit ain't freezing.
Hey Bob, I have to say that British accent you did was actually pretty damn good for an American. Usually you guys all sound the same trying to sound British. 🤣👍
Rolls Royces dont break down....they just fail to procced...this has stuck with me when I heard it from a Rolls Royce technician say it 30 year ago or more....lol
It's hasn't got an electrical fault. It's being conservative with it's power applications.
Good video Bob , I like your style . Please be careful of that head when working under the cars 😎👍😬
Nice car!!!
What would you charge for doing that job for a customer
forget what other people say you got life figured out pretty well i would say
Love your braces 👍 good on you for doing your own work lovely car 👍
They hold up my pants.
