    Good work as always as a weekend detailer myself and the owner of a silver car I know they can be tricky to work with nice vette 😉

    • @jaspersbloke
      @jaspersbloke 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Poorboys White Diamond Show Glaze, after polishing, before sealant/wax. Gives a depth of shine I never thought was possible on a silver car.

    • @gwot
      @gwot 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Dolden Details how is silver tricky to work with? it's one of, if not, the most easy colour to work with

    • @jaspersbloke
      @jaspersbloke 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +gwot just because white/silver cars don't show up the scratches as well as darker cars, doesn't mean they aren't there, and the damage has the same effect on reflection (ie shine) as it does on a dark car. A lighter paint reflects more light so it is harder to get the appearance of 'depth' that you can on a dark car, which acts as a mirror surface in its own right, think of the reflection in glass in a lit room at night.

    • @PaulDoldenDetails
      @PaulDoldenDetails 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mcpricex yes your right in a way but I'm looking at it from a detailers point of view machine polishing and sealant applications can be tricky

    • @jaspersbloke
      @jaspersbloke 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Dolden Details see what you mean now, tricky to work because the defects are harder to see with the naked eye, someone suggested to try polarised sunglasses when detailing white paint in sunlight, have the paint and the sunglasses, just waiting for the sun to test the theory!

      In hot weather you should only detail your car at night, in pitch black, with no lights and you should use sand paper instead of a wash mitt.. You can get cheap night vision goggles from the Afghan military surplus online shop.

    Great video! I was wondering why you do not use a leaf blower to dry the car. Doing so removes 90% of the water which equals less contact of the drying towel on the painted surface. Also, you avoid having water dripping out of side view mirrors and other crevices later on.

    • @beefcakeandgravy
      @beefcakeandgravy 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +CarCleaningGuru would you risk peppering it with particles or grit, don't believe leaf blowers have filters on them?
      Perhaps you could make one (or maybe they do?)
      My personal method for drying the car is to blast down the road for a mile or two and back, and then finish off with polish.
      This also has the advantage of drying out the engine bay where water has gone in through the rad, and also the exhaust where water sometimes gets in. I believe it also helps to reduce rust formation (in the exhaust) and a 70mph wind is pretty efficient at drying the car.
      It would be fun to do that with all the nice cars you have cleaned!!

    Love watching your videos. Amazing attention to detail. Your videos have inspired me to clean my vehicles in a similar manner even though they are not exotic cars as the ones in your vidoes. Two questions for you: 1- Do you fill your foam lance completely full of soap? I can never manage to get the thickness of foam you manage to achieve. 2-What was the final pink product you applied after the wax? Thanks and again great videos!!

    • @CarCleaningGuru
      @CarCleaningGuru  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not completely but I do use a little more than recommended to ensure I get it nice & thick! The pink spray is Autosmart Reglaze, a carnauba based detail spray I get in bulk but there are much better ones out there.

    Hiya pal. Obsessed with the channel. Was just looking for some basic car care tips and got a lot more! I've been slowly working my way through your videos and have really enjoyed watching you taking care of some stunning motors. I just have a question about building up a thick wax layer with multiple applications. I'm parked under a load of tall trees so you can imagine the constant battle I face. I think my best plan of attack is a hard carnauba wax to keep protected from the elements.
    Would I apply and buff off and apply again and buff off again to build the coating up?
    I'm planning on replicating your process here but with the addition of a clay bar and colour restore before the wax. The previous owner did a great job of looking after the interior but not so much the exterior.
    Any help is much appreciated and thanks again for these videos and your wealth of knowledge.
    Cheers!

    • @CarCleaningGuru
      @CarCleaningGuru  9 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      +Exekution cro I'd suggest kicking the shit out of whoever did it! Seriously though, try a strong wheel cleaner, let soak, agitate with brushes and rinse. If that doesn't work you could try an aggressive clay, a tar & glue remover, a fallout remover, a magic eraser or even some paint thinners. Just test a section first and don't let anything dry on the surface!

    • @CarCleaningGuru

    • @richardkkirk
      @richardkkirk 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +CarCleaningGuru have you ever had a problem with it either staining the brake disc's or calipers?...

    • @CarCleaningGuru
      @CarCleaningGuru  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The discs yes but even water will do that and the residue and rust should scrape off upon using the brakes. And on callipers that have lost their lacquer yes but again any cleaning product would do this. It is a strong cleaner and of course can be diluted down but the key is to not let it dry and of course only apply to cool wheels & brakes!

    • @richardkkirk

    Can you do a vid on rubber door/window seals?
    I can't for the life of me stop them fading or going dull, no matter what I use or try 😢

    • @CarCleaningGuru
      @CarCleaningGuru  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +MrGuvEuroman If they're already faded there's not much you can do aside from keep them clean and dressed. There are some pretty durable exterior trim protectants out there! Sometimes heat can be introduced to faded plastic trim to permanently bring back the colour but I'm not sure if this would work with rubber!

  • @yusuihang
    @yusuihang 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does P21S stain black rubber trim (like around windows and around some metal trims)? I will wipe off the trim if wax gets on it, but just don't want a wax that will stain if it gets on trim for short time or is very difficult to remove from trim. Thanks.

    • @CarCleaningGuru
      @CarCleaningGuru  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +yusuihang It's pretty good on trim compared to other carnauba paste waxes, in fact I'd go so far as to say you could actually wax your trim with it if you so desired!

    • @CarCleaningGuru

      +joe saxon You can use both for polishing, MF generally gives a little more 'bite' but definitely foam only for waxing.

    Your narration on your art makes the video, not
    the music

    • @CarCleaningGuru
      @CarCleaningGuru  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed but time-lapse footage with extended periods of no narration sounds like a train wreck just playing out. I can try it in the future but I reckon the annoying sped up high pitched sounds would piss more people off than the musical interlude to cover it!

    why didn't you wax the whole car and then wipe it off instead of doing it in sections?

    • @crystalclearautodetailing4292
      @crystalclearautodetailing4292 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +hex1gon i polish sections at a time, but then i wax the whole car pull it in the direct sun (5 minutes on each side of the car) so it has time to cure and haze, then buff it off. That is also the correct way demonstrated in this video around 8:12ish.

    • @davidpatterson6589
      @davidpatterson6589 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      working in sections is always good to help keep track of what is and isnt done but some waxes you can let sit on the whole car and buff off all at once depending on the directions given for that particular product

    • @JoelSmithR1
      @JoelSmithR1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Each wax is different. With R222 the directions say to work one panel at a time. If you do the whole car then come back it is a real pain to remove.

    • @crystalclearautodetailing4292
      @crystalclearautodetailing4292 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is but it allows the wax time to cure 100% and i sometimes leave the car overnight with wax on, then buff of in the morning.

      I haven't. The last two just so happened to have had music but that doesn't mean to say the next 3 or 4 will ;) Sped up screechy audio on time-lapse footage is also extremely annoying so it's a hard one to call. Any suggestions?
