Ramesh Sangaiya can use ration rice.It comes better than food rice.I am doing that way only.When fried you get a appalam like exhibition one. I do mint ela vadam(super taste,my kids favorite),ginger garlic vadam, tomato vadam,and onion vadam. For all these vadam grind the concerned items and strain the liquid and add to the maavu.Dont forget to add cumin or oomam or soombu because these vadam make gas in stomach.you can cut the vadam after steaming for easy storing and for frying in little oil.
I made this badam I small tumbler aalavu I dried inside for 2 days and then in sun for 2 days and then fried it it came out little reddish why reply to me so that I can rectify
