- In a lot of ways this hand cannon just fell behind, but in one way it got better. I feel that Judgment does have a spot in your loadout, but that depends on your use case. Do you find value and will you use a stasis Hand cannon? I do and I will. Today, I go over where Judgment falls behind, but also where it can shine.

Wish it had Demo/Headstone. It was the first Demo/Adrenaline Junkie HC, so being the first Demo/Headstone HC would've been fitting.
Especially since now we know we won't get one that's craftable. Two stasis HCs locked behind dungeons, one is a once a year drop from a mind numbing activity, and the other only drops at banshee or Xur. Would have been the absolute best thing for this weapon to have demo/headstone. Once again the decisions by whoever at Bungie are puzzling and frustrating.

@@failfurby you're right, we don't know. Just seems extremely unlikely. If they do, it'll likely be a 180, and even with demo headstone we know how 180s are in PvE if they don't have damage perks. But who knows. Maybe they will. Or they'll refresh Grasp and let Eyasluna get the combo 🤷♂️
It should have had Demo in both columns. How sick would it be to get all the good combos, or just 2x demo, and get tons of nade energy with one kill. With the stats as bad as they are, it could really use a wildcard option to set it apart.

My single drop of the new Judgement I've gotten is Headstone with Multi Kill Clip. Getting x3 is pretty easy in PvE.
Does getting a multikill off of the stasis crystal shatter count?

As a stasis main I’m definitely going to be grinding this. Hoping for a headstone/mkc which should synergise really well.
Get a headshot kill, pop the crystal and it will kill all the ads around, leaving you with max stacks of mkc. Rinse and repeat. All the while you are charging grenade energy and getting shards for health/melee energy.

Gutted to hear that Timed Payload doesn't shatter the Headstone Crystal! Literal open goal with that perk combo Bungo! Dammit.
Don't delete it if you get that roll. There's always a chance Bungie will tweek a perk like timed payload in the future.
Yea once I learned that I stopped caring about farming it.
If I get one to drop? I'll stash it away just incase Bungie decide to make it right. Otherwise I'll just do the clear & go back to farming first encounter for the Prosecutor Rolls I want! Annoyed AF the Shotty is Cube 😑😄
@@pirate_duck4985 I would too. I just don’t expect to ever get that roll. Chasing dungeon weapon rolls is the worst farm in the game. So unreasonably unforgiving.
Headstone and demolition in the same column is crazy
Especially when we already have Unending Tempest and Horror Story that can both roll with both Demo/Headstone.
I think it was a deliberate choice by bungie because Prophet also got the demo headstone combo. I think they don't want people to just expect to get demo headstone together on every weapon, they wanna keep the combo locked to specific loot sources especially when you consider prophecy is a free dungeon and you can sleepwalk through farming the 1st encounter. They know it's easy loot so they didn't wanna power creep other stasis stuff. Imo if you have a good baby hawkmoon, just use that, if not getting the 1st free chest on all 3 characters weekly is dumb easy just like farming the dungeon. Judgement just isn't worth it when we have so many other options for stasis and for 140s
Timed pay load is just bad??!?
There are 4 stasis handcannons in destiny2. 2 of them are dungeon specific while the other 2 are either timegated or only sold by banshee. 2 of these handcannons have had several perk refreshes and so in total that means there has been around 7-8 different stasis handcannons and not a single one of the can roll with demolitionist and headstone as a perk combo.
Something that Luna still has over Judgement is the ability to roll Unrelenting. The synergy that perk has with Headstone is really nice for keeping you healthy and IMO is worth the tradeoff of not having an origin trait. Now that I know that Timed Payload doesn’t do enough damage to destroy headstone crystals, it’s pretty much taken away any motivation I had to grind for this gun. Hopefully Bungie recognizes the sad state that Judgement is in right now.

This hand cannon is probably my favorite with its look and sound, even feel- I do wonder if they could go in there and tweak its stat values to bring it up- I'd honestly say +10 in each stat outside of the AA- that seems reasonable but I'm not sure
It’s crazy how a hand cannon with nice damage perks isn’t even competitive anymore. Back in the day, there would have been numerous rolls I would have chased for.
Today, if it doesn’t have the stats, then it doesn’t matter. Goes to show how much the sandbox has changed.
For PvE I honestly think Headstone + Multikill Clip is the call.
MKC is a +50% damage boost if you can hit 3x stacks and even still gives +33% at 2x stacks which is the same boost as Adrenaline x5, and since shattering Headstone crystals count as weapon kills it should make it easy to keep up the 3x MKC when firing at groups of adds.

I love this weapon. Everything about it. The fact that i now have a kinetic and stasis choice is amazing and i can't wait to get my rolls

Timed payload headstone can be rough since a lot of the time a headshot doesn’t kill the add alone and, at least in my testing, it didn’t create a stasis crystal if the enemy is killed by the explosion.

It makes me sad because I love the thought of having a good timed payload 140 hc in the Crucible for some mondo flinch, but Judgement's stats and even the game's direction (less primary flinch in pvp) just doesn't make it worth it for me. Thanks for the review!

There’s definitely some good perk play with the move to stasis and headstone in the left column, but it does make me sad for the lost of the demo/osmosis combo of the previous version. I grinded so hard for that roll on judgement (or last breath) but couldn’t get one before the change. 😭

I wish Bungie wasn't so allergic to tuning the stats on older weapons. Many of them are frankly atrocious, but they keep reprising them.
What is their viewpoint on this? What’s even the point of bringing them back without a proper stat update?
Played against you while you were using this HC. Im actually in the kill feed at 9:13 getting a kill then dying.
I really like my wellspring demo something new. Still my favorite stasis hc. Pair really well with foetracer essentially always have your nade which gives really high uptime on foetracer weapon surge.
Been grinding this for the past 3 days this week and luckily got some damn good rolls.
To Coolguy’s point tho about Timed Payload, it’s super unfortunate it isn’t strong enough to shatter crystals after a kill.
Maybe one day if TPL gets buffed and is able to shatter crystals that would 100% be the roll to go for. Still worth getting just in case imo, but for now I’ll be using Headstone with either Multi Kill-clip or Adrenaline junkie for free damage off shattering crystals.

This is making me want to dust off my Kept Confidence from the vault. That thing really does feel nice and snappy and sounds great.
Really wish it could self proc with timed I was super stoked for that possibility too.
I really wanted headstone + collective action and they came sooo close by putting HS in the left column. I still really want that roll on a HC or bow someday.
I am sooooooo sick of bungie bring back older weapons and not updating the stats. This HC got the spare rations treatment. Such a shame
Headstone Junkie is a pretty damn nice pve roll for stasis warlock. Demo headstone could have been amazing, but the fragment already exists for grenade regen upon shattering crystals, so it still works really well.

I'm glad to see someone agrees with me and this things stats and feel. Flash also throws me off. Seriously the only thing is Headstone TP but I'd use demo/GT on Prophet. Ive been using it. Such a good weapon to build on with stasis with any character.
Prophet with Hoarfrost Titan or shatter hunter. So damn good. Judgement. Eh. If i need an HC ill use anything else. Save the vault space. Wait for Grasp weapons to get origins and a rework
I want to PVP it so bad because I love the gun model and the SFX, but Kept Confidence just feels so much crispier in PVP, especially with quickdraw eye of the storm.
God, I was hoping that timed payload would self shatter the headstone, unfortunate but doesn't entirely kill the draw of it for me.
It's so odd to me, that it didn't get barrels.
I mean, they were willing to settle on a scope and give us barrels for the Blast Furnace reprise.
I don't know why settling on sights and giving us barrels was a problem here.
Did you try testing the timed payload interaction with surges? Put on bakris and see what happens. Might be enough dmg to destroy the crystal
I got a 5/5 after 10 hours, and let me tell you something, its amazing, 74 range with the origin trait, slide + opening, its really good, I'll use this one while farming for a rose with same stats.
Still no stasis handcannon that can roll with demo headstone. They always put them in the same column for some reason. It’s bullshit.
No but eyas Luna gets head stone with unrelenting. The crystal kill counts as a kill with the weapon so you can heal.. there’s a fragment that creates shards so you can get an over shield with it too. And you can increase the damage of the burst. Feels nice
ngl im just keeping my old one with osmosis demo in hopes of osmosis getting a deserved buff. adrenaline junky doesnt do enough for me to want this over a different headstone weapon.
It wasn't good then, it isn't good now but it doesn't matter cuz it looks and sounds great
it's the best stasis hand cannon right now, but not by a huge margin. plus, i can't help but figure eventually every dungeon is gonna get a refresh with origin traits and new combos, and frankly even if luna doesn't get any decent pve rolls eventually something's gonna come along that just outclasses this.

I am kinda looking at Headstone + AJ for my titan, or maybe Demo + AJ for stasis hunter or warlock. However, since Stasis subclasses sorely lack innate healing, I am still looking for a Unrelenting + Headstone Eyasluna

Hand cannons are in a BAD spot. If an enemy is *slightly* out of range, you’re instantly hitting 74 and you’re not getting your three tap against a 10 res, (which is everyone who isn’t a hunter) and you’re just gonna get a prosecutor, firefright, positive outlook, summoner, absolutely melting you because they can easily get WAY more range than you. My exalted truth adept with 80+ range only hits 35 meters. Feels VERY bad against a prosecutor that can hit 37 quite easily. A firefright can fit nearly 40. It’s ridiculous how outclassed they are.
I got the pve one. (Head-junky). I don't like Junky on stasis. But I don't need to use stasis and then it can be something

I never get stasis grenades to proc adrenaline junkie so find it useless on that class other than damage, love my shoot to loot headstone vulpecular though

This same shitty state most hand cannons are in due to poor stat help is what killed Midnight Coup, Dire Promise, Old Fashioned, or any of the other multitude of re-released hand cannons for me.
They don't seem to understand that all this sacrificing is useless when far better alternatives exsist at far less of a grind.

Not mention it is also from the last encounter of the dungeon. So it isnt the easiest to farm.

Judgement has been a favorite handcanon for me since year 1 and it’s refresh is so disappointing. Why does every other gun get barrels but judgment gets left behind. Plus it’s stats are just awful and it makes no sense as to why the didn’t raise them like so many other weapons have gotten recently. It’s perks are solid but nothing immensely impressive or unique which hurts even more

Bungie has a bad habit of not updating the stats of old HC's that they bring back to put them on par with the HC's we have now a days, bungie is either ignorant to the fact that they need to or they choose to willingly ignore it.
i don't care if the stats suck it's sexy as hell and makes cool noises and that's enough for me

Back when primary weapons sucked, this was a good weapon.
There's just too much competition for this gun, even as Stasis. Eyasluna is better. Vulpecula is similar in performance but with better availability, being it isn't from a Dungeon. Something New can roll with Headstone and solid reload perks to back it up in PvE. Many Kinetic hand cannons (Ace, Hawkmoon, Thorn, Sturm) are better in performance.

Yeah I hated this thing in PVP. I played 2 control matches with it (moving / opening) and deleted it. Basically every other 140 I have is better.
Like my headstone/adrenaline junkie.. yeah shame it's lacking for the pvp crowd.
Edit: Midnight Coup and Lunas are going to leave this HC in the dust
Im still keeping hold of my old bad boy with demo payload on kinetic. The bonus damage helps just as much as stasis synergy. Adrenaline/payload with headstone will be what ill hunt for on this one just cause the old judgemenr will still be one of my top ones for stunning and gms on other subclasses
If it feels good, then it is good. Stats aren't the whole story.
I’ve got an old encore + adagio roll that I like to use for niche PVP play, and I’m glad I’ve kept it. Together, on my roll, the two perks can provide up to 84 range and 94 stability with the damage profile of Ace’s Memento Mori.
Though adagio does make it shoot slower, I just like to think of it as a seriously souped-up 120 (which is what most people are using anyways). Plus, with the huge 30% damage bonus from adagio, it’s a guaranteed 2c1b, which is technically a leg up over even a precision instrument igneous.
Just wanted to share this as I’ve always felt like it was Judgment’s one true niche in PVP (however niche it really may be). Also, hate to lose the only two demo + osmosis primary weapons with the Prophecy rework (that being Judgment and The Last Breath).
Honestly Coolguy my man, don't miss the star ratings at all. Broke up the flow. Did nothing for me. Not sure whether you've 100% ditched it now, but you can have my opinion FWIW. Haven't even played Destiny all season but still watch your videos for the smart analysis and chill friendly vibes. Miss you telling me it's ok, but I'll deal.
I got a Headstone/MultiKC roll. Like it quite a bit in PVE and I don’t normally use many HC’s.

I farmed the shit out of a demo + osmosis roll before the rerelease because with that it becomes basically the only void 140 you can get... Exalted is not a pve weapon and pali isnt obtainable.
You can discount slide shot. account for slide shot and judgment has more range and stability that a perfect palindrome with ZERO compromise. If you call sliding a compromise thats mind blowing. but also that could be a difference between MnK and Controller.
I still think Something New is better, both pvp and pve. It has better rolls than this can get, and came out years ago. Wish peolke could still get it
As mainly a PVE player, even for PVE being stasis might be nice for builds but losing that 15% dmg kinectic has, on a weapon that already needs a little help that being HC turning it to stasis makes it just straight up worse even with the new perks, but that does not help it at all. Old Judge at least had the OPTION of turning into a stasis weapon with osmosis, sadly that is also gone with it being stasis. All in all, the moment they revealed this was gonna be stasis I frowned because if it didn't have good perks it would be forgotten immediately. Judge is by far my fav PVP HC and I hoped for a glowup but alas, left behind.

The smg, pulse, ar, shotgun are juiced. The hand cannon is mid at best. Why??????
